Who adds squash to Himalayan cuisine? Please don’t be using American standard frozen veggies package and add them to curry and call it veggie tikka masala. Momos were good.

Small but beautiful restaurant in downtown san Fransisco, I had dinner last night, everything was beyond my expectation, friendly staff and quick service. we were too hungry so we ordered couple of appetizers and Mo Mo. Mo Mo was the best ever I ate, savory, flavorful and the music they played was tuneful. can’t wait to visit again.

Amidst the pomp & show of Indian/Pakistani restaurants, this place comes around as a nice surprise! If you are fed up of run in the mill Indian food, this place is surely gonna change your opinion. We had chicken momos, biriyani, chilly chicken, some great Nepalese goat curry along with garlic naan. Everything was very different, delicious & staff was super friendly & cheerful. Big thumbs up to cooks & servers there!

Delicious! I have ordered delivery from here at least 12+times, I have never been to the physical restaurant. The food always arrives earlier than the quoted delivery time, the delivery guys are always friendly, the food is always fresh, hot, and SO, SO good. My go to order here is the Nepalese thali(the chicken and the vegetable curries are both great). The thali comes with so much food you can easily make two meals from it. The chicken wrap is sooo flavorful with a solid amount of chicken, a sweet sauce and on the spicier side, I like spicy food but I actually order the mild version of the wrap. The pillau is AMAZING, the cashews are always perfectly toasted and the rice is not greasy at all. Saag paneer is great(but I have had it a bit over salted at times) and the mango lassi is solid but a bit too sweet for my taste. Garlic naan is delicious!!! Get thee to Red Chilli, you will not be disappointed. And if you order delivery through Eat24 there is always a $ 2 coupon available.

When I go there I always try their chicken momo and chicken Chilli … But this time I feel like eating vegetarian food. When I asked the server, he recommended me the Bengan bharta. I am not big fan of this dish but thinking to give a try I ordered Bengan bharta, rice and aloo Mula ko achar. When I took a bite I liked their spices and I loved the food. Will go again to try other food:))

One of my favorite Indian places has not been very good lately so I’ve decide to give these guys a try again. I’ve gone four times in the last 2 months and its been excellent every time. PLEASE keep it, fresh naan and thick curries that never have an after taste, so happy.

I ordered food from here thinking it would be how other bay area Nepalese Restaurants are. To my horror, the food smelled pretty yucky and when I decided to eat it, It tasted just plain weird. I don’t know how it has 4 star reviews. Generally I wouldn’t review a restaurant if it wasn’t good but I am just letting people know to beware.

One of the best Indian/Pakistan/Himalayan restaurant in the city. Lamb masala was so delicious. I would defiantly recommend this cozy and friendly restaurant to all of my friends.

Spicy chili chicken was pretty good but small portion. Tastes a little like a spicy version of sweet and sour chicken. Very spicy! Chicken curry thali was ok — 3 stars — everything was so spicy that things started tasting the same after a while. It comes with three curries and rice — the chicken curry was by far the best. The lentil curry and veggie curry were just okay — the heavy spiciness covered the blandness of the curry. Garlic naan is decent, but I wouldn’t get the house special naan again. Note: we got this through eat24 food delivery. Pretty smooth process, but wish the waits weren’t an hour long… we were hungry!

It’s a great place for authentic Nepalese food. Do not miss their aloo tama(potato, black eyed peas and bamboo shoot), badam sadeko(peanuts mix), khasi ko masu(goat curry) and not to forget their mouthwatering momos! The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the location isn’t great for sit in dining experience. The food is worth 5 stars.

This place in quite underrated, I’ve never heard of Red Chilli from anyone or anywhere else but eat24. It is my to-go Indian food, and it is most likely my favorite Indian food in the entire USA. Our usual order include Bengan Bartha, Saag Aloo, and Vegetable Biryani. We never not order Bengan Bartha, I’m eating it as I type, I ate it last night as well. They use very interesting spices like(I’m guessing) cloves and ginger is used in a lot of dishes. I was born and raised where Indian food is everywhere in Asia, but this is the most interesting and delicious for me and my partner.

TLDR: Super good, decently priced. More dense: after passing by this good-looking restaurant in an indian-food-heavy block of the TL, I decided to give them a try — via a late evening delivery order. I got: –Chicken Tikka Masala(AMAZING, maybe the best I’ve had) –Chili Chicken(Good but they are NOT kidding; this is hot) –Chicken Momo’s — Interesting, like dim sum but served with an Indian-style sauce. Fun to try once, but probably won’t be on my regular order. –Rice(of course) About the only complaint I have is the serving size. It’s slightly on the small side for what I’d like for carryout; I prefer to be able to make two meals from each entrée. The momo’s in particular were probably the least value of the things I tried. I’ll definitely be back, for more CTM, Chili Chicken, and to try new things!

Pretty solid food for a shady indian restaurant in the Tenderloin. I came here for Sunday lunch and we were one of only 2 parties sitting in the restaurant. Their phone did keep ringing, so I guess they get more to-go orders than dine-in. We ordered the veggie momos to start and the paneer makhani with some naan. The veggie momos were pretty good! I loved the texture of the outer coating and the sauce it was served with had a nice spicy kick to it. The paneer makhani was very creamy and maybe actually a little TOO buttery(never thought I’d complain about that). It felt pretty heavy when we were eating it, but the quality of the paneer was awesome! It was soft and had the perfect texture and taste. Maybe next time I’ll try the paneer tikka masala for a less heavy alternative! This place has good Indian and Nepalese food! Don’t go here for a nice ambiance or high quality service, but go here for some good, hearty food!

I can’t say that I would order to go from them again. Twice they have screwed up my order and this last time it was just too spicy for me. Their naan and paneer are amazing, so are their samosas, but it was a tad overpriced.

My choices? The Nepali Style Thali with Vegetable and the Chicken Tikka Masala curry. A lot of food for one person? Yes. Did I finish almost all of it anyway? Yes. The Nepali Style Thali is the ideal sampler, with small containers of saag(creamy spinach), dal(lentil soup), vegetable curry, and aloo(potato). This came along with naan, rice, and papad(lentil wafer). I was impressed that the restaurant was even willing to sub out my rice for brown rice at no extra cost. Each of the dishes was piping hot but was so hard to resist digging my fork into. The aloo was a little weird(I think because something in it was pickled) but the rest was delicious! The Chicken Tikka Masala was also a solid choice. The chicken came in small cubes and was surprisingly juicy compared to some of the chicken tikka masalas I’ve had before. To me though, the starring part of the dish was the curry itself — amazingly creamy and flavorful. I ended the meal just dipping my naan in the curry to soak up all the spices. AMAZING. P. S. The grubhub deal only works if you’re new to grubhub, not to the restaurant. Nonetheless, they do offer free delivery if you choose to use it.

My Nepalese Über cab driver told me about this place. Glad he did, people here are very friendly, and the food is fresh, flavorful and I’ll be back again next time I’m in SF. Indian and Nepalese food are very similar but their specials here are all traditional Nepalese.

There’s a slew of Indian restaurants around here, most of which are better and cheaper than Red Chile. Ordered chicken tikka masala, naan and basmati rice for take out. The naan was good. A bit doughy but I like that. $ 1.50 so the price was fair. Basmati rice $ 2.00 and standard. Slightly undercooked, it tasted like it was rice that had previously been refrigerated then not heated properly. The chicken tikka masala had a great tasting curry sauce. It was slightly watery, more than usual. The chicken inside was old tasting. It wasn’t tough but it didn’t have a grainy feel, maybe over cooked? $ 8.99 All in all, I spent about $ 14 on the meal that would’ve cost me half that around the corner.

This is a small Nepalese /Indian restaurant. The Momo(饃饃) was pretty good. It was basically a Nepalese style Chinese dumpling. I liked the spicy dipping sauce. The Momo tasted fresh and moist. I really like the garlic nan. It was warm and moist. Chicken Chilli was extremely good. It was spicy and the chicken was tender and moist. It goes great with nan. The milk tea was good. The palaw rice was so-so. It was spicy, but had very little flavor. Chicken Tikka Marsala was OK, but nothing special. On a second visit, I tried the Sadeko Badam. It was pretty good. It was like eating mexican salsa mixed with peanuts. It was in a bowl made out of papad. It had a unique flavor. Also the Lamb Biryani was good. Because it was covered in a marsala sauce, it was moist and flavorful. The menu prices are reasonable. The customer service is OK.
