I did it! I bought my wedding dress! It’s awesome!!! Sample sale price was 70% of with another 10% off when I opened a Saks account! Kathy was so gracious, respectful, and warm, and she even found me the perfect matching veil. I think that there is no better selection of gowns than what you can find here, they are fashion-​forward, exactly what I wanted. Every other salon I went to was plain jane. I guess I set the bar pretty high for myself by making Saks my first stop, because the Vera dress I ended up getting became the dress to beat. And the price was awesome for the quality of dress, fit, creative design, and service I got. Ladies, you need to go to this sale, you will kick yourself if you don’t!!!

Kathy helped me find the gown. Amazingly, they had a sample gown in a size two. It was a surprise gift so HKB went to pick it up. He broke his arm the weekend before though, so they brought it down to the car for him so he didn’t even have to park.

I just bought a Christos dress for 75%off. Sample is in «as new» condition. I am so proud of my purchase!
Sale Update
As of today, they have a handful of couture dresses left (Vera Wang, etc) and a lot of dresses from Reem Acra and similiar (ball gowns with appliqué) which you can buy for under $ 1,000.
The woman who had an appointment before me bought the Vera Wang dress that apparently, Jessica Simpson wore to her wedding. It was stunning — organza, a-​line with lace. Price tag was $ 13,500, but she got 75% off — about $ 4,000!
If you need a wedding gown go today. Seriously. If I had been there 15 minutes earlier I could have scored that Vera Wang
The economy sucks but maybe it is an oK time to be a bride?

Kathy was wonderful and I had a terrific dress experience here. I didn’t end up buying my dress at Saks, but went back twice to try on dresses (they have a beautiful selection). Kathy helped me both times and made it such a nice experience. Though I found a dress I liked better at another shop, I would definitely recommend Saks to anyone wedding dress shopping.

My experience here was great. Kathy helped me and was wonderfully helpful and patient. I’ve been in several times and she always has great suggestions for me, she even pulled some dresses that could be sold as a sample! That said, when Kathy was not available I did get help from another woman who was so unhelpful. She practically ignored me. Most of thier gowns are pretty pricey and from the top designers.
If you can get in with Kathy I recommend going — but before the end of Dec because they are closing down the bridal department.

**STAIN AND SNAG ON DRESS AT FINAL FITTING**
I went all over the City and found the perfect dress at Saks. My original sales associate was great but she quit so I got some new girl who was not helpful AT ALL– she didn’t even tell me that I needed the bra and shoes I was wearing on my wedding day at the first fitting. She wasn’t even around at any of my fittings or bothered to check-​in to make sure the tailor was doing her job. Don’t be fooled by the nice woman on the phone because she is never there.
My first fitting was ok but for my last fitting (10 days before my wedding in Hawaii) there was a huge STAIN and SNAG on the front of my dress. The associate didn’t even notice it because she never bothered to check on the dress before I got there. Once (I found her and) I alerted her to the problem, she said not to worry about it because they can send it to a dry cleaner who can «possibly» get it out (?!?).
They did get the stain out but I had a snag on the front for my wedding day. They gave me a 10% discount, which is nice but doesn’t make up for it.

This was 3^rd salon visit in searching for a dress. Though by phone, making an appointment, they were very nice, the actual visit was much colder. I wish I had had Gina, the woman who answered my calls very nicely, and reference in other reviews. But I did not get her for my visit.
The whole atmosphere was very perfunctory. My consultant/​associate sat down and immediately dived into taking in my info, asking what styles I liked. Did not even introduce herself, so I only caught her name by what she wrote down on the paper. Not many dresses to see yourself in what’s in the front room of the suite. It doesn’t necessarily bother me to not be able to go through racks extensively, as I try to listen and take their advice on what I should try. This is because I am very petite, and am so early in my search.
Though I I did find a designer whose dresses I had never tried on before and whose style I liked, I’m not sure I’ll be back. Solely b/​c of the personal experience. The advice was good, don’t get me wrong, but just not the warmer demeanor of an experience that I would have preferred.

Saks was my worst bridal experience. The woman who helped me was rushed, frantic, and confused. She was perfectly nice, but surprisingly unprofessional. I wasn’t allowed in the back to view all the dresses, which is usually helpful. Saks carries mostly huge puffy princess dresses and the selection wasn’t very good (at least from what I could see).

I bought my wedding dress and was helped by Gina. This was the best experience. Gina listened to me well when I described what I was looking for in a wedding dress. She was very good at selecting dresses for my style and body type. After we purchased the dress, all members of the bridal salon (including the manager Erika) continued to provide stellar customer service even after I had paid for the dress. The alterations were perfect and all on time. Gina provided good advise about jewelry, shoes, and lingerie for the dress. I was given a veil. I would HIGHY recommend this salon for all brides. They never made me feel pressured into buying anything and they all were very friendly, patient and accommodating. The dress itself was beautiful and high quality. I wouldn’t go anywhere else to get a wedding dress if you are looking for excellent dresses, and excellent customer service from start to finish.

I came here in search of the perfect evening dress for my wedding. I was feeling discouraged from the disappointment of the selection at Macys and Nordstroms. I walked into Saks trying to find a dress/​gown section. I met a friendly salesperson (Maria) who was very helpful. She was working on the 2^nd floor and accompanied me to another floor where the gowns were. I had an idea of what I wanted but Maria suggested other gowns that might compliment my body type. She convinced me to try 2 gowns that I normally would not try. She was not pushy and told me that she would put the dress I wanted on hold for 2 days. Saks only has 1 size of every gown and once it’s gone — it’s gone for good. I ended up not purchasing the dress but I did receive a phone call informing me that the dress was on sale if I was still interested. Overall, the service was outstanding compared to other department stores.

I worked with Gina who was incredibly helpful & sweet. She offered my friends & I something to drink (water in champagne glasses) & let us take pictures since we were the only ones in the salon. She also gave me the down low on how to save $ by opening a Saks card (10%) and if you come during an upcoming promo & put $ 3000 on your card (cost of dress) you get $ 450 back which you can use twd your alteration fee. One alteration flat fee which is nice opposed to other salons where you have to pay per visit. Also — you can avoid CA sales tax if you ship to a Saks in another state. I appreciated all of the info & she was really wonderful. Loved some of the Vera Wang dresses I tried on but which they’d carried Monique Lhullier & more destination/​beach type weddign gowns.

One of the most important parts of any wedding for a woman is the gown. Not just any gown. THE GOWN. I found mine here at Saks on a very lucky day. I had tried on about 50 gowns by this time and Saks was my last hope. I’m embarassed to say, but I had spied my dream gown a couple of years before already, but I didn’t know it. You know you’ve done it. Walking through the store, you wander among the white silk and sparkle of the delicate beading, and let your hands gently caress that smooth material. Your imagination goes for a few seconds and you’re about to say «I do» when the salesperson interupts with, «May I help you?»
Well, fast forward to two years later and you suddenly realize that your dream gown was here waiting for you all along. And that’s what happened to me as I was browsing through the current display of gowns. With friendly help from dear Deanna, and her spending 30 minutes in the back trying to find a gown from 2 years ago based on my description, suddenly I’m standing in front of the three way mirror — in my dream gown, complete with veil. I’m a bride!
I was very lucky to be able to get my gown here. Sorry that I went on a bit about my gown search — but once a bride always a bride a heart, right? What I want to say is, I can’t thank Deanna enough for helping me find my dream dress, all the fittings, and making me feel like the most beautiful bride on Earth on my special day. Very professional service, yet totally accommodating to the giddiness of the bride to be.

This is my first Unilocal review, have never done one before but I just finished my last fitting with Kathy and I had to write one! I was so nervous when I started looking for dresses but the minute I stepped into Saks Kathy and Co, did such a great job of making me feel comfortable. Everyone is so kind in there! Kathy never pressured me and really took the time. She actually cares! Manoli and Maria are dress Dr. s, I cant believe the miracles they made. I highly recommend everyone to at least make an appt at Saks, they deliver the ultimate in customer care. Thanks guys!

I went to Bridal Galleria, Amy Kuschel, Neiman Marcus, and Saks. I have appointments with Alexandra Bridal Salon and with Jin Wang, but am going to cancel those. Saks was the best overall experience hands down. Every SF bride should go to Saks bridal!
Excellent service. I think I was the only bride in there at the time, so I basically had the salon to myself. When I arrived, they offered me a beverage and begin helping me immediately. Although my consultant was a few minutes late getting back from lunch, another associate apologized for the delay and kindly stepped in and got me started. Annie helped me with the dresses, and she was great. She was obviously very knowledgeable about fabrics and veils and dresses in general. I knew exactly what I wanted in terms of silhouette and neckline, and Annie delivered. I liked almost every dress she brought to me, which was NOT the case anywhere else.
I am fairly petite and, thus, drown in all sample dresses. However, Annie did a very good job clipping the dresses so that I could see where the seams and detailing would hit my body once they were altered to fit my size. That made all the difference!
My appointment was in the afternoon, and I went back later that day to try on an Amsale dress once more. Although I didn’t have an appointment, Annie graciously let me try the dress on again. I ended up buying the gown.

I met with Kathy a couple of weeks ago to try on an Amsale gown that I was told upon making my appt that they did not carry (they did have the «sister» dress to the one I was interested in).
Kathy had the dress I was interested in sent to Saks (only a week before my appt). It arrived just that morning… I’m still thinking about that dress!
She was etremely helpful and not pushy (my first dress trying stop and very nervous).
Highly recommend this place for service and style… they’ll make you feel like a bride… not a bridezilla!!!
I WILL go back to this place even just for service! I WILL recommend to all of my friends looking for a pretty white dress!

Eventhough the dresses here didn’t work for me, I think the service is excellent — I’d like to express my thanks to the salesperson Gina. She was very patient and helpful, took her time in showing me many dresses. There was no rush feeling — and even more fortunate, I was the only there.

This is the first place where I came to try on wedding dresses since they are open on Sundays. I had no idea what I liked, didn’t like etc… and the sales person Gina was very helpful & kind. She didn’t make me feel like a fat cow since I didn’t fit into most of the sample sizes. She was very creative in making the samples look as flattering as possible.
She let me pick the gowns I’d like to try on, and then she brought me some more that she thought I’d like. I loved that I was the only one in the salon, and my sister and mom were very comfortable in the waiting room looking at magazines & sipping on ice water.
This is a great 1^st place to come to as I got a great idea of styles that looked good on me, and it gives a good sense for comparison in regards to prices and quality.

Although I was married in 2005 I had to throw my $ 0.02 in. I actually purchased my Vera Wang gown at the South Coast Plaza Saks and was worried that since they didn’t get my sale that I would have a hard time with the alterations.
I was completely wrong. They gave me such wonderful service. I worked exclusively with the bridal manager at the time, Mojdeh, and she made sure that our 2^nd payment was made on a day where I received the maximum points on my Saks card.
I was extremely picky about my bustle and had the alterations lady undo and redo it twice. There were no complaints at all. They kept telling me that they wanted me to be totally happy with it.
When I found out 2 weeks before the wedding that the veil I planned on borrowing from my sister didn’t match, she rushed the ordering of my veil to make sure that I got the one I wanted. She was also the person that found the stole I wanted. I had searched high and low for the perfect wrap for my dress and low and behold it was sitting in the bridal salon.
Since we had an hour drive to our wedding destination, when I picked up my dress, they had everything neatly and efficiently packed together. Dress, Veil, and wrap, with my receipts and gift cards tucked into the pocket.
I completely recommend them! PS Melanie, when we purchased my dress at South Coast Plaza, they offered us champagne. :-P

I had an excellent experience shopping for my gown here. The women here not only helped me find ‘the dress’, they helped me save something like 15% off it.
Two tips: 1. Open a Sak FIfth Avenue Mastercard account. You don’t have to use it to buy your dress, but you do save 10% off of your dress if you open the card in conjunction with that purchase. 2. Saks Bridal Salon has this customer appreciation thing that happens about every 6 weeks or so where if you pay for the dress on that day you get your alterations comped. You pretty much have to have some part of your dress altered, and you’ll want to do it here. It costs a flat $ 475 fee regardless. If they don’t offer this information to you ask about it, they will make it happen.
Kathy and Gina are the two girls that have helped me, I would certainly reccomend you ask for them.
