Siegel’s Clothing Superstore & Tuxedos

Searching all over the Bay Area for a Derby Jacket. The Hardware Store, The Shoe Depot, Sears, Aricks, nothin. Was about to give up after I didn’t see any in the Dickies section at Seigels when I decided to walk around when lo and behold in the center rack, there they were. All different colors, I couldn’t believe it. I bought a black one and a grey one. I get so many compliments on these jackets it’s ridiculous. I can’t believe a jacket so awesome is so hard to find. Just for having these I give Seigels 5 Stars. Hell yeah!

I’m going to be in a wedding in S. Cal., and won’t arrive in time to get fitted for my tuxedo at the place from which the wedding party is renting. So I needed to have my measurements taken locally, and then send them to the S. Cal. tuxedo store. I walked in to Siegel’s, explained my situation to the gentleman, and asked if I could pay someone ten bucks to measure me. He was extremely friendly and said «it’s free to measure.» Again, he knew I would not be renting from Siegel’s. He then took my measurements and wrote them down on a form for me. When he finished I asked again if he was sure I couldn’t pay him something, and again he refused.
Talk about great customer service. I will check in with Siegel’s first the next time I need to rent locally.

The selection and quality of apparel here is excellent, don’t get me wrong. Customer service, on the other hand is horrendous. There seems to be not a care in the world about customer experience or solidifying repeat business. I ordered some items online for an event that was 4 weeks away. After my initial order and charge of my credit card, I was told that the item I selected was out of stock even though there was not (and still not) any mention of that on the web page. That alert came to me via email…10 days after the order date! I was offered a few options for replacement that was similar to what I was looking for. I selected the best fit based on the style I wanted and was then asked for my credit card again so that they could charge me the difference. I said that I wasn’t comfortable with that arrangement even though difference was only $ 5. They essentially said ‘too bad, that’s the deal’. I reluctantly agreed as I had no other options at that point. When my order arrived, it was incorrect. They had sent me two of the same items and left out my other item. Now, my event is only a week away so I called to get this fixed ASAP. They expedited my other item, at my cost, and offered to refund me for the extra item upon my return, which, again the shipping would be at my cost. All in, I’d say I spent an extra $ 40 on a purchase that should have only been $ 65 in the first place. My refund took 2 months from the day I shipped the item back and upon inquiry they would not reimburse me for any shipping charges despite said charges being their fault. I will not shop here again, there are plenty of other clothiers that offer the same brands at competitive prices.

Good selection but watch the price. Some items are marked as on sale that aren’t. I went to by something on sale and the bumped it up to full price.

I have been going there for over 20 years. Always find the right suit, shirt, tuxedos, everything. Very loyal staff. Everyone is the same that I have remembered. Even the owner still recognizes me if I have not seen him in a while. Never rushed and you can spend hours in there.

If you want poor customer service and attitude this is the place to go. The guy was straight rude to me, refusing nit only to provide good service but even proper response to a question, plus making claims about other tuxedo rental companies that turned out to be factually incorrect.

Overcrowded racks make it difficult to search for what you want. They carry a lot of Carhartt stuff, but not what I was looking for. One of the salespeople is pushy.

You need some vintage clothing, daddy-​o? Gotta get an outfit for that prohibition party? Attending the Player’s Ball and your fedora got lost in transit?
Never fear, Seigel’s is here. This Mission institution is crammed full of intense suits, formalwear, vintage-​wear, pimp-​wear, tuxedo rentals, Havana shirts, bowling shirts, zoot suits and just about every other fly gear you could need. From actual vintage 3-​piece suits to outrageous new styles like bright purple, red, blue, pink or white suits, Siegel’s has you covered. In fact, if you tried to cram even one more item of clothing in to this store it would explode. Oh, and they also stock stuff like Carhartt, Levis and various other wear.
I found this place online while searching for vintage suit wear and was mesmerized. I followed up with a visit while in the City and was completely blown away by the offerings here. Had I not restrained myself I would have left with a couple of suits of varying colors — perfect for any party. Don’t believe me? Go online and look at their selection. Not much of what they offer is actually on the site, but you’ll get the idea.
The prices on suits here can range from great to not-​so-​much, so be careful what you purchase. But this kind of clothing can be hard to find, especially offline, and especially in this quantity and variety, so you sort of get what you pay for.
The folks working here are friendly but they don’t seem to fit the style of attire. Usually when I shop for suits it’s a bit more of an attentive, upscale, high-​service kind of thing. Here it’s more like shopping for vintage wear, but only a small portion of the fare is actually vintage.
I could try to do a better job of describing what’s on offer at Siegel’s but I’m not sure if my words could do it justice. Just know that if you have any need for suits that could fit any decade from the 1900’s up through current flashy styles, Siegel’s may just have it.

Attention pimps, playaz, and hustlers… if you’re not buying your threads from Siegel’s, you clearly aren’t on your A-​game. In the immortal words of Coolio, this clothing facility is a Gangster’s Paradise.
Are you man enough?

I personally have been there twice, and have seen some cool looking clothes and fun stuff to buy. However, on both occasions I waited for over 15 minutes (in a small, empty store) and was never able to get anybody to help me, so I just walked out and took my business elsewhere.
I’m giving them 1 star in part because of my own lousy experiences there, and in part because Unilocal has auto-​filtered many 1 star reviews that mention their lack of follow-​through on online orders, issues with their refund policy, and their often-​horrible customer support (which I can vouch for).

Good place to pick up boy’s dress clothes in the Mission. Had a great selection of ties. And while some of the styles are crazy for men — zoot suit, fur coats, etc, they still have basic stuff. Plus there’s a pretty good hat selection.

I happened to be in the Mission on Friday and as I passed by the store I saw the sales, there was some merchandise right outside advertising a sale so that drew me in.
I like the selection of clothing, it is really exciting, lots of variety. And, lots of classic style clothes that even upscale places don’t have much of these days.
Service was friendly, but at this store I think it is wise to PAY ONLY IN CASH!
The reason why I say this is because the sales clerk entered the sale twice, saying first time it did not go through.
Avoid that! it seems to me like a way to get customers to pay more. All sales are final, No Returns! And so disputing an extra charge is pointless.
So, next time I will make sure I pay only in cash.

I love it! I miss the army/​navy stores in my hometown of Queens. Most of them are a lot like Siegel’s where you can find very comfortable sensible casual wear and work clothes and a few other classic items such as boots, hats, dress shirts, thermals, carhart, ben davis, all that good stuff. If so inclined you can also get a zoot suit here for your nights of pimpin’ or for that Big Bad Voodoo Daddy reunion tour (eeek!). The salesfolk are also an old fashioned lot in their style of service. Would you believe that they actually take the time to help you or search for an item that you don’t immediately see! Keep on keepin’ on Siegel’s.

I used them by mail order and they could not have been better. Ordered a white Zoot Suit, did all the measurements myself and waited… it took them longer than they thought to alter it, custom tailored and all, but they made up for that by shipping overnight for no extra cost.
Their white two toned zoot suit is possibly the most bichin’ piece of clothes I have ever owned. At $ 200 if you want to turn heads, this is the way.

When I first found this place, I stopped in my tracks. Half of this store consists of zoot suits, in colors ranging from melon to shocking orange to black with white pin-​stripes. Whoah. The other half consists of shelves of work clothes — Dickies and Carrhart, for example — which I like. They also carry Levi’s jeans. This is one of the most unusual stores in San Francisco, and definitely deserves a visit.

This guy tries and says his suits are self made by his company, but in reality they’re all made in China… no joke.
I walked in a while back and noticed a guy who called himself Santos. Nice guy, I noticed he was clipping tags off the suits they just received. Low and behold they said «Made in China».
The suits are decent and great for costumes, but if you say that your suits are american made, don’t you think you need to make them atleast, and not purchase them through some part of Asia?
the service was pleasant, and the tailoring was good and fast also.

Great place if your looking for a Halloween costume or used car salesmen suit!

Last week, I was looking a utilitarian light blue jumpsuit for Halloween so I stopped in. I want to be Pele Dos Santos from life Aquatic so I need light blue pants and a matching shirt. They had every assortment and color of Dickies, Carhart or whatever. And… they have a big assortment of prom outfits. I mean, a prom for pimps. It’s way cool. I would have ditched that lame homecoming queen I went with to wear a green pinstriped pimp suit in a minute.

Go ahead, San Francisco, head on down to Siegel’s and buy yourself something slamming. Rock the super baggy 40’s to late 1950’s pinstripe look with extreme high-​waisted Hollywood trousers, or do the Rick James in an ultra-​pimp suit with that buttery sateen finish, or live the luxurious life in an extra long jacket with that funky pachuco silhouette style…
