Some people who purchased the Groupon complain, but I knew what I was getting into before coming here so my expectations were set right.
I’m definitely a massage snob. I admit it. I’ve probably had hundreds of Thai massages in my life both in the motherland and many places in the USA. This place ranks as one of the better, but not «the best» massages places I been to.
My masseuse for session was Jenny, who I’m pretty sure was a «kathoey» which I’m totally okay with. I think the receptionist took me literally when she asked for I wanted a male or female masseuse — I said «both is ok» LOL!
Jenny had incredible pressure but I felt some points of the massage were pure pressure and not enough finesse. I’m a large guy, so I understand the difficult sometimes — I usually ask for male masseuses for the fact I’m here to get some mobility and tension release from sports or CrossFit.
VERY busy, VERY popular place! Make your reservation in advance, because if it’s Friday you’re not going to get a same day appointment for sure. The massage quality was pretty good. I was moved into two different rooms due to the business of the spa (reshuffling and consolidating people).
That part doesn’t really bother me, but it might bother some. I also think it had to do with me being a bit larger than most customers (I’m 6’1 290 lbs and play rugby, think if a 49er offensive lineman showed up for a rub down).
Two thumbs up, I wanted to find a good massage near work — I think I found it!

The therapist was nice but the massage hurt even though I voiced the pressure was too hard. The thing I really didn’t like is that the place wasn’t too much of a healing environment in regards to the staff. The front desk lady was very impersonal. when I told her this was my first thai massage, she had no feedback or advice, which could be one reason the massage hurt. She would look at her phone while talking to me as well. So in the end, ‘too much of a business’.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and authentic Thai Massage. If you go ask for Linda! She was fantastic! Felt so relaxed and energized after the visit.

All the reviews are true, and then some. I’ll probably never get a regular massage again. I always thought massages are too expensive to get regularly but after this amazing one, I might consider it.
It was a great experience from the moment I walked in. The staff was friendly, the place is calm and serene, and the massage was exactly what I needed. I had a serious kink in my neck that made it hard to move. Sandy got everything out and I really feel like I pushed myself with the pressure level but it paid off.
If you’re using the steam room, bring extra undies or go commando!

The place was peaceful and tranquil. My masseuse was great, she set relaxing tone yet and checked throughout the massage that I was ok with the pressure. I would definitely go back!

This place is amazing! I’m not usually one for massages, but decided to give it a try and have now been here 3 times because it’s that good. The massages are expertly done. Audy is the best — he focused my traditional Thai massage on my back and shoulders, and really worked to get knots out! He also checked in periodically to make sure he was applying the level of pressure I wanted. The facilities are unique in that you get your own private room for yourself or you and a friend (if you choose to book together). Will definitely be turning this into a monthly thing.
This place is a great value generally, and an absolute steal with the Groupon offer they have. If you take advantage, remember to tip according to the original and not discounted value!

Every time I come here, I’m reminded that Thai Massage is the BEST massage. This place is beautiful in every sense — look, feel, and smell. Service is professional and friendly. I love the hot tea. The massage rooms and bathrooms are all squeaky clean and smell super ZEN! I’ve have maybe 3 – 4 different female massage therapists here and they are all good!
Once you go Thai, you definitely don’t go back.

As this was recommended by my friend, I came here to try it out. I recently had a really painful massage in LA and was a little scared. Two ladies greeted us at the door when we entered. They were really nice and had us filled out a short questionnaire. It asked us basic questions like if we ever had a Thai massage, what pressure we were interested in (which I really liked because I’d rather them know ahead of time than changing pressure after the fact of hurting me – like the place in LA), and another question was which areas I’d like for them to focus on. I’ve had a foot surgery in the past and there was a section that allowed me to add that in so that they knew how to cater to me.
I didn’t get the name of the lady who helped me, but I really liked her! I guess I can say she really knew her own strength. To be honest, Thai massages are suppose to be a little painful so I’ll admit it hurt a little at some points. But it hurt so good! I didn’t experience any bruising or Indian burn from excessive kneading against my skin without proper lotion lubrication (again some massage parlor in LA). She massaged the knots on my shoulder out and also gave me a good stretch. She also offered the steam room to us afterwards but we politely declined because we had to be someone.
Aside from the service, the décor was really nice. I didn’t take any pictures but the inside of the place was nicely themed and smelled nice. It felt clean and they even provided us with a clean change of clothes to wear. It was very traditional looking attire. They played this peaceful music as they massaged us.
Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. Just as a heads up, Thai massages are not something you can sleep through. They use their hands and their feet to massage you and it’s definitely an interesting yet effective technique. I would do this again AND recommend this to a friend.

Ok, so this is the first time I’ve ever had a Thai massage and I seriously cannot go back to a traditional message ever again. I was venturing on Unilocal for a good place for a massage with my husband since we were driving out to the city for the day. Came across this establishment and realized everyone has been using a Groupon voucher. Luckily, there was a Groupon deal online (which is only good for Thai massages by the way). I was really hoping for a deep tissue massage but decided to opt for the Thai because of the great pricing online. For $ 59 — the deal was good for a 60 minute massage + 15 minute foot massage + 20 minute steam room.
The location of the place is in a sketchy area. When I say sketchy, I mean it was off Market in an area where many bums were hanging out at. I clearly remember walking down Market hanging on tight to my purse and my husband was very cautious of my surroundings as well! The façade of this establishment made me feel a little leery, but the high recommendations on Unilocal prevented me from walking away. We were greeted by a lovely lady at the front desk when we walked in and didn’t have to wait long before we were brought back to our room.
The massage was a little different from what I’m used to. They actually give you clothes to wear during your massage; there is no skin to skin contact! I was provided a loose fitting tank top and pants that were quite comfortable. Our massage started off with a foot massage. The foot massage was ammmmazing. The pressure was perfect and Pauline definitely hit all the pressure points on my foot. We then laid down face down on the bed and Pauline worked her magic. She stretched me in areas of my body that I didn’t know could be stretched! The massage was a combination use of elbows, hands, and lots of stretching. I think she may have actually used her foot to step on me a few times as well… which I guess explains the bar above the bed and ropes
to grab onto. The body massage was 60 minutes long and the pressure was consistent throughout. She pushed out my knots on my shoulders which relieved a lot of tension on my back. Pauline is petite little girl, but don’t underestimate her size! That girl is powerful. Although our package included a 20 minute steam room, we didn’t care much for it and left after our massage.
The only complaint I have about this place is the faucet on the other side of the room we were in. (We were in the last room to the right at the very end of the hall.) It really disturbed the vibe every time the faucet went off. It was very loud and really ruined the «peaceful» moment.
All in all, this place is LEGIT. Though it may not be in the best area and parking may be a b*tch to find, it is totally worth coming to. I totally felt like a marshmallow after my massage. This place is 5 stars for a reason on Unilocal

Came here as part of my spa day. Got a Groupon that morning and scheduled an appt that afternoon! Everyone was SO NICE there! And super attentive. My massage was a Thai massage that included a foot massage and sauna. I don’t massages often, but this by far was the best massage ever. Although I felt pain, the masseuse was very good at working my knots and focusing on my neck/​shoulders where it was the most tense. After, I sat in the sauna for 10 min, which was very steamy. They also have SHOWERS with shampoo and soap!!! There are hair dryers, straighteners, all these vanity stuff. It was great. The palce is super clean and smelled nice. Will be coming back.

I’ve had many massages performed here, but today’s appointment was hands down the best with the masseuse by name of Judy!!!
After working 62 hour week, feel like new.

Siam Orchid is a good choice if you are looking for a traditional Thai massage. The place is small and simply-​decorated, but does not have a «cheap» feeling when you walk in the door. Best of all, you will feel safe there.
My wife and I chose a couples traditional pra kob massage. Making an online appointment was easy, and we received a confirmation call the day before.
When we arrived, we were offered tea by an energetic woman whom we believe was the owner. She was running around a lot, taking care of business, and answering calls while helping us. She was apologetic about it, but probably should have had someone else helping her out.
The treatment room was clean and organized. The masseuses were extremely professional, checking several times during our massages to ensure they were using appropriate pressure. They also did a very good job focusing on areas we mentioned to them. They were thorough and utilized a variety of well-​practiced techniques throughout our massages. After the massages, my wife and I both felt relaxed, yet energized.
Here’s the skinny. .. Siam Orchid is not one of those large, fancy, destination full-​service spas. However, if you are looking for a safe, affordable and professional place to get a Thai massage, it is most definitely a solid choice.

Trust the 5 star reviews for this place. You know how from the moment you walk into Disneyland, you just *feel* like you’ve walked into another world because of all the attention to detail? This is how I felt when I walked in here. Warm wood colors, bamboo, green plants, a dark hallway lined with mini tea lights– yup, it’s an urban oasis.
My hairdresser Addison recommended this spot and I couldn’t resist when I found the groupon deal for $ 50. The deal came with a 15 minute foot massage and a 60 minute full body massage. Umm hello?! You can’t beat that for the price.
Given that it was my first time experiencing a true Thai massage, I was excited to try it. I walked into my private room, undressed and put on some oversized flow-​y black pants and loose fitting sleeveless tank that the lady handed to me. She directed me to soak my feet in some hot sudsy water and then came back to start off with my foot massage.
She then had me climb up onto the platform so I could lay on the makeshift bed where I laid face down for her to start the massage. I’m not going to lie. Thai massage is not like Swedish where it’s light-​medium pressure and everything feels great. I would compare it more to Deep Tissue because at times it was painful. Whether it was her knees, feet or hands, she was really working into my muscles to get the knots out and I was sweating in the process.
When it was all over and done with, We got to have use of the steam room for an additional 20 minutes. Now *this* was the best steam room I’ve ever been in. The steam was so thick that you couldn’t see past your fingers if you put your hand in front of you. It literally feels like you’re in a white hot cloud in there. Loved it.

It must have been a busy day for them that when we arrived the receptionist was busy talking loudly on the phone, she might have been taking a reservation at that time plus it was already 7PM, so I would have to say that it wasn’t a calming welcome. But they were still polite.
I had a 15 minute foot soak/​massage, 60 minute thai massage and 20 min steam room access.
Nice décor and private rooms, they also had rooms for couples. Clean shower room. Steam room was also nice but there was too much steam that I could barely see anything but I still love it. Haha!
The soothing music could not hide the noise from outside though, they could’ve been more gentle with closing the door and lowering down their voices. The irony is they had a sign that said «quiet please, massage in session».
Its nice that they ask what areas you wanted them to focus on more, and I said my shoulders and back. And the lady did just that. I love thai massage, any kind of massage actually. In my line of work, where I stand most of the time, lift heavy patients and walk around a lot in a 12 hour shift, a massage is a luxury.
Overall, I am just happy to be getting a well deserved massage.

If I could give more stars, I would. Conveniently located near Market/​Polk/​Larkin and the Civic Center BART, Siam Orchid offers relaxation. Online booking, friendly and efficient staff and same day appointments are a god-​send.
I opted for Aroma Massage, which is a combo of Swedish and Thai with aromatic oils. I had a major stress headache when I entered, but I left feeling like molten chocolate. Plus, it was inexpensive, about $ 75, for an hour of bliss.
My therapist was SONG. Pressure was firm and therapeutic and she incorporated stretching at the end, which definitely reminded me of pure Thai massage. With my current work/​life stress and weight training schedule for my next competition, I will definitely be back in another week.

If you are tired of some spotty massage place, and looking for some legit and traditional thai massage, come to siam orchard, they wont disappoint you! i love this place so much!
So here’s the deal, i got the 90mins traditional thai massage groupon online, and luckily they had same day appointment available. I was impressed by their interior décor, very tropical style. The room was very clean and tidy, and the music made me so relax.
Anya, who gave me massage is a super sweet girl, she is very professional and friendly. I can feel she pressed every single pressure point, and focused more on my sore parts as I mentioned to her. I enjoyed her massage a lot. I feel like I was in Thailand, its almost the same.
And after the massage, they offered you to use the steam room, and shower. I felt so relieved after the whole package, it worths. Be generous to the amazing masseuse, don’t forget tips!

Tanya was amazing! I had so much knots in my back and she took the time to make sure they were all gone… safe to say I can stretch now without things cracking all the time. I love that they were attentive and would constantly ask me if the pressure was okay.
We got the Groupon deal and it was worth it! Parking was a bit of a pain but that’s SF in general.
These ladies work hard! I will surely come back!
