Incredibly poor customer service. Closed and locked the door early even though the associate was inside and not busy. Security guard asked the associate if he can open the door, she sized me up and she said no. If you’re looking to make a large ticket purchase such as a ring and want the customer service that should come with it, I recommend you look somewhere where they care more than what was shown to me here.

Great watch buying experience! Arya is very knowledgeable about watches and offers great advice. He’s patient, well informed and very nice to deal with. Having bought a couple of watches from him, I can thoroughly recommend it!

This guys don’t give a damn about their customers or telling the truth about the services they offer. I brought them a watch for service. They assured me the turn around time was 4 – 5 weeks (very slow but I wanted it serviced by the manufacturer). I agreed and paid $ 100 just for shipping. Two weeks later I called because no one had contacted me. Now their story changed: The repair will take 4 – 5 months! And they were very rude about the whole matter. Avoid these guys. Unless you like being lectured on the phone by some smart aleck kid.

Shapur is absolutely delightful. He helped design my wife’s wedding and engagement rings and my wedding band and they’re all perfect. We could not be happier.
My wife is opposed to diamonds and the ring I bought to propose was a long shot (a pearl) and we needed to replace it with something she could wear everyday and love. She decided on a sapphire. It’s really hard to find a beautiful sapphire solitaire off the shelf and we set about creating one. We knew the band and gem wouldn’t have to be expensive but wanted a high quality jeweler who would let us be creative without adding in exorbitant costs. We walked into Shapur’s store with some anxiety given the average cost of the pieces he creates. He was perfect though. He gave us feedback on our vision but didn’t impose his tastes on us. The ring he made was exactly what we designed and within our modest budget.
We came back for our wedding rings and have been back repeatedly to adjust the sizings and get his recommendations for care.
His care and consideration made designing the rings one of the highlights of our wedding process!

This review encapsulates much of what other reviewers write about (rudeness etc) but mind you I came in to replace a worn watch band on a $ 10,000 watch, so I was not a client who was hoping to spend $ 50 on a trinket and leaving upset when all they sell are $ 5K items. The bands cost $ 500-​$ 2,000 so i was clearly spending money and I had the potential to be a long term client and was treated worse than one gets by going into a low level store. Frankly I don’t care so much as its a good lesson even when you are willing to spend money and have the potential to spend much more, some places think they are too good for some.
So here is the story:
I called the store as they are the only San Francisco store to carry the Girard Perregaux line of men’s watches. They asked me to come in to inspect the watch so they could order me the proper band. I appreciated their approach as it would be mistake to order a band without seeing exactly what make/​model and year of the watch as GP makes many variations and this was purchased in 2001.
When I came into the store, the attitude changed dramatically. Right when I walked in i was treated rudely by the younger of the two people who run the store as I had jeans and a blazer on. I told him I had called and he slightly remembered the encounter. He inspected the watch and began to take the information to order it over the phone without even bothering to consult about the price or availability of the band. He just assumed I would order whatever he told me no matter. He was asking for a credit card for the order when I asked him for a price and time to procure the band. Right then he got very angry. He mumbled that he would have to call the brand to check and he would get back to me when he knew more. He was sort of surprised and shocked I would even ask as if he is the only person who can procure such band in all of America. I am not sure who gives out their credit card to purchase something they don’t know the price of, regardless if you are spending $ 10 or $ 10K.
So I left my information, took a card and joked to myself and my wife that he would likely not call. So I waited for a call. And waited. And two weeks later and no call. Sure I could call, but I think the attitude speaks for itself. I am going to call the dealer in San Jose or LA with the information I have so I can get it shipped out here.
I didn’t come in to get pampered and to feel like I am rich and important. I came in to spend $ 500-​$ 2,000 in a 1−2−3 transaction with the hope I would get good service so I would leave and consider spending real money on something down the line. Unfortunately I got the sense if you really don’t plan on spending $ 10K that moment, there is no point of going in. I could easily spend on something special in there anytime so its a shame when bad services is rewarded, hence the review

Sorry to say but we’ve definitely had better experiences at jewelry stores than what just happened here at Shapur Mozaffarian
I’d always made a point to gaze longingly in the windows of this lovely shop every time I’ve walked by & finally, I could no longer resist the lovely set of pearl drop earrings in their windows
The Mr & I entered & when I advised the gentleman I was interested in the earrings in his window, his response was «yes»
So I had to go the extra step & ask if he would mind going to the trouble of taking them out of the window so I could maybe *see* them
When I start to ask for details around the size of the pearl or total carat weight of the diamond filigree, or even the source metal… he has no idea & there is no tag associated w/​these earrings to provide this (or any) info
Then a woman walks halfway downstairs & shouts to us that they’re either $ 19 or $ 20K…but she doesn’t know the size of the pearl or anything else about the earrings — including, obviously, the correct price
But thanks for shouting & not even coming to speak to us, personally
And…with ALL that helpful information, guess we’ll be taking our business elsewhere, to a place where people are actually proud of their stock & knowledgeable about their pieces as well as prices & WANT to help us welcome a lovely treasure into our homes

I have been searching for a new watch for a while now. I was recommend to Shapor by a close friend of mine. The customer service i received from my first visit was outstanding, they were very professional and informative. Arya was able to answer all my questions and show my all the pieces that caught my eye. After narrowing down my 2 top choice options, i had to leave and think about it. I came back shortly and picked up my Rose Gold AP. They have a vast variety of watches and they services is suburb. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone searching for a expensive or exclusive pieces.

I came in to Shapur some time ago, specifically looking for mens watches. I glanced over their other jewelry briefly which looked striking, but I really can’t comment on what was there, because I didn’t really care (not until I’m buying jewelry for someone else, that is).
Definitely check this place out if you live/​work downtown. It’s a two-​level retail store with all the best brands in the world (IMO). I purchased a Big Bang from them (and have considered special ordering the AP Survivor as a personal treat to myself in the coming years).
Let’s be honest, nothing in here is inexpensive, but like all things you get what you pay for. If you’re in the market to upgrade, stop and talk to these guys first! Highly knowledgeable and very kind disposition. Thanks again, you guys are my first and last stop in SF.

My husband and I have been doing our watch purchases at Shapur for about five years now… so this review is slightly tardy.
Not only does Shapur sell the highest quality watches, but the service is exceptional. The family owned business is very accommodating and ensures that our wants are met with the exceptional products.
This is a luxury jewelry shop. Some of the customer reviews appear to have been disappointed by Shapur, but I would like to clarify that Shapur is a place where you spend «big» money. The higher your budget, the more you will find and the more you will appreciate this store.
I really enjoy going to Shapur because of the products and most importantly, the perfect service I have received throughout the years.

The Mr. and Mrs. Mozaffarian were incredibly helpful and gracious to me. I visited their store without know much about fine jewelry but knowing I wanted to purchase some diamond earrings for my wife for Christmas. They were so kind and asked questions I had not even considered (Were these to be special occasion earrings or for every-​day wear?). They made it easy for me to make my selection. Needless to say, my wife loved the earrings!

I have been going to Shapur for several years now. The watch collection is impressive. I like the fact it is a family business and I don’t have to deal with high pressure sales staff like other stores who are more like coin operators.
I have become a regular client and have brought several of my friends who also appreciate the service and the collection.

The Mozaffarian name has been synonymous with jewelry for centuries and Shapur (and son Arya) are no different. I absolutely love the store; great service and great value. I have purchased three watches from them over the past few years and I keep coming back because they offer the best service and price — the latter by far.
You can come in, walk around and explore the vast selection of AP, Chopard and UN watches. If you’d like something that they don’t stock (IWC), they’ll sit down, see what you are looking for and custom order it for you. They ship overnight to anywhere in the US as well.
Further, I’ve purchased gifts for friends and family here. Terrific quality at a fraction of the price of the chain stores (Tiffany, Cartier etc — lets face it, they are chain). If the gift receiver doesn’t like what she’s getting, you can bring it back and they’re very helpful with exchanging. They’ll even *make* you jewelry here. Show them what you want and a few weeks later its made — and always of a high quality.
The family is so personable that I am actually good friends with Arya now (he’s a big sushi fan… feed him sushi and he’ll offer you even better prices). And even when I am not looking to buy anything, I’ll just stop by to say hi. No pressure to buy. Just great swag to look at!

After trying to find an engagement ring in all the big names stores around town — Tiffany, Bvlgari, Graff, Shreve and Cartier nothing really jumped out at me. My girlfriend is a unique women and a standard ring just was not befitting. I started looking at jewelers who could custom design a ring. I ended up at a place in a small suite next door to Shreve that just didn’t inspire any confidence.
I ended up at Shapur jewelers. I was a slightly put off by the one star reviews but it seems like most of them are from people that were irritated by the coldness of the staff. Honestly, you may not get the commission motivated sales patter of the big stores but what you will get is unbeatable workmanship at a great price. They helped me design a one off flower ring that consisted of 5 GIA certified 0.7 carat pear shape diamonds on a platinum setting. They delivered an outstanding ring which would cost over $ 50,000 at another store for under $ 20,000 in less than 2 weeks.
Everyone who sees the ring is completely blown away. I highly recommend Shapur for anyone serious about jewelry and quality for a great price. Tell them Ravi sent you!

Shapur has the best selection of fine watches. The team at Shapur were very experienced and knowledgeable in helping me choose my watch. They were kind, professional, and informative as the selection process was at times overwhelming for me.
I know that I am in good hands when I walk into that store and look forward to my next purchase.

worst service I’ve ever experienced.
I came in to repair my AP watch, upon inspection the young man accused me of it being a fake, and said stated that they can’t send fakes back to AP Geneve. Though I purchased it in an official Audemars Piguet Store in HongKong. There is a woman at the end desk, (presuming the wife) of the Store Owner (Shapur) who uses a jewelry display table as his work desk. The young man is obviously the son who has no level of service experience at all. By far the rudest family I’ve ever met. period.

I have been in several times over several years and always with been treated with courtesy and respect. I am usually casually dressed. I have only purchased one item, earrings for my daughter’s wedding of french design that may be my favorite piece of jewelry. On occasions when I have looked and not bought I don’t feel I have been treated any differently. The merchandise has some of the best design I have seen anywhere
and the quality is excellent. I definitely hope I will buy from here again.

Words can not express how happy I am with the my engagement ring purchase at Shapur Mozaffarian jewelers.
I met with Shapur multiple times on finding the right center stone as well creating the ring setting itself. Shapur is genuine, soft spoken and is extremely patient. I thought I knew a decent amount about diamonds and rings, but that all changed after my first meeting with Shapur. He not only educated me on diamonds (cut, color, dimensions, grade etc.), but he always had my best interest at heart. I never once felt obligated to buy or felt like I was being rushed to buy something from his store.
I personally wanted to buy here, because I knew I was getting the best «top» quality diamond there was out there. I only want to get my girl the finest!
It took some time for Shapur to find the perfect cut diamond, and when he found one and showed me on our 2^nd meeting, I was in love! It was beautiful.
Now on to creating the ring setting. I was very indecisive, since my girlfriend loves so many different ring styles and I wanted to make sure to get her the perfect setting. I know she liked a halo setting but she liked others as well. Shapur was very patient with me and drew out a few settings and gave me his preference, based on his expertise, on what will look good with the stone I picked. I went with his preference and arrived a week later to pick up the ring.
I was in a loss for words after I saw the ring. I was extremely happy and speechless. It was the perfect ring that I had hoped it would be and even nicer that I can ever imagine.
My fiancé loves it and says it’s «perfect» as we’ll :). I had a wonderful experience with Shapur. I would recommend Shapur to anyone who is looking for a world class jeweler.

Wow, I’ve never been so rudely treated in all my life, especially when trying to drop cash at someone’s little store.
I was looking for something special for my sweetie for Valentine’s Day, and I happened upon this shop.
They looked at me like I was some sort of street trash wanting to to take a look at their jewelery.
I told them I was looking to spend about $ 1K and they said, «No, we don’t have anything,» and shooshed me to the door.
Totally rude, and I hope they go out of business.
I went up to Tiffany and Co. and bought some really nice pearl earrings, My lady loved them!

I was extremely disappointed with my experience here. My friend and I just started to look for engagement rings (her boyfriend said she start looking to see what she likes) and Shapur was our second stop.
Upon entering, there was Shapur reading a catalog and so we walked up to him and told him what we were looking for. He glanced at us, pointed at the case we were all standing at, and then went back to his catalog. I even had to ask him to lift the paper off the glass so we could see the rings.
I don’t understand how anyone would want to buy from him. He obviously thought we weren’t worth his time and wanted us to know it.
I would NEVER recommend him to anyone.
