I was just searching for something new and exceptional for my party… so roaming here and there. At last I find my liking here a BLAKISHshshsh!!!
Very responsive customer service just helping to find the my reason here… just coming again and again.

This store looks promising from the outside. Once in, you quickly realize this is a shop filled with minimalistic designs at higher prices (probably to make the rent in this location).
In our experience, anything we wanted to try on, they did not have in a medium size or they would suggest something completely opposite of what we explained. If we said we are looking for short skirts, they would bring long ones, etc.
We left feeling disatisfied with our experience and purchased something that seems overpriced.
From the outside it looks like a boutique. From the inside it’s just another shop selling t-​shirts at blouse prices.

This store is very cute and they have REALLY cute stuff! The women who work there are VERY sweet… My ONLY advice is to watch the brands you purchase here. I recently came home with some blouses by MM Couture at $ 98 a pop. To my surprise I saw the same ones (not on sale or marked down) on a department store website for $ 68. I believe you pay for what you get and do not mind spending money on quality, but that kind of mark up on a top you can buy at Dillard’s isn’t exactly something I can get behind.

I love the clothes at Saffron and have bought several dresses and suits over the years both at the downtown SF store and the one in the Mission. Saffron’s clothes are versatile and functional, without being overpriced. It is such a treat to have the designer on site to help with selecting the right pieces for one’s body type.
I also just love the fact that Saffron’s clothes are designed and sewn in the Bay Area. This is such a shrap contrast to practically every article of clothing in most stores made in China. On a recent visit, I asked if I could have the belt to a dress (which I bought in two colors because it fit so well) adjusted, and was delighted that this could be done for a nominal price.
This is such a special store — every professional woman should check it out both for the clothes and for the accessories so she can wear something different to work!

Unfortunately, I had the same experience as m.v. I purchased a pair of stretch jeans in a size large — I am a size 8– at the urging of the salesperson that they would stay snug and were the perfect size for me. Just like m.v., after 2 — 3 wearings, I was having to hold them up as I walked down the street! Also, just like m.v., when I tried to resolve the situation with the owner, I was coldly rebuffed, even though I offered a number potential solutions. I was told that although there was not signage or indication on the sales tag that once worn, even defective clothing cannot be returned (hello? a slight violation of California code) and that she had «no further responsibility as a retailer». Obviously customer satisfaction is way down on her list.
The only solace I have is that I frequently walk by this store and it almost always empty. Perhaps the lack of business will result on their closing this store and the Embarcadero can get a store with class in its place,.

I was very excited when I bought my dress at this store. I liked meeting the designer and i fit perfect and looked great. BUT!
When I wore it the next day, I couldn’t even walk one full block without the dress sliding all the way up my legs. It went from being a dress at the knees to a dress being at my thighs. I was very disappointed about this but I thought I would give it another chance. I wore the dress a total of 3 times and it did the same thing each time. SO!
I took it back to the store. I thought that they should know that the dress malfunctioned. The designer was not understanding at all and got very defensive. She said, «I’ve sold 56,000 of these and you are the first person to make this complaint.
Needless to say, I was disappointed in her response. All I was looking for was, «I’m so sorry that it did that. Thank you for coming back to let me know. I will look into this.» I wasn’t expecting my money back even though I paid $ 175 for it. You take chances with these designers. I WILL NEVER buy another dress from her again. While the product looks great when you are at the store, it fails to hold together.
DON“T BUY her dresses, you’ll be very disappointed in the end result. And they won’t care to make you happy either. Instead save your money and buy a something of better quality at Neiman Marcus or Nordstroms.

I love, love, love this store! I have purchased about 6 pieces of clothing ranging from shirts to dresses and 3 clutches. Every piece is unique in color, style and fabric, but they are easy to wear from work to dinner to even late night. Everytime I wear one of the pieces I get tons of compliments.
The owner and store staff are wonderful. She never tries to push something that either does not look right or maybe you are not comfortable with wearing. What I love the most though is that the owner and designer has gotten me to pick pieces that outside what I would imagine myself wearing and it has always worked.
If you are professional woman that is tired of the old styles of button down shirts and slacks, please drop in a shop here. Prices are reasonable given the location and that the items are designed locally.
Just a little about the accessories — I have definately found tons of pieces from clutches, to jewlery and purses, probably more than my husband would like me to purchase. The designers are generally local to San Francisco and have really fresh designs that are fashionable, but timeless pieces.
I am so happy to see that the store is still in Embarcadero! You should definately go see them, they will not disappoint.

I visited Saffron Rare Threads in Mission. Priya was very friendly and helpful. Her prices aren’t that expensive either. I bought a top that has shoulder cutouts, and the cutouts are very flattering. My friend bought a dress that we took directly off the mannequin.

Priya is unpretentious and quickly zeroes in on your style, fit, and price point. Her designs are clean and flattering.
I’m only sad that the Mission location will be closing. I’ll miss stopping by after a Bi-​Rite Creamery fixxe…

Full disclosure. I personally know the designer and owner of this fabulous boutique… and I am also a fan of her collections.
I worked with Saffron Rare Threads when I had a boutiue of my own. and my clients loved her classic and versatile pieces!
I find that parking at their Dolores St location can be tough. which is why I am so happy to see them with a location downtown in the FiDi (the old Coach Store space).

Fresh, elegant, stylish clothing. And the shop is nice too. I purchased the Opal top and I really like that the prices are not too expensive. Lots of handmade jewelry made by another local designer — hand hammered with rough cut herkimer diamonds (quartz).
Also right around the corner is Bi-​right Creamery!

As everyone already says — Priya is fantastic. On top of being adorable, she is so attentive, so right-​on-​the-​money with helping you find the right thing every time you stop in. This is my go-​to store for gifts for my sisters from out of town as well as other girl friends of mine in the city. Original designs and great cuts for multiple body types. And color — a great palate of color to choose from for any skin tone. I also especially like the jewelry selection offered by Joy O Designs. Beautiful as well as contemporary, every gift I have bought from this jewelry line is an instant success. The small selection of mens designs offered by Indie Industries is a draw as well. On this trip I noticed the hats on the wall — killer color combinations for plaid hats. I’m going back…

Priya, the genius behind Saffron Rare Threads, has an incredible sense of style. Her designs are very unique, yet classic and understated, all with great detailing. On top of that, she seems really nice. I’m kind of chea… value conscious, and Saffron’s prices are surprisingly affordable given the quality and versatility. Plus, there are usually a number of last season’s items on sale — I’m not sure I’ve ever left this shop without buying something. Highly recommend you pop in.

Check out this store and designs if you’re looking to rev up your wardrobe with pieces that are eye-​catching and take you from work to play and are easy to wear. Another plus if you actually stop in the store is the good mood you’ll be in after interacting with Priya. She’s like the hippest, fun, friendly, fashion fairy godmother. She’s honest about what looks good on you and no sales pressure. SRT and Priya are definitely one of many reasons the Mission is a cool place to go hang. You may drop more here than you originally intended to, but you won’t regret it.

What a fantastic boutique offering a unique womens clothing line. They offer a sophisticated product backed by quality craftsmanship. My Girlfriend loved their products that they offered.

The kind of attention to detail and quality can’t be missed here! The clothes are exceptional and you can tell a lot of love went into each design! You can also order on-​line now so I am very, very excited about that!

I had to find a dress for an upscale cocktail party, a setting where I am decidedly inexperienced. The salesperson here helped me navigate the racks and find just the right black dress — on sale, no less! She had the perfect balance of helpfulness and standing back to let me take my time (which I really appreciate in clothing shop folks), and the dress was, of course, awesome.
I am kind of afraid of what will happen to my wallet when I go back to see their Autumn line in a week or so.

The sign on the outside says Studio 3579, so we almost missed it.
Priya was very friendly, and her designs are great. My girlfriend got a sexy, elegant dress.
Even though they only have women’s clothes, I found something I just had to get. The space is shared with artist Hannah Stouffer (
). She creates amazing illustrations. I couldn’t walk away from one of them, so I ended up buying the print.

Update:
I made it here last year, and came out with several items. Priya’s clothes are beautifully designed and crafted. The shirts I bought here have survived my love for them. The fabrics are fine, seams secure and cuts classic.

I keep meaning to go to the store but haven’t made it yet. But I did buy a gorgeous white button-​down sleeveless shirt from Priya at a trunk sale. There’s so much detail in this shirt – the sleeves are designed almost like tulip petals – that I know I’ll walk into the shop one day and barely be able to control my credit card. yikes!

I’ve known Yugala and now Priya for years, and they have always amazed me by not only their gushing and warm personalities, but their ability to translate their style into some of the most gorgeous clothing I’ve come across in some time. Right now their focus is on women’s apparel, their choice of fabrics are luxurious yet fun, and very wearable. Check out their site, and joing their mailing list for updates!
