Simple Suzuki – Piano Instruction

I was referred to Simple Suzuki by Christabel Savalas, a renowned Juilliard-​educated pianist who frequently describes Daniel as her most prodigious former student. She attests that he surpassed her abilities in classical piano, and that his nature as a musician embraced only the Suzuki method. When Daniel and I began working together, he encouraged me to saturate myself in music and to embrace spontaneity in my practice. I was never a methodical learner and in Daniel I had finally found an instructor who inspired my mastery to happen organically. As I learned to play by ear, he inspired me to compose my own music and practice simultaneously. Practice and composition were intertwined; one did not follow the other in a linear fashion. I can now listen to the melody of the sounds of nature and translate it into the language of the piano — even interpret it, and add to it my own heart’s songs.

This method of learning piano is truly the best way of learning. I couldn’t imagine myself learning the traditional way. I highly recommend any of the teachers in the Simple Suzuki Network. Not to mention Mr. Idzkowski is one of the best instructors I have ever had. I have been playing piano for 5 years using more traditional methods, It wasn’t until I learned Suzuki from Mr. Idzkowski that I finally learned to enjoy playing the piano. What a great instructor!

I was Mr. Idzkowski’s first student back in 2009. Mr. Idzkowski worked with me as I took on the immense task of composing a dynamic 10-​minute piece on piano. He acted as my creative mentor and provided the basic piano skills needed to accomplish this. I literally went from having nearly no musical experience, to successfully composing and performing this 10-​minute piano piece in the duration of about 1 year. In addition, I asked Mr. Idzkowski to perform a dual piano duet with me at a year end event performing a piece he had written. I was successfully able to learn this piece in the short 2-​week time span we had, and perform it with ease. Mr. Idzkowski is a great teacher who addresses your needs and works on a strategy to improve your skills. Now I am able to play many popular bits because of the Suzuki method training.
