I ordered delivery on eat24, it took them 1.5 hours to get here and i specifically added a note for the lion king dish to ask them to make sure the salmon is cooked all the way(most lion kings from other restaurants bake this dish, this restaurant apparently didn’t), it turned out that it was half way cooked when I got it. I waited so long and learned that they don’t even read instructions. Beware eat24 users. The only good thing was the delivery came with free California roll. I will drive my ass to San Mateo for sushi next time.

Went to sushi raw this weekend with a friend and my service dog, and the waiter right off said dog not allowed even with her service tags and ID, he says I need her paper work. They are not to ask for papers, they are only aloud to ask is that a service animal and what service do they provide. «I have proper ID tags.“The waiter was out of line. We walked out. Telling all our friends not to patronize this place, and they will tell there friends.

Ordered chicken karagge and house special ramen. Chicken karagge was extremely salty and the broth for the ramen was extremely bland. We only went there cuz it was really close to the place we’re staying. We’ll probably never go back here again.

Four Season roll is our favorite. Service is quick. Servers are nice. Parking is not too bad and the price is reasonable. They are also on 24Eat.

I think they have really good food here, and they not only focus on their quality, they also focus a lot on their presentation of their food. They were so pretty! I got a bento box, and a sushi roll and the plate was filled with sauce that they made designs on. I hear a lot of people saying its super expensive, but the place is pretty fairly priced and would come back again. It’s a lot nicer during their down times when students are in school and a majority of people are at work, i get the restaurant to myself haha! its too busy when lunch and dinner hit lol

The plates were chipped, the ice burg lettuce in the salad was bruised & brown, the sushi was not cut or rolled properly, they forgot to bring part of my order and when I told them, they hadn’t put the order in so I had to wait and eat it after I had already finished the rest of my meal and still paid full price. With so many amazing sushi places, why waste your time or money.

Ah, the neighborhood sushi spot if you live in Excelsior. Decent enough if you are in the neighborhood, but definitely not going out of the way for. Stop into Rock’s Den any night of the week and you’ll see someone eating take out Sushi Raw or hear them tell the bar tender they will be back to pick up their order. You’ll also see the restaurant decently packed especially on weekends. Again, for the locals it is a decent spot. The menu is generally standard with some options that stand out like baby octopus karaage on the appetizer menu. They do have ramen and udon, which is good on cold nights and eating in. Their entrees are standard, but the option of bento combos gives you an affordable option to try a bunch of stuff. I originally went with the Deluxe Sushi Combo. Not badly priced at $ 16.99 with miso soup and salad. The 7 pieces of nigiri came with salmon, tuna, yellowtail, white tuna, red snapper, mackerel, and eel. They do have some special fish, but hard to know what it is when you order online. One of the many reasons to eat in, but the take out is so convenient. If you want to stay in and get some affordable sushi, or do the Rock and Raw combination, I recommend Sushi Raw.

Please don’t come here. Worst sushi place I’ve been to. (And I’m a sushi fanatic) They had like 10 people behind the counter, and we were the only customers in the restaurants and it was hard to get their attention. They’re not service focused at all. The rolls were smothered in wasabi/mayo and spicy/mayo. All of our plates were drowning in it! I still have the taste! All of out tummys were queezy after we ate there. Omg and don’t even remind me of the toilet tea!

I wasn’t going to write a negative review but felt compelled to since GrubHub offered a full refund(more than I expected to get) from my complaint and from the note I read, the restaurant declined to offer a refund forcing GH to assume responsibility. Uhhh okay. Here goes: So I’ve tried this place on two separate occasions in the past 2 – 3 years. I ordered last night truly wondering why I haven’t tried them again since the first time, then I remembered: their food is awful. Last night my boyfriend and I ordered: House ramen 0⁄5 Chicken Kaarage 1⁄5 Sake Nigiri Sushi 3⁄5 Spicy Tuna Deep Fried Roll 2⁄5 First, the ramen had this horrible, horrible stench to it. And granted, we ordered it to be delivered so I expected there to be slight difference to the ramen due to this(even though we are about 4 blocks away). I have never smelled ramen that has that odor it smelled like it had been pissed on… if there was something fermented in the soup that caused that smell(strange) bc it was never mentioned in the description(if that’s the case and I HOPE it is, add it to the description). I gagged when I smelled it, it was honestly disgusting. I couldn’t eat it. What a waste. And how could someone honestly package that garbage with that horrid smell??? Second, Since I couldn’t bear to eat the soup I ate some of the chicken Kaarage which tasted like they reheated it from the microwave. It tasted frost bitten and strange. Third, The nigiri wasnt bad it was soft and tender… but it was warm… I don’t know why people think it’s appetizing to group hot soups with cold sushi. Yuck. Fourth, The deep fried roll was not too appetizing. It was drippy and had a mayonnaise taste to it… Yuck yuck yuck. Yeah, I’m never coming here again.

I come here and order a lot. Eating here is fine. But pick up is the worst. I cannot even understand why multiple times I’ll order 30 min ahead, it’s not ready when I come, and I’ll wait 20 – 30 minutes more while people who came to eat in after me will be served and done eating while I still wait…5 times now and I still get tricked into picking up food here.

Visited this place this past Saturday after attempting to try out a different sushi spot that ended up being closed for lunch. When we got to this spot, it was pretty empty as I think we came after the lunch rush. We ordered about four rolls: spicy tuna, Niagara falls, Polar Bear, and Tiger roll. Spicy tuna came our first… it was ok, nothing to rave about. Next up were the Polar Bear and Tiger rolls which both had shrimp tempura in them. I absolutely loved that the tempura was still warm! Lastly came the Niagara Falls roll which had deep fried unagi on the inside and I think spicy tuna or some other raw fish on top. It came on a large plate which they used the sauce to decorate and make it look like falls. By this time we were so full from the other rolls but it was delicious nonetheless!

OK. So after my last 2 experiences(bad delivery, good dine-in) I thought that maybe the first delivery experience might have been an off day because the fish in the restaurant was so fresh. All my nigiri tasted off, the rice on the rolls was like grocery store sushi, and the gyoza was a bit soggy. Never ordering again.

We live in the neighborhood and this restaurant is very competitive with other near Japanese restaurant. Very friendly and accommodating and very child friendly. Can be very busy during weekends the only negative I can tell is that they don’t have a private parking so u have to use metered to park and very expensive if you get a ticket…

What a wonderful place! I went here with my gf for a date the other night(we are sushi junkies — seriously) and we loved it. I ordered a fried tofu dish that was delicious as was the caterpillar roll. The Bento box came well stocked with the dinner meal including soup, salad, AND rice(I like it when restaurants don’t try to squeeze that $ 1.50 out for rice). Whoever makes the sushi here does one helluva job. I’ve been to almost every sushi spot in castro /mission area and this one really impressed me the most. And that fried tofu! so good. Waiters were very responsive and super friendly even though the place was busy that night. I will come here again and if it’s as good as before this review will be upped to 5 stars :)

I live close by and always pass by this place, so I figure why not… First, this place is pretty pricey for sushi. I got 2 rolls, one of them was the regular tuna roll, which was just very standard. Honestly the sushi was unmemorable. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is friendly. I’d come back if I really was desperate for sushi, since its so close by.

Sushi was nothing special. Server was okay. After my aunt paid for our meal, she had over 5k charges on her card from various SF shops. The only place we used her card was at this restaurant. Very disappointing.

I stopped in to place a lunchtime takeout order on a Saturday. The waitress was nice, my order was done promptly, nothing wrong there. However, I ordered two bento box lunch meals with veggie sushi — I also asked about whether the miso soup was vegetarian(it’s not). So it was made pretty clear that these meals were for vegetarians(I am a quasi-pescetarian, but my boyfriend is not). I received three shrunken, sad-looking rolls in each bento box, with a scoop of rice, and a miniscule amount of bland miso soup(which I ate, being the pescetarian). These rolls were tiny — the smallest I had ever seen. The sweet potato ones were underdone, the avocado ones were turning brown less than 20 minutes after ordering, and the cucumber ones tasted like old fish(contaminated cutting boards, I’m sure) and had all exploded apart in transit, despite delicate care. The rice was sticky and didn’t seem fresh. We also ordered a seaweed salad, and for $ 5.50, it was a tiny little portion and lots of less-than-fresh pieces in it. Also, inexplicably, there was a California roll in my order — which looked fatter and more delicious than the others, but given that it was a vegetarian order, and I can’t eat mayo, went to waste. I paid $ 35 for a pathetic amount of bland, less-than-fresh food that isn’t really suitable for vegetarians. My boyfriend was disappointed, which was extra sad, because I had bought him the sushi lunch to cheer him up after a hard week. Sushi Raw owners, there are plenty of complaints here about the freshness and lack of vegetarian options. DOSOMETHINGABOUTIT. I will never go here again… Sushi Tao down the street gives amazing value for the $, caters wonderfully to vegetarians and is always super fresh and delicious. Regretting not walking the extra few blocks that day!

I come here all the time… probably have been here around 10 times for lunch. The service is good here, and the prices are reasonable. There is nothing amazing or spectacular about the food here, but it does the job. The veggie sushi rolls are super small, and not really geared towards vegetarians or vegan here for sure. The only non meat item on the menu for their dine in special is seaweed salad): wish there were more options… The veggie sushi roll I ordered was nothing special… I’ve ordered the ramen in the past and it was alright… didn’t blow my socks off or anything. I’ll probably still come here though because it’s close and relatively cheap for sushi.

The sushi here is decent for the price you pay. The boyfriend and I paid $ 60 for a sushi boat, unagi hand roll, and two oysters. While the sashimi is not that good, it wasn’t terrible(I didn’t get a stomachache so it means it was at least fresh). You get a lot of food for what you pay for because they offer specials for every $ 15 you spend — I. e, the oysters were only $ 1.50 each or something, while the hand roll was only $ 2. The service was friendly, as they checked on us often and kept our teacups refilled. We had salad and miso soup with our orders, which was nice. I wouldn’t come back for the sashimi, but would considering returning for the sushi rolls since this place is fairly cheap for San Francisco.
