At Sunset Bujinkan we study the Classical Japanese Martial Art of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. Gaining notoriety in the 80’s as the «Art of the Ninja» and «Ninjutsu», it is actually a comprehensive Martial Art System comprised of 9 different Classical Samurai Schools, some of which also contain ninjutsu. Topics of study cover a broad spectrum including striking, kicking, grappling and weapons. The weapons used are traditional Japanese ones such as Katana, Bo, Spear and much more, however the approach is based on understanding the principles behind the techniques in order to apply them to modern applications. Classes are non-competitive so there are no tournaments or point-sparring.
History
Established in 2014.
We are starting a new training group geared towards those new to the art, though experienced practitioners are welcome as well.
