San Francisco Rinse Laundromat

I’m on a lengthy business trip in SF and needed to get some laundry done. I saw the reviews of this place and decided to haul my suitcase a little further up the road since it seemed better than the others nearby.
First surprise — The change machine doesn’t work (had to go to two markets to get enough quarters).
I return with quarters and go to buy detergent. Second surprise? The machine is jammed, doesn’t work. Back to the market! We are now sharing the detergent I bought.
They advertise Free Wifi, but it’s only an hour trial with Xfinity, then you need to pay.
I don’t expect a lot from a coin laundry place, but this place certainly wasn’t «as advertised». For a busy Saturday, I’d expect someone to have checked to ensure people could get change and soap…

Lots of washers which work just fine, but I am pretty sure at least 25% of the dryers don’t work, and they aren’t all marked that they do not work. It is hard to find a time when I go where my first try with a dryer hits the jackpot and it actually heats up. Come here if you find joy in moving clothes from dryer to dryer, and feel like donating some quarters.
Recommendation to Owner:
1. Fix the dryers
2. If fixing is not possible, then label which dryers don’t work
3. If you don’t know which ones don’t work, leave your Out of Service stickers, a post-​it note pad with a pen, anything where customers can label dryers they find out as out of service.

Hey Owner! Keep up the good work. I’ve been going to the laundromat down the street for like 8 years cause it’s closer. It was packed the other night and I couldn’t wait so I came to this place. Holy Cow! I wish I could turn back time, the owner cares about this Laundromat!
I would have come here long ago. Nice big machines. Efficient, easy to use, clean and New! Dryers work well and I get 6 Minutes per quarter. (A minute more than the other place.) don’t change this, ever! I am a total convert and will be coming here from now on because the owner clearly invests in his establishment.

Lots o’ washers and dryers, reasonable prices, and no random people loitering around for non-​laundry related reasons. The machines work too, which is pretty important. There is some kind of drop off dry cleaning service too.
Basically, it’s a laundromat.

Great place to wash your clothes esp when you have a lot. Clean clean clean. Laundry day is becoming a fun day

VERY CLEAN, and instructions were all straightforward.
I was very impressed by this laundromat. For safety, there are cameras. Sometimes a police officer also comes by to check out the place. At first, I thought he was doing laundry LOL but he was on duty, so that was nice. Besides, this neighborhood is SO NICE, this laundromat’s style complements the local area.
I also like the Wednesday discounted price for each load.
However, the hilly roads were a bit much. It’s ok I guess! Consider it exercise.

Clean, quiet, and good customer service. I go here whenever I have a bunch of stuff eventhough there are closer places because it’s never too crowded and the machines seem really reliable.

After leaving a big bad tech company with a free laundry room, I had to endure the horror of finding a laundromat near my apartment on Polk.
I had a couple bad experiences at closer laundromats, including seeing prophylactics in empty washing machines.
This place is by far the cleanest laundromat in the area. Wednesday is the cheapest and there are plenty of washers to go around.
I literally pass 4 other laundromats to get to this one.

Definitely worth walking to this place even if you have a closer laundromat.
I used to always go to the laundromat on Leavenworth just above Bush but that place ruins my clothes consistently.
One time he was changing out the quarters in all the machines and I had to wait for like 5 minutes. He gave me a wash discount and I thought that was really awesome.
WiFi, nice variety of front loaders. Will only go here from now on. I just made the mistake of being lazy and crossing the street this morning and once again I have several items with grease spots on them now.
I have never had ANY problem at SF Rinse.
Wednesday wash deal is great and the hours are more than adequate for any schedule.

This is a good place to wash and good washer and dryer. It you come to wash it is a good place to go.

This place is worth walking up the two huge hills to get here! The Wednesday deal where the wash is $ 1.75, I can’t believe it! The place I used to go to was $ 3.75, and the only reason I would go there was because it’s conveniently right next to my apartment building, but it wasn’t the cleanest place, and there are only 2 okay washers and dryers, not worth the money. The dryers are a good price too, $.25 for every 6 minutes, and they’re huge! I did two washes and then I just put everything into one dryer for 24 minutes and it came out perfectly!
Update: some of the dryers don’t work/​/​: the first time, everything went well. The second time I came I had to switch dryers because the first one didn’t dry anything and it wasn’t even hot after 24 minutes! The other dryer did a decent job. Most of the dryers don’t do that well of a job, so it makes you have to put in more quarters to dry your clothes even if it’s not that big of a load. Took away 2 stars for that.
UPDATE: The owner contacted me and is working to resolve the problem, and offered to refund. The lost money isn’t a huge deal but it’s just the fact that he cares about his customers concerns that goes a long way, not a lot of business owners are like that and it’s awesome to see that!

This is without a doubt the nicest laundromat I have ever been to. Its clean, well lit and the machines are usually all working. Every so often you get a dryer that won’t close, but since there is so many it doesn’t really matter. Prices are very good. $ 2.75 for a big load of laundry is pretty fair I think. If that is still too much for you, they got a special on Wednesdays. They also got an ATM and change machine inside as well as a vending machine for detergent and fabric softener. All in all a great spot. Glad to have a nice place to wash my clothes in the neighborhood.

Just came back from doing my laundry.
On a Saturday at 2 pm, there were only two other people doing their laundry and about 90% of the other machines were free. Prices were a bit steep ($ 2.75/wash and $ 0.25÷6 mins to dry). Would like to see them decrease the wash by $.25 to .50.
Otherwise, very pleased with the laundromat. It’s clean, bright and also features a «SwapBox» to pick up your packages (though, I’m not sure how it works).
There’s a door with a big EXIT sign and I saw some people leave out of it but I’m not sure how to open the door… I suspect it’s a time warp.

This is the second time we have gone here and i have to say, my boyfriend and i are impressed. The owner is really nice and let us do our laundry after they were closing. They had free samples of Cybell’s breakfast pizza. The place has good prices and very close. Highly recommend.

I think this laundromat opened fairly recently. The cost per load can add up quickly — $ 2.25 for washes & $ 1 for 24 minutes (or 25 cents per 6 minutes) for the dryer. But the machines are big and I can fit in larger loads than I normally could with my apartment’s machines. The pricing for the dryer seems unfair at first but it usually doesn’t take more than $ 1 per load. Unless I’m washing something thick like blankets or towels, I can usually dry a full load with 3 – 4 quarters.
What I like about this place is that although there is no one on full-​time duty, the provisions are still decent. There are two change machines and an ATM, and a dispenser for purchasing individual packets of soap if you forget your detergent. I think there’s even coffee on weekend mornings. What really won my approval was an incident this morning: a laundromat employee happened to be in and walked around asking us if the machines were working okay. I pointed out that some of the buttons on one of the dryers I was using weren’t working. He apologized, offered to let me use another machine for free, and even handed me a few extra quarters — a gesture that I really appreciated!

When the BF and I were looking at apartments — we viewed one conveniently attached to the same building as Jones St. Laundry. We noticed the place was closed and didn’t seem that awesome. Come a few months later we moved in across the street and they re-​opened the laundromat! Now called SF Rinse.
It actually looks great from the inside, lots of industrial, heavy-​duty machines. Advertising galore and in a great location. Tons of machines and not only steps down but wheelchair access.
PS — My BF has officially banned me from laundry duty.
