I didn’t get my glasses here but many times I’ve gone here to have them adjusted and had no issues. Today I went in like always and know the spill that they have to tell you if you didn’t purchase the glasses there. But morally, would you want to fuck up someone’s lenses just bc they weren’t purchased there that’s what happened today. My lenses are all scratched and I have all this glare and horrible vision now. Really sucks that ppl out there don’t really care. This is my vision. Well I had bought of getting my next pair from them, but tonight killed that idea. Maybe they need to hire more caring and morally eatable ppl.

I just had my Dior sunglass repaired here. There was very kind gentleman who helped me for the repair and he was the nicest sales personnel ever. My glasses came back like a new one within 5 minutes. Definitely coming back. Thank you!!!

Didn’t even know this place was here, and since they don’t advertise, it makes this one of the better kept secrets in SF. Like most other reviewers, I landed here by word-​of-​mouth, and I’ve heard lots of celebrities shop here because they have special agreements with them for privacy, etc.
Anyway, my previous partner has three pairs from here and I always admired his sense of style. We would go everywhere together and he’d always mention this store every time he took out his sunglasses! I guess you remember things like this when you need to.
PROS: Unique styles, good help, quick turnaround, reasonable price, won’t rush you.
CONS: No valet parking, don’t sell binoculars, can’t repair watch batteries, and don’t offer you a snack /​juice upon entering which is pretty customary in European optical stores.

It was A Runner’s Mind who actually first mentioned I should check out Rims and Googles. OMG over the course of an hour, we maybe tried hundreds of different pairs of glasses, but still couldn’t decide. So I came back with a few friends and bae for their input and tried everything again. I was looking specifically for a colorful pattern that would show my wild side, and they have this super cute new frame that was all different colors and so amazingly GLAM! You can also get your lenses done here. I’m used to waiting three weeks at other places, but here they are able to do it at the store. Thanks again, I love them!

just left the shop. I go in this shop all the time just to look, never bought anything because the lady was always too pushy. but last week I stopped in because I saw new frames in the window, and I was looking for a gift for my girlfriend. the guy that was working helped us out a lot and showed us all the new styles. but today I go to purchase the sunglasses and the lady is working and she was being a total bitch! she gives me an attitude as soon as a walk in, and was being extremely rude. they sold out of the glasses I was going to buy, so I was asking about ordering them and the lady was not helping at all and was just trying to get me to buy a different pair they had in stock. I asked what the model/​name of the frame style was so I can look it up online. the lady refused and tells me she can’t release that information. like bull shit lady, stop being a pushy sales person and actually help me out here. the nerve of some of these sales people in sf. I’ll never return to this shop, and I hope that lady has a shitty day.

I’ve taken my toddler to many eyeglass stores around the Bay Area and I received the friendliest and best overall service here. This is my favorite place now and I will continue to go back as my son needs glasses as he grows. Worth every penny.

Just picked up some sick new glasses here, $ 99 on sale. Will definitely get my lenses done next time, they have very good pricing. Downside, they don’t take insurance.

Okay, so people have been telling me great things about this place, I’d been in once before this time randomly with a friend but I have always been pretty sure by the looks of the store that that I can’t afford the glasses here: it’s huge, probably the biggest glasses shop I’ve ever seen; black granite counter tops and lots of mirrors made me feel a little self-​conscious, especially on those days you don’t look your best. Kind of intimidating when you first show up, because there are border-​line too many choices.
I have a weak prescription, so contacts usually get me by. but, my eyes have been bothering me recently so I remembered this place and went in. A+ for the service here, they seem to know their inventory quite well and won’t just try to sell you the most expensive thing. the people here will really focus on you. Came out with a great pair of Italian-​made specs that are probably the best quality I’ve ever owned, for $ 99!
~They were also really thoughtful to my pug and gave him water and treats!~

As someone who spends +10 hours on a computer per day, my eyes had been killing me — , headaches, blurry vision, can’t sleep when I get in bed. The lady who works here was telling me about a new kind of lens which is designed for people like me. Apparently, this lens’es cuts out blue light, which is the main source of eye strain for my environment. But my doctor said I also have a slight astigmatism and I had been wearing cheaters my whole life. The women who helped me was really cool and seemed to have recommended these kinds of lenses before and been successful with them. To summary —, Very happy with them and I can already feel my eyes are more at ease. May also come back for a more «hipster» pair.

My partner and I have been walking by here for years, and we always say we’re going to stop by. His co-​worker apparently swears by this place and knows the owner. So when my doctor said I needed glasses, we finally came in. Needless to say, they have some very cool stuff, and some just plain strange stuff. I’m not sure who buys some of these items.
Either way, of all the optical stores we visited in Financial — and there are a million now — this place wins out. Best selection, staff isn’t pushy, always have good recommendations if you need help.
Another thing, they took a lot of 1 on 1 time with me, explaining the different options. I’m not sure how selecting lenses got so complicated, but these guys will definitely take the time to walk you through it.

UPDATE: I think the comments from Nestorius speak for themselves. Don’t worry, I will never, ever, visit your store nor recommended it to anyone.

Thanks, Nestorious O, for demonstrating your complete lack of respect for your customers and any sort of criticism. Your store policy is complete bulls**t. If your «curated» stock is that great then it will speak for itself. Your lame attempt to «protect» the store from price comparison and internet shopping will not stop the inevitable from happening. No one wants to deal with pretentious jerks.
I will never shop here, ever.

What a horrible experience. I went in knowing the brand I wanted and needed to try on multiple styles for fit for sports and I had a pretty unlimited budget. I liked two but found out that they had a no refund policy (even just frames, not lenses) and I didn’t want to choose right then. I tried to take down the names of the styles I wanted with my phone and was told that it was proprietary knowledge what they had in stock (and apparently what I tried on) and they would not let me take down the style names or any photos (totally okay with no photos). I asked them if they could write down the style names on a card so I could come back (you know, maybe with my motorcycle helmet to check the fit) and they would not do that. Also when I asked if I could call them and ask them if they had a style in stock (they might have sold them) they might or might not give me a response, I mean, if they can’t write down what I want how would they know which I was inquiring about? PS: I looked on the site and the glasses are only retailing $ 165, I had the cash for that in my pocket.
The saleswoman also really couldn’t sell the brand or give me alternatives in the store for my needs. She didn’t seem to know or want to share the technical parts of the glasses I found on the website to help me choose properly.
TL;DR Tried to blow a wad of cash on some sunglasses and was denied because I couldn’t make up my mind. There were no returns and the saleswoman didn’t know the brand enough to sell it, she just stood beside me making sure I didn’t pocket them.

Hands down, the most impressive service and ability to fit in the Bay Area. Excellent selection and good value. I have tried Optical Undergrown and See (really bad). Please try Rims & Googles first.

I had a pair of sunglasses from Rims and goggles but unfortunately lost them, so i looked for a long time for replacements and finally found time to go back and, of course, they had just what i was looking for. Just the best shop in town matter of glasses!

I really appreciate the service that I have received from this business. I have purchased 2 pairs of glasses. Yes, as other reviewers have noted, they are not inexpensive. However, I have never had better support in selecting frames, lens and literally years of service in tuning up my frames when they become worn. I have a difficult prescription because of prisms and bifocals and my lens are perfect. And, because I cannot move without my glasses, I am very hard in my use of them. That said, I am still wearing the glasses I purchased here 2 years ago and they are perfect. I will absolutely return here with my next prescription. Thanks!

Over the years, I’ve purchased three pairs of glasses from Rims & Goggles. I’ve always received great service.
Recently I presented them with one of my purchases that I had (head hung low) mangled to what I thought was unfixable. To my surprise, and without charge, they happily resurrected them after a brief visit to their workshop.

Rims and Goggles has a fantastic selection of high end and hard to find frames. My wife and I were both looking for fun, high fashion glasses and after not finding what we were looking for elsewhere, we went to Rim & Goggles. The manager helped us look at 10 or 15 frames each and we both found frames we loved. It is true, they don’t bill VSP for you, but filling out the VSP forms is particularly easy. I was also very impressed with their customer service. I had a small issue with my frame and they went way above and beyond to resolve it. Could’t be happier. This is my 2^nd pair of glasses from there and my wife and I will certainly keep going back. I do wish they would bill VSP directly, but at the end of the day, it only took me 5 min to fill out the form, put it in an envelope and walk it to a mailbox.

These guys are terrible. Stay away from them as they will lie to you to get your money. They are unethical. If I could give a negative raiting, I would give it. Recently, they sold my wife an $ 800 pair of glasses. Told her she could not use the VSP plan. We went to another boutique selling the same glasses for $ 500.
Stay away. Check all the 2012 reviews are very negative. These guys will rip you off!!!
To the manager, please train your people. There is no reason to rip people off.

To find a fantastic shop that caters to the customers needs can’t be better represented than Barbara (the sales woman) at Rims and Goggles on Sacramento St.
She knows every style of glasses that is carried in the store and knows what might suit me. I have bought sunglasses, reading glasses, distance glasses from them and have always been impressed and very pleased with her suggestions.
I have faxed my prescription to the store, after choosing a frame that compliments my face, and within one week they have been ready.
The superb service of professionalism with a smile, the honesty of Barbara’s suggestions, their fashionable and large selection of frames, along with their quick turnaround and competitive pricing keeps me returning and recommending Rims and Goggles.

The best products in SF and yes expensive.
