Join the SF Improv Collective for an evening of laughter, variety and adventure — all made up on the spot from YOUR suggestions! Don’t miss what 7×7 SF Magazine called «One of the 17 Ways to Laugh Your Ass Off in San Francisco.»
Our theater is located in the heart of Union Square, an easy walk from hotels, bars and restaurants, as well as BART/MUNI and the Sutter-Stockton parking garage.
Each SFIC show includes two 45-min acts, with a 10-min intermission:
— ACT 1 features the SFIC players, our house troupe, performing fast-paced hilarious improv scenes and games
— ACT 2 features a full story created in front of you based on your suggestions, in the style of our guest troupe that night*: Star Trek, Silent Movies, Broadway Musicals, Twilight Zone…
Every SF Improv Collective show is unique, fun, and fast-paced. With two very different halves, you’re sure to leave with a smile on your face.
History
Established in 2013.
In February 2013, Benoit, Carrie, Drew, Gemma, Laura, Nathan, and Shawn created the San Francisco Improv Collective (SFIC) to provide a performance stage for up-and-coming improv groups. Rather than be just one troupe, the Collective originally brought to the same stage Phasers on Stun, the Lombard Street Experiment, Shut Up and Kiss Me, and the Occupants.
Today, in addition to new groups such as Fractured Dimensions and YesSing!, the Collective members have developed their own performing ensemble, the SFIC Players, who will delight you during the first half of the show. As part of its commitment to the SF Improv scene, the Collective also sometimes invites outside troupes (eg An Improv Team Named Desire, Out of Line), as well as individual guest players, to share the stage with them.
It’s been an amazing journey and we are so grateful to our audiences for their support and laughter!
