Sail Lola with Captain Chris Jordan

Exceeds expectations.
I was in the market for a sunset cruise as part of an anniversary date… after much digging around on the interwebs, I found Sail Lola. The price was surprisingly reasonable compared to other options — I figured a smaller, private trip would cost more. Also, I was very attracted to the idea of having the boat to ourselves.
Chris was extremely accommodating and sprinkled us with some of his extensive sailing knowledge throughout the trip. He’s passionate about his craft, laid back and easy to talk to.
We made it around Alcatraz, breezed through a kite surfing race, past the Golden Gate bridge and then back again. The sun was setting about 30 minutes before the end of the trip — perfectly timed.
We had a great time and I highly recommend Lola to small groups looking for a private cruise around the bay.

What a fantastic experience! My wife and I were out in San Francisco last September, 2009. We are novice sailors and we wanted to get out on the Bay. I called several charters, and Captain Chris Jordan was the most straight forward and friendly of them all. He was willing to work with our schedule and had some great suggestions. My wife and I chartered the afternoon and we were able to sail around the city across to Alcatraz, over to Sausalito, under the Golden Gate and back to Pier 39. Knowing that we were learning to sail Captain Chris let us to get as hands on as we wanted, which I loved. There is plenty of room on board the Lola (i think she is a 33 footer) and the Captain keeps some refreshments below. If you want something special you can bring it along. Dress in layers, the weather can change quickly on the Bay. I highly recommend Sail Lola if you want to get off the pier and see the sights from a new perspective. Hope to sail on Lola the next time we are out in the Bay area.

Captain Chris is awesome! We had a terrific time in the bay and especially around and under the golden gate bridge. I would totally recommend doing this with my friends and family.

Went Sailing on Monday, April 13, 2009 with my partner and Captain Chris.
We had an absolutely fabulous time. From the time we first contacted Chris to the time we finished sailing with him, he was kind, professional and enthusiastic. I guess that’s what you get with an owner operated business. Kudos.
Chris was on time, and ready to go the moment we arrived. We sailed from Fisherman’s Wharf to the Golden Gate Bridge. We were lucky to see surfers UNDER the bridge (Fort Point) as well as about 8 harbour Porpoises swimming close to the boat. Luckily the winds were perfect on the day we went, and sailing was very enjoyable.
Chris did all of the work, which made for lots of time for us to take pictures. He also gave us tons of time around the Golden Gate Bridge to take «money shots» of us on the boat with the bridge in the background… We sailed past Angel Island and around Alcatraz before heading back, while Chris told us a little about each island.

The tour was about 3.5 hours, and worth every penny. Chris made the sail enjoyable with his knowledge and sense of humour. I recommend this to anyone wanting a little «more» out of SF, be it locals or visitors…

My girlfriend arranged our 2 hour sail via email, and everything we asked for was taken care of. The captain makes the trip well worth it, he has a great sense of humor and is super laid back. He’ll take you wherever you want to go aka sausalito and is flexible on hours. I would not recommend for more than 4 people if you all want to sit comfortably.

For the price, this was definitely a fun, interesting, sailing adventure!
Right from the start, Captain Chris was kind, flexible and understanding towards all my last minute plans for my 25^th birthday sail. I invited up to 5 friends and we had a great time. Try to pick a day that’s warmer, or just dress warmly for the unexpected. Their dock is so easy to find, the first boat in the center of pier 39. Chris was friendly and made sure we were all ok.
He sailed us behind angel island towards tiburon and sausilito, near golden gate and back. For our day, the calm waters behind the island gave us a fantastic view and a good tiime to chill.
If i sail again with a small group, i’d book lola. It was a great way to celebrate a birthday rather than the usual.

Captain Chris was awesome! My friends surprised me with a charter boat sailed by Chris for my birthday. He was so much fun, and provided us with a great fare of wine and cheese. He took us to beautiful spots around the bay, and was genuinely excited to take us out. He is passionate about sailing, which enhanced the experience even more. I would love to sail with him again, and will do so in the spring when the good weather returns!
