Love this place! Bought a chair and a couple small items. Price is right and the selection is very well curated. Will be back!

I didn’t actually buy anything here but that wasn’t from lack of great stuff I was just not able to fit some stuff I wanted in a suitcase home haha. The staff was nice and made great conversation with us and I am not a big vintage clothing person but I could tell they had a good selection. Their prices are also really reasonable which I feel in the city can sometime get out of hand. This is definitely a place I would visit again.

I love old things, and I love Room 4! My first time here today and honestly it was rotary phones galore in there. I’m sad that I’m on a money saving budget, otherwise I would have blown so much money on everything. I was so tempted to purchase the Kodak movie cameras (40 bucks each), but I had to play devil’s advocate to myself… why do you need this? What will you do with it? I wish I didn’t. I hate myself.
Other than the self hate, I love everything in here. I saw a Wham! Make It Big cassette, the Pretty in Pink soundtrack cassette, more rotary phones, old photographs, tshirts, furniture, bowties, Playboy swizzle sticks, tape recorders (!!!). Next time I come in, I will be more prepared. And I hope there are more film cameras in there because I need more for my collection! This store is so… exciting! A definite must for collectors and for people who just love stuff!

If you dig vintage then you will love Room 4. Unfortunately we couldn’t lug things back with us hence we flew in however that didn’t keep us from looking through nearly everything. A mixture of all different eras from the art deco era to mid century to late 70’s I love the selection.

For a tiny space Room 4 is packed with mid-​century treasures at reasonable prices. A must stop if you happen to be cruising down Valencia Street.

I’ve bought a number of things from this place. Unfortunately, not furniture… as I do not have enough apartment. But I would!
Bow-​ties, ties, cuff links, tie-​pins, I think I even got a hat. lol.
I’m pretty hard-​up on men’s vintage stuff as most places stock only women’s items, and this place supplies!!! Yeeeee!!! It’s pretty awesome. Smiley face.
I wonder if they will ever get into vintage fetish, since it already looks like they have vintage porn. giggle giggle giggle. I’ve already asked about wrestling gear.
The second-​to-​last time I came, I ended up getting rings, a BEAUTIFUL cigarette case (though I don’t smoke). I couldn’t really justify buying it. But it was so beautiful, I re-​purposed it into a wallet.
It is spectacular. I’ve used it three times and the guards and bartenders always stare at what I’m doing whenever I open it for ID and money. I’ve caught my friends eye-​ing this candy. Smiley face.
They even had odd leather rings. (I took the only metallic, electric blue ones.) An hour after purchasing them, some friends neeeeeeded to try them on, and picked them off my fingers.
I had to come back later in the week, and brought co-​workers. And you know what? The hottie gentleman behind the counter remembered my name. Smiley face.
I’ll be returning. Maaaaybe even before my holiday hang-​over.

What a cool little place! Their stuff can be broken down into three categories: (1) men’s clothing; (2) misc. ‘50s-‘60s items; (3) jewelry of all kinds. More details on each:
(1) Including, but not limited to: western-​style shirts (in the $ 15-​$ 20 range, but great condition), neat vintage ties, belts, pants, and T-​shirts.
(2) Including, but not limited to: suitcases, Playboys, cups and saucers, pins, and lamps.
(3) Including, but not limited to: belt buckles, leather cuffs, rings, and cuff links.
Really nice owners, and a great location. It’s amazing how much interesting stuff they pack into such a small space. I was also impressed that everything I saw appeared to be in excellent condition. It’s obvious that a lot of care goes into this place!

As far as vintage/​antique shops go, this is jewel. Small, but filled with enough knick-​knacks to keep you there for the better part of an hour. A real blast from the past. Got a nice necklace there and Enjoyed browsing all the retro 50’s memorabilia.

Uh, gimme! My husband saw two racks and knew we had to walk into this gem of a vintage shop: the first was of $ 10 pearl snap shirts; the second was on the vintage issues of Playboy magazine.
Mens’ clothes only, but well priced and taken care of. Tons of supercool, retro, and odd home décor and ashtrays. Polaroid cameras, ties, telephones, furniture, postcards, colorful non-​tacky lamps and art.
The owner is very nice and doesn’t eyeball you for exploring — you can touch things!!! Clean, dust-​free, small, yet packed full of things you’ll want to take home and hope to keep in as good condition as you found them!

Badass!
I walked into this store and felt like the owner had ransacked my closet. This store sold all the vintage Le Tigre, Member’s Only, and Wrangler tops that I wear daily. And, yes, all of the clothes are for men!
The vintage furnishings and nick nacks were all very cool and affordable. I recommend this store to anyone that digs vintage stuff.

Room 4 is must-​visit for any vintage lover in the San Francisco area. They have a wide range of unique items ranging from clothes to furniture to accessories that are pleasantly arranged in the cozy interior. It is a very comfortable and welcoming space, without a hint if pretentiousness, created by a clear lover of vintage. Oh, and the prices are all very reasonable.
The owner is very personable, and if you talk to him about Austin, TX he’ll be your friend :).

I like the merch. The owner is a very kind and friendly dude. I found some silly stuff in there, plus looking around the shop feels more like snooping around some batty old woman’s house. And that’s a good thing!

I want to go to there.

What an awesome place. Not just a wonderful collection of crazy cool and fun objects, but all reasonably priced. INCREDIBLY REASONABLE PRICES. I mean $ 5 for a pair of sunglasses from the 60s in their original boxes. WTF? Other stores like this excise an insane hipster tax. Room 4 just deals in a small beautiful sampling of baby boomer clothes, furniture, and object d’art. I think I know where my birthday present to myself will be coming from this year!

Love Room 4 – what’s not to love about this little closet sized retro clothing and trinkets store. I was hoping to find my TWA bag — why did I not keep it?! The entire cast of Brokeback Mountain must have been fitted here– love the western shirts and boots; there are olé time ash trays, matchboxes and a very large match box from Mark Hopkins– a shape that I have never seen before.
The had free tangerines today – the sign said «try one, they are delicious» how sweet! I pass this shop dozens of time per week and it is one of those shops. when I have time… I never have time but I am glad I went in. Valencia Street is so original and still things I discover that are new to me.

MUY IMPORTANTE SHOPPERS: I spent $ 80 here last night and they gave me a $ 10 gift certificate as a reward :). I walked out with a large framed art piece, a guilded empty picture frame, and a funny little bird cage complete with faux bird.
Fantastic collectibles, art, and retro furniture for Salvation Army prices. When I see places like this, I expect them to charge me «vintage prices,» so imagine my surprise when I started seeing beyond-​reasonable price tags floating around. I bought a gorgeous gilded art piece from here for $ 45. After going to Salvation Army the night before and finding nothing I liked under $ 35, I’m going to consider Room 4 a gigantic steal.
You will find things you didn’t know existed, things you forgot existed, and things you are glad to own again.

David, the Owner of Room 4 makes this place so cool and comfortable I feel like I’m visiting a friend. A friend with a VERY COOL 60s 70s luv n swingtown moodring midcentury getdown apartment.
I always sit it down for a moment when I come in, right on the latest groovechair that Dave has unearthed from the vault of the past. I assume he timetravels because the stuff in here is all clean and pristine– no vintage stank or rips or tears. Check the clothing too, especially the men’s shirts– styles just kitschy enough to get a wry smile, but not so O.T.T that you’re a joke. I put up a pic here of my beau modeling «davewear» seated on the CHECK IT!- lime green 70s sofa. I’m not kidding about parking it here!
From the funky unique, yet utilitarian cabinets to the charteuse chairs and over to the world’s first word processor– yes that’s what I said! — every Room 4 piece carries a bit of panache. The stuff ain’t just old and expensive like some joints. It’s reasonably priced and finFUCKINGtastically stylvescent.

Did I mention the wooden three tiered jewelry box made by prison inmates? Does John Waters know about this place? I really should have been a gay man, but in the meantime at least I can shop like one.

Head on in, welcome him to Valencia Street! It takes a brave man to open a business on this street, at these prices, in this market.
I admire him very much. I also admire the little gold-​rimmed drink set I found there today!

OK, this place just rocks, offering much-​needed respite from the heart-​attack inducing prices of most of the vintage stores on Valencia.
It’s primarily a furniture/​home furnishing shop but also has a small range of vintage clothes. I bought two of the most awesome (and comfy) lounge chairs (50s/​ish in perfect condition) for under $ 300. Yep, you read that right… UNDER $ 300. They’re super stylish and pretty much the coolest things in my house right now.
Please don’t go and shop there though as I’m already feeling nervous about people finding this place and buying that wall-​mounted stuffed goat’s head I want for my living room.

This place is a gem! A fantastic new vintage alcove the size of your moms walk in closet.
Head here for a funky 1940 lounge chair and a side of Oui magazine or maybe a kitchy lunchbox, or two. Shop your heart out, because everything is fantastically affordable.
Unlike some new hipster stores in the mission (*cough* The Curiosity Shoppe *cough) you will walk out with funky new finds without breaking the bank.
Also, love the guy who owns it – friendly and genuine. Five stars for sure.
