We believe in love and learning. Our focus is to give the joy of Jewish identity through music, art, and celebration. Our teachers take a very proactive approach to teaching and they truly have a learn for the students.

History

Established in 1997.

Through music and art we created a Jewish school 19 years ago for children 18 months — 5 years old. We have grown and came to our present location next to Golden Gate Park and the Fulton Playground in 2003. We have our nature lab next door and our outdoor space with full opportunities for sports with every kind of play structure.

Our goal is to bring the joy of discovery of the world of nature and to your child.

Our vision is to support families in developing the minds, hearts and souls of young children. Through hands on experiences, each child receives a personal way for their growth and learning to come alive.

We celebrate Jewish life daily and the children naturally integrate their sense of self along with their Jewish identity.

Meet the Manager

Hinda L.

Manager

Hinda Langer, founder and director of Shalom School, is passionate about young children and their education since 1985 when she founded Beth Meir Schoolhouse in Orinda.

After moving to SF, in 1997 she founded and is now director of Shalom School.

‘We are creating a foundation for emotional security, good values in daily life and developing skills in children that will last a lifetime, «says Hinda.
