I highly recommend Élan Kamesar. I’m pretty analytical and use to do my taxes. I’ve done my taxes the last couple of years and then I compare it to what Élan does and he always saves me money with integrity. He was recommended to me and I can help but recommend him to others. Nice guy too.

Élan is amazing! I have seen Élan for the past 4 years to do my tax returns. Not only is he very knowledgeable in the tax world, but he knows how to explain things in a normal, easy-​to-​understand way. He is very thorough and looks under every rock. Extremely helpful and pleasant to work with!
I recently moved 2 hours out from SF but since he’s so good I picked a day to drive back to see him to get my taxes done (he would have done it via mail but I preferred meeting with him directly).

Pat McLauglin has been doing my taxes for 30 or more years… through the working stiff employment years, property ownership with rentals, renovations & construction, inheritances, a small buisiness startup, farming and employees. She got me through it all. I really appreciate our long relationship and that I have never had to doubt that she was on top of all the latest rules and regs and would serve me knowlegeably and very professionally. I just hope she doesn’t retire before I still have complicated stuff to throw at her!

My previous CPA, Chris, worked here and my experience with him was excellent. He was able to deal with my complicated taxes, business and personal. My hard drive crashed this year and I lost some files, including my tax returns from last year. I requested a copy of my records and Michael McLaughlin emailed stating the cost would be $ 50 to send even as a PDF… this was not the case in previous years. I tried getting Michael on the phone or to return my call, but was unsuccessful. I explained the situation in email of my hard drive and asked for a waiver of the fee, yet he still has not response to my request. The receptionist was very helpful and tried to get Michael to speak with me on the phone, but after a few attempts she said she had to transfer me to his VM.

Stone & McLaughlin has been great in meeting my tax needs. I purchased a rental property that made my taxes way too complicated for me to understand, but Élan has guided me through the maze year after year. When I had to moved out of state, they were able to work with me via email and phone to prepare my taxes and answer any questions I had. This place is friendly, professional and well worth the money to have your taxes done correctly and efficiently. I highly recommend Stone & McLaughlin and Élan as well.

I have little experience dealing with a CPA, and a complicated business situation. Basically I do a mix of self-​employed freelance and some part time employment. I’m also treasurer for an LLC with 6 members that needed a filing. This place was recommended to me by another freelance person. Élan took care of me.
I can’t compare this place with the performance of many others, but I can say that it gave me confidence that my taxes are filed correctly. They were friendly and accommodating. Because they handled my personal taxes and the LLC too, they mentioned their rate was better than others would ask. Others didn’t give as much help with my initial questions either, which had been frustrating. I definitely recommend them.

I was referred to Stone and McLaughlin by a co-​worker who was pleased with their performance last year. I was assigned to Chris who is very very thorough. My tax situation is a little complicated — combination of self employment and regular employment, and he was confident of just how to help me for this year’s taxes.
