A special specialty store. The restaurant Da Flora, which is just 2 doors over, has taken over what used to be a tailor shop. You’ll find Italian wines, olive oil, pasta, chocolates, & jams. All sharing the shelves w a carefully curated book selection, fine teas, fresh paprika, & cardamom. There’s also a small selection of artisan chocolates by Christophe. They’re exclusively made for Rialto Mercato. So, if you’re looking for sweets that you can’t get anywhere else, there’s no need to look any further. There’s an enlarged vintage map of Venice on display. The dismantled version of it sits in a folder beneath it. It’s not for sale. Just a stunning adornment for the freshly painted shop. I grabbed some cardamom to add to my tea at home. And I left being impressed by the personal touches & special feeling of the place. There’s an old Italian saying«small is our home, but big are our hearts.» That’s what it feels like in here. 4 stars.

Quirky San Francisco North Beach destination for anyone longing for what the City used to be – characters, charm, creativity, weirdness, individuality. NOT something for everyone!

The two self-absorbed women(not) running this store were not about to let a mere customer interrupt their important conversation. Small selection, poor customer service, on the far northern end of the Columbus business strip: Not a sustainable business model.
