I am a guy and have been living in the Mission for about a year. I have tried a few places including Fellow Barber and Tao and for the price this was the best hair cut I have had in the Mission.

Incredibly wonderful hair cut experience. In and out in 25 minutes, totally affordable and a great local and community experience. There were ladies in and out chatting in Spanish and telling me how beautiful I looked. I loved every minute of it.

10 dollar haircut! 10 dollar haircut! And in case you haven’t heard, 10DOLLARHAIRCUT! I like the hair on my head. And I don’t let just anybody with a pair of scissors near it. But I’ll admit, I caved. I mean 10 bones for a haircut? C’mon now. It was too enticing to pass up. So I go in and there wasn’t much of a wait. I didn’t even have to leave my name or anything like that. I just sat myself down in one of the empty chairs and then 2 minutes later this big guy who looked like a Mexican mafioso beckoned me to sit on his chair. «who, me?» *gulp* OK here goes nothing. The guy had a real deep voice with a surprisingly soft touch. I’m usually scared of big mafioso dudes with razors so I was pretty tense to start. But after a while, I warmed up to him as we tried conversing in Spanish. He was amused with the amount of Spanish I knew but it still wasn’t enough to convey in full detail how I really wanted my haircut. I had to resort to «si» or «no» when he asked«mas o menos». I have to admit, it was pretty nerve-wracking in the beginning but he turned out to be pretty good and I was fairly pleased with the result. I tipped him 5 bucks and told him«hasta luego! I’ll be back for sure!» and left with a smile on my face. I came back a few weeks later but unfortunately the result was not the same. He cut it too short and a bit uneven this time. 10 buck haircut was too good to be true. Sigh. Regardless, I still think I’ll be going back. They are a friendly lot and it’s right around the corner from mi casa. It would probably help to brush up on my Spanish though. Now where did I put that Rosetta Stone DVD? 3.3 stars.

Im a dude and got a hair cut here coz my other joint was closed. Cheap — less than $ 10. But very low quality and lazy work. Would not go again.

$ 8 hair cuts. No guts… no glory. Less guts required if you speak Spanish.
