History

Established in 2009.

Serina Calhoun, the founding Principal Architect, has been practicing Architecture since 2001. Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, she relocated to the Bay Area after college and continued her career here.

After 9 years of practice, she was the Senior Associate for a well-known Architecture firm in San Francisco, but decided that it was time to leave and launch her own endeavor.

Despite the economic downturn, she has built a successful company with a wide range of projects in less than a year.

Serina C.

Business Owner

Serina obtained her Bachelor’s of Architecture as well as a Bachelor’s of Environmental Design from North Dakota State University in 2001.

In 2001, she relocated to the BAy Area and began working at a small firm in Burlingame — CSS Architecture. During her tenure there, she obtained incredible training from the head Master Architect. The majority of the work was institutional, including managing the bond program and all the Architectural work for 6 high schools in San Jose.

In order to expand her project experience to other building types, she left there in 2004 and moved to Levy Design Partners.

At Levy Design Partners, she quickly climbed the office ladder and became the Senior Associate, overseeing the staff development, hiring, project management, and office standards. She also obtained her Architectural License.

Despite the potential for partnership, she decided to leave in the Fall of 2009 and launch her own company, dedicated to her own design philosophies and beliefs.
