It’s a fashion show, so of course, it’s fun & I like it. It was at a nice location & there were some cool designs. However, let’s be honest, it was SF fashion week, not NY, not London & as one can expect, it lacked professionalism. The problem is, it lacked A LOT of professionalism. I cannot even count the number of times models tripped over their dresses, almost bumped into each other, or just failed to walk properly down the runway. The timing was super super off. One would think the show would be better planned. I must admit it was pretty embarrassing & glaringly obvious. I felt kinda bad for ‘em. That aside, there were a few designs & designers I liked. If only the program had more information, I could tell you their names. Another disappointment. Really, with the way it was organized, you could not tell what collection belonged to which designer. That was unfortunate. However, there were some — not a lot, not a couple — let’s say a few, great pieces. There were 2 or 3 I absolutely loved — not adored — loved, but whatever. My little dream is that SF grows & commands much much more of a presence in the fashion world. I think some of that is occurring w/the quality of the programs at places such as Academy of Art. I heard their fashion show is the best in the area. I feel like a soccer mom who just watched her kid deliver a lackluster performance. In this scenario, I believe the thing to say would be «Good effort!» or «Great try!!» Since I’m feeling generous right about now & don’t want to bash what I would like to see grow & prosper, I give it 3 stars.
