I came here for my first facial ever and it won’t be my last! I was impressed and left with a happy and glowing face. The studio was warm and had plenty of welcoming vibes. I appreciated the hot tea that was offered before we got started and the facilities looked squeaky clean. When I got into the room, I changed into a robe and got into the bed, which was nice and cozy. Dulce did a great job and had me feeling super relaxed, to the point where I wanted to drift away into a slumber (which is really great because I have trouble falling asleep, so this means a job well done!). She always kept me informed to what she was doing and asking if I was okay, which I was super! Afterwards, Dulce answered all of my questions I had about my skin, which was great and I am motivated to keep hydrated and eat better – for the sake of my skin! I am happy to be adding facials to my beauty régime.

I see that from the awesome ratings that Soothe probably doesn’t need another shout-​out, but I have to give credit where credit is due!
I’ve had two amazing massages over the last year from Gayle. She has the firmest deep tissue massage of any therapist I have every encountered– male or female!
The space is tiny but warm and inviting. Highly recommend

I started coming to Soothe Spa to see Dulce about a month ago for my first back facial. I cannot emphasize how amazing of an experience I’ve had!!! Dulce is not only incredibly caring and makes you feel at home at the spa, but also took the time to ask about my skin care treatment and tailored the treatment to my skin type. AND at both of my appointments she took extra time to give an massage at the very end. Over the past month I’ve had two appointments and there has been noticeable change. I’m so grateful to have learned about Dulce via Unilocal and have such a genuinely sweet and thorough aesthetician. I cannot give a higher recommendation!

Another review for the great Dana. I have been searching for a great facials for YEARS in the city. I’ve tried so many place and found them all lacking in one way or another. Dana was awesome! Knew exactly what my skin needed. A day after my appointment with her my skin looked great!
She is definitely popular make sure to pre-​book all your appointments and you’ll never have trouble getting in.

I’ve only had a couple of massages at Soothe, mostly because it’s expensive, but I won’t go anywhere else. I had Briann for my first massage, and it was the most amazing massage I have ever had. It’s obvious Briann is serious about her craft, and she has the skills and knowledge to really make a difference in the state of your physical body. I imagine the rest of the staff are just as good, but I’ll never know unless Briann leaves.
The bad reviews on Unilocal usually talk about the difficulty scheduling and getting in contact with the studio, and I understand that, but it’s worth it. While they may not be overly accommodating during the booking process, when you arrive for your appointment, you are catered to completely. Soothe is totally worth the effort to book and the expense. A disappointing massage is a real bummer. You won’t find that here.

Dulce! She’s the best! I loved my facial with her and I was able to see results right after.
I tryed facials in the past and all of them were aggressive and my skin was red for days and no benefit that all.
Dulce has great hands and all the products that she apply really work.
She even game me a foot massage and my experience was very relax, professional and my skin looks very good. This is my second facial with her and She inspire me to take care of my skin.

I love this place! Ever since I moved back to the neighborhood 10 months ago I have been coming to Soothe for their waxing services. The atmosphere is calming and the price is a solid $ 10 cheaper than other places in the city I have gone, though the experience doesn’t reflect that. I rotate between Dana and London (depending on availability) and adore them both. Both are professional, personal, and make me feel like I am their priority at that moment.
I recently had my first facial here with Dulce. She was great! My skin looked visibly more radiant and smooth afterwards. I can’t wait to try more of their services. I am hooked!

Go see Dana. Period. Her facials are incredible. She is very intuitive and I have always left with incredibly clean and smooth skin! Her facials are very relaxing and the only time they’re not is when she’s doing extractions — but she’s very good and fast with extractions. I have incredibly sensitive skin and have never reacted to the products that she uses.
The only trouble with getting a facial from Dana is that you’ll never want to see anyone else and her availability reflects that! It can be tough to schedule an appointment with her — but seriously, go see Dana!

Dana is amazing! I had the worst tiny pimples all over my forehead for a very long time. After seeing Dana only 2 times they were gone. It’s been a few months now and my pimples haven’t been back. I would definitely recommend going to Dana.

My experiences at Soothe have been nothing short of perfection. I have had many massages in my life, but nothing comes close to the deep spiritual relaxation I experience at Soothe. The rooms are plush and inviting, the aromatherapy is heavenly, and the expertise of the staff is incredible. If only I could get a massage here daily!

Loved the facial that i received from Dulce! First we talked about what products i am using and what my usual ritual of cleaning my face is. She then started to treat my face with all the great products they have, they not only smell delicious (they let you choose the scent), they also feel amazing and leave your skin fresh and glowing. Even my hubby mentioned how fabulous my skin looks as i came home :). Can highly recommend her and the rest of the team at soothe. I also love the vibe as your enter the spa as and the lounge area where they serve tea and water. Thank you Dulce & Soothe, i will be back soon

Today, I was fired as a customer by the manager of Soothe in the form of a disgusting email filled with passive-​aggresive new age pseudo-​psycho-​spiritual bullshit.
I’ve been a customer of this studio since 2013 and have had excellent experiences with the therapist. The studio administration, however, is an absolute nightmare, and I can see now, the problems start with the owner.
I’ve found it nearly impossible to book appointments here. Typically, it takes 1 – 2 weeks of effort. The online booking system won’t allow for two services booked together, so this requires direct contact with staff. The staff refuse to accept booking requests by email, so they passively aggressively insist that I have to call. However, when I call, they never answer. In the 1 – 2 years I’ve been a customer, I have yet to experience one single time when anyone actually picked up the phone. So, the booking system doesn’t work, they won’t take a booking by email, they tell you that you have to call, and then when you call, they don’t answer the phone. Since I work during business hours, I can’t be on stand-​by for ad-​hoc return calls that might or might not happen, but if they do happen, always happen when I’m on other calls or in other meetings. I can’t cancel meetings, and drop calls, to be on standby for the possibility of a return call during business hours. As great as the therapists might be here, that price is just too high for me.
Recently, I tried to make a booking using the online system, but the system said my card was invalid. I checked and checked and checked. It’s the same card I’ve always used with them. It was right in front of me. It was valid. But, the system said it was invalid. So, I asked them to let me make a booking, and they refused, so I asked for an escalation to the manager. In response to that request for an escalation, this is what I got back from her:
«Considering your frustrations with our studio and your previous emails to my therapist, I totally honor your decision to go to another studio. I have taken you out of our booking system … we wish you well on your search for a studio that is a better match for you. «
Wow. How did we get from asking for an appointment to «honoring» my «decision» to go to another studio.
If you’ve got all the free time in the world to chase these people down during business hours by phone, then, go for it. They do have good therapists. But, if you need to use the business day for business, don’t bother.

Recently had the BEST massage I have EVER had & I have Debbie to thank. She is intuitive, attentive, strong, and thorough. It is obvious that she cares about her work and takes pride in healing bodies.
I am hooked.

I’m always hesitant committing myself to spending a good chunk of money on something without knowing more (or at least having a substantial number of reassuring Unilocal reviews available) ahead of time, but I found myself in dire need of a massage last week — after realizing it’d be over 6 months without any kind of bodywork — and was fortunate enough to find a next-​day appointment here with Bokhara. I was definitely not disappointed.
I was immediately greeted at the front desk at this lovely little — and beautifully decorated and peaceful — spa and given some paperwork to fill out prior to the massage. I really liked how the back of the paper, which required my initials pretty much everywhere, included several statements emphasizing the spa’s commitment to client satisfaction and stressed how much they valued customer input during and after an appointment because, after all, that’s really the only way the practitioners could know what was and wasn’t working. Well said!
I also appreciated Bokhara’s overall attentive and calming presence throughout the massage (I opted for the 75-​minute deluxe massage featured on their booking page). She really listened to what I told her I wanted — a lot of focus on the hands and feet — and allowed me to fully relax through the entire session. I often feel obligated to carry on a conversation during a massage, but on that day I really needed to tune out, and she invited me to do just that from the moment I was on the table.
Lastly, I was impressed by the amount of strength and control Bokhara had for her very petite frame. When I first met her, I did anticipate that I’d be asking her to apply more pressure during the massage, but I didn’t need to ask her for anything different the entire time.
In addition to wishing I’d booked an even longer massage, the only thing that could use improvement is the soundproofing in the massage rooms. Whenever people came in or out, I could clearly hear their conversations. Until they attend to the physical adjustments that need to be made to better block the noises, it would be nice if the other employees made an effort to keep their voices down — which is what Bokhara did — and actively encourage clients to do the same to preserve the peaceful nature of the spa.

Every time I get a massage I walk out thinking, «why don’t I do this more often?» It’s like live music. Or dominos pasta bread bowls.
I’ve been going to soothe for four years now. I like not having to deal with front desk staff. It’s my favorite little local studio to get bodywork.

I was dropped off unknowingly yesterday — forced to get a massage — in the midst of an intense phase of to-do’s — I resisted even walking to the door… was greeted by Debbie and things began turning around from there.
Wow. I have never had anyone treat my lower back the way it craves to be undone. Ever.
I slept like a rock, woke up perfectly sore, enlivened, and completely shifted from «not enough time» to «there is time for everything». There is a gentle buzzing in that whole stagnant area as it wakes up.
Debbie’s treatments are intuitive and remarkably healing, and those fingers — wooa.
Talent.
I feel so lucky my path crossed with Debbie’s.

There are 3 things a woman needs in her life to look hot: Red lipstick, 4 inch stilettos, and Dana.
My face hails from the land of cystic acne, flakey dry patches, and the occasional spread of blackheads –no antibiotics and dermatologists have been able to conquer it. I almost resorted to a lifetime supply of foundation until I swallowed $ 120 and booked Dana.
The spa is small and the parking is on the street-​but everyone makes you feel welcomed from the moment you step in and as you step out.
Initially, I was skeptical about the «all natural» products. What can brown sugar do that chemicals can’t? But Dana was so attentive –she respected my needs to just lie there and be pampered while keeping me informed about what she was putting on my face if I asked. She made sure I was comfortable-​during the treatment as well as before and after. «If anything burns, let me know and I’ll take it off.» She mixed a lot of the products together to best suit my face. Her extractions were the least painful I’ve had.
Upon leaving, my face was red, a tad oily and I wasn’t sure what to expect from this tiny spa. I woke up this morning and my face is completely smooth. Sure, there are tiny blotches from the big pimples she excavated from but they are no longer angry nor large. My forehead was smooth like an egg. My complexion was like a Renaissance water color piece of art. Instagrammable without a filter. And I have only Dana to thank.

I’d only had a facial once before, like, five years ago, and so I thought that all facials were done in ambiance-​less clinical rooms with face melting steamers and estheticians lecturing your about fancy acne-​treatments you need to buy.
London’s my new jam. I had a glass of rose tea while she set up the room (I was 15 minutes early) and then I got super cozy on the table (bed? What are these things called?) under the covers. I’m a freak about smells and aromatherapy, so I really appreciated that the intake form I filled out had a section for smells: Floral, woody, citrusy, etc. I like floral and woody smells, and the products London used all smelled amazing.
The room was very warm (vibe-​wise) and relaxing, the steamer was awesome and never felt overwhelming, and the facial treatment was exactly what I was looking for — natural and exfoliating with some extractions, never stingy or chemical-​y. My favorite part, though, was the neck, shoulder, and arm massage I got with the facial. I take 3+ hours of classical ballet classes every week and have been a burlesque/​pole performer on and off for years, so my muscles are almost always in need of TLC. I have had a number of massages all over the Bay Area, and this shoulder rub down was tip-​top.
I loved the aromatherapy so much that I picked up a Skin and Bones jojoba/​ylang ylang cleaner on the way out and it is my new favorite.
If you need some serious relaxing and pampering, Soothe is the spot!
