They charge extra for spinach apparently. I asked the worker(angry, sad man) how long they’ve charged extra for spinach and he told me «4 years.» This is definitely untrue, since this was my third time there and hadn’t been charged before. It’s gotten worse every time, so I think I’ll ignore my Subway craving when I’m near here from now on. The homeless problem and rude staff that everyone else mentioned is a major problem. I’m surprised this location is still operational.

Aww. I don’t know why the rating is super low. Well, I came in Saturday afternoon for lunch after my gym. There’s only one guy behind the counter. He is fabulous though. Handled everything nicely and very friendly. He cater to my requests really well and still manage to greet everyone in line. The food is good. Fresh as usual. The neighborhood is, indeed, sketchy but this location is surprisingly clean. No complain.

I won’t bore you with a review of Subway. If you’re reading Unilocal, you know what Subway is. This is a terrific and very well-run location of the franchise. Subway can be great because of its consistent menu and range for customization. This location is good because it touts consistent standards and freshness, coupled with good and diligent service. I’ve never once been disappointed by anything. They always do at least a good job, and sometimes they are flat out great. That should say something. It’s always been inspiring to me to see good people do good things. A good business can make your neighborhood a better place. Enough better places, it’s a home. This is a nice little Subway which does a good job. This is probably not the most exciting review. But, it’s well deserved. You should feel comfortable to grab a Subway sandwich from this location.

I enjoy the location of this Subway outlet. Great meal prices and the food is enjoyable. The morning and afternoon staff(before 5:00PM) have been excellent, kind and friendly towards me. Unfortunately, the only negativity I have is the young beefy looking male that works inside. He’s the only employee there who doesn’t smile whenever I enter, always looking mean and moody(you figure he would stop asking for my ID while handing him my credit card for food purchases despite the three to four times per week he’s seen me the past three months). I really became frustrated with«Mr. Moody»(that’s who I’ll call him) three weeks ago when after I ordered my meal, I sat at the table near the door entrance. The sun began blaring in my face. Since the back seating area was closed, I told Mr. Moody about my ordeal and asked politely if I can sit in the back area since two other customers were seated at another table near the door entrance. Mr. Moody said«no» quite angrily while behind the counter, looking as though he was ready to engage in a fistfight if I didn’t obeyed. I merely got my food, angrily walking out that place. This evening after two weeks of not going back after 5:00PM, I entered the store. Mr. Moody was seated near behind the counter yet another employee took my order. Believe me, tensions were there as Mr. Moody were staring right at me a couple of times quite angrily, which I speculate that he probably remembers our last encounter(if he remembers me immediately, I wonder if he would have demanded to see my ID had he taken my order)? After today, I no longer enter that Subway outlet anymore after 5:00PM yet I’l enter the place anytime BEFORE5:00PM. I urged everyone reading this to STOP patronizing this Subway outlet location after 5:00PM. Perhaps the higher management will close this location after 5:00PM, thus forcing Mr. Moody to find a job elsewhere OR when word about Mr. Moody’s mean moods reach management, they would immediately fire Mr. Moody. If a person looks as though they hate their job and has a mean and moody mentality while greeting customers on a daily basis… he(or she) NEEDSTOQUIT. Hopefully Mr. Moody gets fired by management someday soon.

I know the neighborhood is sketchy but the food and service is great. I work around the corner and it gets exhausting to watch or babysit every sketchy person inside and out. Especially on the weekends.

This subway needs to be shut down. Worst subway ever. One of the workers was extremely rude to me while I was trying to purchase a sandwich. Then as I was sitting down to eat my food, he got into a fight with a customer when the worker refused to toast the customer’s sandwich. Who does that??? If you hate your job, THENQUIT! Also my sandwich was really nasty… sigh.

Disgusting! cheap and I’m sure it’s against subway policy! I was heading home they’re about to close claimed by the operator… 30 mins from what was on the door. and most of the stuff are already in storage. I asked for my sandwich to be toasted and that tray they use to put the sandwich in was gone too. so the guy just placed the sandwich in alone. then it was BURNT. THEGUYWASLIKETAKEITORLEAVEIT!!! i had a long day and i didn’t make a fuss. I’m sure he will throw it away. so i bought it he didn’t properly cut the sandwich. ugggh never going here again.

The worst subway i’ve ever been to. Allow the homeless to harass and beg from their customers. When crazy people come in here and scream at people, the staff do nothing. Awful service and a grim atmosphere make this a desperation option only– but even then, walk the 3 blocks to the one on Ellis. I hope this place closes and get replaced by something worthwhile.

Not a good Subway in the city. Very unprofessional staff. The guy I typically encounter has his shirt untucked, no hat, and re-uses the disposable gloves after running the cash register. Probably one pair of disposable gloves is used for every customer the entire day. Also, the food seems to be left uncovered during the slow times, which means flies can linger on the meat and vegetables :( The operators of this Subway seem downright cheap. There is never any«thank you» when checking out either.

The food is tasty just like at other Subways. Nice, quiet room in the back to enjoy my sammich while surfing the web. Not sure what everyone’s complaining about. Anyway, gotta go.

Including a restroom this place offers none of the BRAND expectations I have come to count on when I step footLong into a Subway BRAND establishment. All I wanted was a cookie to satisfy a craving and so I got 3 white chocolate Macadamia nut(hey this isn’t a review of my diet okay! Also no Macadamia isn’t a country or a person, So!) cookies. Ay don’t you know that I was irked when I bit into a cookie and tasted a single burnt cranberry on the bottom of my cookie? How about when there was one on the second cookie too? Third time was set to be the redeemer! No!!! It had one too. Could it have been a set up? You bastards(I have a much better word to use, wish i were a Brit for a minute so i could get away wif callin ewe bunts but not with a b), could have at least put a lot of them and made it the burnt remnants of a cranberry cheesecake cookie that you didn’t order cookie. But no, you put just enough to show that you have mastered making the We don’t care about our customers enough to clean up from the last batch of cookies before we start this batch of cookies, cookie! Maybe! Maybe they just hate me at this location. Or maybe you should try another location. It’s in your hands now.

I am really glad other people mentioned the BS about a $ 6 minimum to use a credit card. I went in there this morning for breakfast, but nothing looked that great so I just got a small sandwich, same thing right? I ordered my sandwich and gave her my credit card, she said it was a $ 6 minimum, wtf?! $ 6 that is so random. So I asked her how much a bag of chips were, and I was still under the $ 6, so I asked her how much a drink was in a bottle, then she told me that it was almost $ 8?!! wtf for subway?! I asked her if she charged me for the chips too, and she said yes. It was clear that I was just trying to get over that $ 6 min, why would I want extra things. So she took the chips off and I got a bottle of apple juice that is still sitting on my desk barely touched. I won’t be coming back here. What did they expect? Would they just throw the sandwich away if I didn’t want to spend the $ 6? And when I had asked her about the chips and it came to just below 6 dollars I asked if she could run my card and make an exception and she said«the machine is not set up that way, it has to be $ 6 or it won’t work“‘ that’s a first time for me.

subway; eat fish. yes, you read correctly — the tuna is pretty good(i usually hate fish). Onions, lettuce, tomato, and definitely oil and vinegar on a foot long slab of wheat bread is the way to go. This place is good if they’re not too busy — sometimes it takes them a while to get through all the orders, but most of the time they’re good. It’s clean here too, which, let’s face it, is the most important thing at a fast food restaurant. Ya don’t want cobwebs all up in chipotle sauce!

I come to a Subway about once a week to get their $ 5 special and in the county of San Francisco there is NOTAX on items that are not cooked and«to go» so I make sure to have my sandwich not toasted to save my self the $.48. For some reason this location illegally charges tax on non-taxable items. When I asked the gentleman charging me for my meal about this he replied with a sharp attitude that all the other Subway restaurants in San Francisco County were wrong but his store was right. The Spicy Italian was good with just the right amount of ingredients and the bread was soft so if you don’t mind paying and extra $ 0.48 to the owner this location would be OK.

I really don’t understand why the franchise owner of this location doesn’t throw in the towel. He doesn’t honor Subway’s promotions, even when they are posted all over his place. In addition, he also doesn’t honor his contractual agreement with the credit card companies because he requires a minimum charge of $ 6. It may be the Tenderloin, but why scare people away with poor service and a bad attitude. With all of the crappy reviews for this location, I’m surprised that the Doctors Associates CEO, Fred DeLuca, who supposedly doesn’t play from what I’ve read, isn’t all over this place with mystery shoppers.

I’m a big sandwich fan. Whether here in the bay, or when on the go, seeing the Subway logo is always a good omen. I was the only customer present, so I walk up to the counter and said Hello, and ordered my Sandwich. The man muttered«Mayo and Mustard» angrily and I said«Just Spicy Mustard is fine, no mayo please». He then glared at me and angrily snapped«YOUDONTWANTCHEESE??? I ASKEDYOUWHATKINDOFCHEESEYOUWANTEDANDYOUTALKABOUTMUSTARD!!!». Oh, Ok Angryman, Yes I would like cheese. Then he was just super surly making my sandwich. I ordered Avocado and he took out a tub of Avocado that had a thick brown skin on it from being open for too long and smeared it all over my sandwich. Gross. When the sandwich was done, I saw a display of cookies with mentions of Chocolate Chip Cookies. I ordered one, and he instantly snapped at me angrily«WHEREDOYOUSEECHOCOLATECHIPCOOKIES???» while pointing at the cookie display. I went over to the display and saw that while the display referenced CC cookies, there were the very similar looking OATMEAL RAiSIN cookies in the display. What a douche. If it makes you this angry to make sandwiches, you need to get a new gig. I learned that this nitwit working the counter is actually the owner/manager of the establishment. I advised to him«Keep Smiling» I’ve eaten @ Subways in foreign countries, at truckstops, at airports and I’ve never seen such poor service @ a subway franchise. AVOID. Instead go to the one on Van Ness. They keeps it moving.

As a regular of Subway for some time now, mostly because it’s no frills, fill-me up food that’s fast and inexpensive. Most of the people who work at this location are so indifferent to being there, and they obviously hate their jobs. They make no attempt to cordially interact or even speak loudly enough to hear what they are asking which is why I am sure several orders are not made properly. I’ve always noticed the people here are kind of lame, but it’s Subway. I never read too much into it… until tonight. I went in to the store with a coupon for a free 6″ sub from their ‘Monopoly” game. I ordered my sandwich and after they made the entire thing, I handed over the coupon. They said it didn’t cover the particular sub I ordered. I didn’t bring any money with me since I had the coupon. The guy who’s always there came up, and was just like«NO» and I said«Ok, so it’s going in the trash instead» and they both said«Yeah» and just turned around with it and walked away. This is ridiculous, it’s like, you’d rather WASTE the food instead of make a concession? So stupid. I walked out, went down the street to the Subway on Ellis, and they gave me no trouble for the selection at all(Which this time, I asked about prior to ordering) They also tend to make the sandwiches with much more in them as well, and they are always nice and friendly. Walk the few extra blocks to Ellis for a much better experience.

I agree with Kenneth. Omg, horrible. I too, am a fan of Subway. But I will definitely be avoiding this particular location. We ordered the turkey breast and tuna sandwich meal. She asked if I wanted the bread toasted, I replied, «no.» Sat down next to the murky window. Avoiding the dirty window, trying not to lose my appetite, I bit into my sandwich and crrrruuunch. Uhhhh, I didn’t ask for crackers. The bread was horrible– they did leave the oven door open. Maybe I should’ve asked for bread with my sandwich. I ended up removing the bread and had it like a salad. The sodas were all flat! And the manager didn’t do anything. Who hired him? Hmm, someone should close this subway down. A disgrace to other subways. I want my money back. Oh, and minimum $ 6 to use credit.
