History

Established in 2004.

Superplush Suspension is owned and operated by James Siddall, who spent thirteen years working in professional motorcycle racing. The invaluable experience he gained there makes Superplush the most qualified shop to tune your suspension. Our experience spans roadracing with the Factory Honda, Graves Yamaha, and M4 Suzuki teams, and multiple AMA national roadracing championships. We have tuned suspension for Jonah Street and team rally PanAm, the most successful American rider and privateer team in the Dakar Rally. We also tune for Jake Johnson, and Zanotti Racing, current championship leaders of the AMA Grand National Dirtrack championship. A deep rooted understanding of the principles of motorcycle suspension allow us to succeed in so many disciplines.

I reviewed SPS five years ago in reference to all my dirt bikes and all my road race bikes, and all that still stands. But I felt compelled to write more now that I’ve taken my KTM 690 Enduro on the gnarliest dirt roads in Colombia and everywhere else in between. It has held up magnificently and it handles everything like a dirt bike, dodging cows, accidentally running through foot deep pot holes, rocky river crossings, and all the dusty, windy, switchback mountain dirt roads we can find. I can’t give enough credit to SPS. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.
I called up SPP to do a complete front rebuild /​revalve and same with the shock, on my KTM Superduke. Got them the parts and a week later I had them back, stoked right?
Out of the box, didn’t touch a clicker or preload, just threw it on and went and rode — it’s a new freaking motorcycle.
On the smooth stuff the thing maintained its line as well as I’d ask a street bike to, even when I stabbing the brake and letting off abruptly rather than smoothly, the rebound damping was PERFECT and the bike would just slowly raise to its height and maintain its line mid corner.
Seriously, I’ve had a lot of suspension work done in the past with a lot of different people, and while they all have their strengths and weaknesses, never has it been PERFECT out of the box.
If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Do it.
I won’t be touching a single clicker for a long time, but the other positive is that I’ve got range to do so if I wanted to as all my clickers are mostly in the middle.

I had a very good experience with both Erik and James. I first met Erik on the trail at the SheetIron in March 2015 and picked his brain because I was aware that the suspension on my ’04 DRZ was fairly smushy. Later I learned the rear shock was shot and I was desperate to get things sorted out before another 4-​day event I was heading into.
Admittedly, I’m a bit dumb in the science of motorbike suspension but I know what feels right when I am riding. Erik walked me through the process and tried to respect my budget although I recognized it was more important to get the right setup in order to fully enjoy the bike.
They did a great job (as I found out on my event), the turn-​around time was more than reasonable and of equal importance they were nice! …And also, they gave me a Super Plush tee shirt. Woohoo! Thanks guys.

These guys are first class. James and Erik both exude a combination of friendliness and competence that puts you immediately at ease. Came by for some initial setup to dial my bike in for the lunar surface that is the SF street grid, she was transformed immediately. Having guys this sharp put an eye to your setup is well worth it, and the combination of competence, patience, and friendliness here is something not often found. Thanks James!

Sorry that I’m so late in posting this.
Back around Thanksgiving I took a first ride on my Tuono after you guys had reworked the suspension. Now, I don’t know what the hell you guys did to this bike, but I have never been on a bike that handles so well. This thing is unbelievable. I could not hit a corner too fast. I look; it turns. Even the tightest turns required almost no work on my part. It is really really confidence inspiring and the controls are so much more in tune with what’s going on with the tires.
Seriously, guys, you’ve outdone yourselves. Thank you a thousand times!

Probably some of the friendliest and most informative service I’ve ever received in my life. These guys are super cheerful, helpful and are happy to educate you without making you feel like a douche for asking questions. No hard upsell either, just consultative advice which I appreciate. My triumph tiger is now as smooth as butter and the suspension is as sporty as you could ever hope from an adventure bike, I can’t wait to put more miles on her she so dialed in!

James is a first rate engineer who understands suspension as a complex and emergent system of components interacting with the rider, bike, and ground. His intuition and capability exceeds anything I’ve seen elsewhere in the suspension world, and he is happy to educate one on the dark arts to elucidate not only why he chose to do the work he did, but also how to maintain and adjust it in the future for your own use.
Everyone in his shop rocks, and they’re all very integrated in the SF bike community. Really recommend as the place to find what you didn’t know you didn’t know and educate yo’self.

These guys are great!!!
I first had suspension work done at an «underground» shop located in the TL. I was charged and the work was not done properly.
I then found Super Plush from the great guys at Scuderia. Super Plush hooked me up in one day, completed the work properly and explained exactly what they did. These guys will get all of my suspension work in the future.
I highly recommend them!
