History

Established in 2012.

SDM was founded in December 2012 by Stephen D. Mayer, former CEO and co-​founder of Burr Pilger Mayer, with seven employees and only a handful of clients. We now have over 27 employees, 200 clients, and a fully integrated approach to client services. We were honored to be recognized as one of the «Best Places to Work» by the Bay Area Business Times in 2014.

Business Owner

Steve’s 35 years of professional experience working with individuals as well as private and public businesses has touched almost every side of SD Mayer & Associates’ practice areas of accounting, tax, consulting, and wealth management. His services have included audits and reviews of financial statements, implementation of computer and accounting systems, preparation of forecasts and budgets, litigation support, bankruptcy consultation, valuations, and business plan and loan package development. In addition, he has consulted with management concerning SEC requirements, mergers, reorganization and acquisition of businesses, and negotiation of venture capital financing.
