History

Established in 1975.

Ken Sorgman established his sign business in Santa Barbara after an apprenticeship with one of the country’s foremost master sign painters/​teachers — Mr. Stan Morrison. Ken’s experience with an architectural sign firm on the East Coast also provided him with a strong foundation to meet the challenges of fine art design and sign fabrication required in Santa Barbara.

Signs By Ken has won several awards locally from Santa Barbara Beautiful, the City of Santa Barbara as well as being published in a national sign design book. Serving as a member of the City of Santa Barbara Sign Review Committee for two years, Ken has an excellent working knowledge of the sign review process the city requires. He was selected as the first and only sign designer/​manufacturer to fill a position on this committee.
