Layne is so great. She takes our dog to the beach everyday, and the dog always comes home exhausted and happy. Layne will also take her when we go out of town.
One other great thing about Layne is that she communicates really thoroughly, sending fun pictures from the beach and checkins when we’re on the road.

Layne and Tailwaggers is fantastic. I have a fairly large dog (80lbs) who is very headstrong. Ty loves playing so much, he doesn’t always want to come back to the car when it’s time to leave! But Layne is fantastic with him, and gets him to obey, even under circumstances when I can not.
Ty gets plenty of exercise on his outings, and always comes back happy and tired. Layne is great at taking pictures of my baby at play, so I can see how much fun he has with her. I feel completely comfortable with her skills and ability to keep the pack happy and safe when they are out playing.
I’ve also boarded my pup with her, and she has been fabulous on those days and nights when I’ve been away. Ty comes home happy and healthy. So much better than large (and impersonal) board and care places.
I think Layne and Tailwaggers is the best in the city. I would recommend her to anyone.

So, I wanted to give an update since it’s been a while since my last review back in 2007. Layne has been walking my dogs now for 7 YEARS! She has taken care of both of my dogs with care, love, and respect. Very very reliable, conscientious, and a wonderful person. The dogs love to walk with her and she lover all of the dogs in her «pack». It shows. I highly recommend Tailwaggers for nice long, reliable walks. You won’t be disappointed.

Layne was fantastic and so wonderful with all of the dogs! She had a tough job keeping all the dogs together and they all seemed to love her so much that it turned into an easy job!
We have a medium-​large dog and she can be tough. We had a couple dog walkers decline to walk her, because she had so much energy and was hard to control. Layne met her and really hit it off with her! The other dogs she brought at the meeting were wild but very obedient to Layne and she was always in control. Our dog used to get so excited when Layne would come pick her up for her walk, that even though she and I would be playing at home, when she heard the door open at around 10:30am, she would drop what she was doing and run downstairs to meet her.
Layne’s feedback and communication was excellent. On most days, it would be a simple status report but if anything ever happened (good or bad) we would get a detailed note with exactly what happened. We couldnt have asked for anything more from a dog walker and neither could our dog!

We love Layne and Tailwaggers. I have a super high-​energy Jack Russell, Milton, who needs tons of exercise every day. Before Layne’s services I stressed every day about his happiness and whether I was keeping him fully exercised.
Milton has now been going on dog hikes with Layne for 3 months now and he LOVES it. Every day he comes home all happy and relaxed and I can tell he’s been up to some adventures.
In recent weeks I started working longer hours, so I asked Layne if she could take Milton on both her hikes (morning and afternoon), 3 days a week. She said, no problem! I’ve also had to go out of town a few different times and each time Layne was able to host Milton in her home with her dogs. So much better than daycare! It’s wonderful to have this kind of flexibility with her and I no longer have to worry about making sure Milton has a great doggy life even despite my often hectic work hours.
We are super grateful to know Layne and highly recommend her dog walking.

Layne has been walking our two dogs for six years now. They absolutely love her! She takes them to fun places like Fort Funston and Stern Grove where they can romp and run free with their doggie buddies, and they’re usually out for 2 – 3 hours of the day. They come home tired and happy. She’s reliable and trustworthy, and we’d trust our dogs to her any day.

Layne is a true gem. We’ve had several dog walkers for our little deaf Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Sally, and Layne is simply the best.
Sally is very high energy and Layne brings her home exhausted and happy. She even brings treats for my cat. Both of my pets are so excited when she comes to the house.
Layne is super flexible and thorough, and also does overnight care. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a dog-​walker for pet care in general since she also does house visits for cats.

TailWaggers is without question the best personal pet care service in San Francisco. Owner /​operator Layne is awesome. I’m pretty much convinced she is a dog whisperer. She provides much more than simply pet walking and pet sitting. Her dog playgroups are a great example. She takes a group of dogs who have had the chance to become acquainted with each other to fun outings like McLaren Park and Fort Funston, where they can swim and frolic for a couple of hours.
For the past two and one half years my dog, Ruby, has been a member of Layne’s afternoon playgroup. She can barely contain her enthusiasm when Layne comes to pick her up for the group. At times I think she loves Layne, more than she loves me. Ruby eagerly jumps in the car and greets her pals without any indication of separation anxiety. And when she returns home several hours later, she is in a state of perfect contentment. She lounges on the couch and only gets up to eat her dinner or the occasional warning «woof.»
I also attribute Ruby’s good manners to Layne. In fact, when she first became a member of the playgroup I was afraid that she might just be a little too uncontrollable for Layne to handle. My dog is one aggressive bitch. Fortunately, Layne had no trouble establishing a good connection from the day one. Layne is the boss and my dog responds with unwavering love and devotion to Layne’s gentle voice, directions, and commands.
I have been equally pleased to have Layne care for my dog when I had to be away. I do not believing in having my dog sleep in a crate or boarding facilities with concrete slab and iron grills. That’s just not right. Once again, Layne to the rescue. On several occasions she has taken care of Ruby as a guest in her home. I’ve attached pictures to show just how welcoming her home is. Cuddle time.
Layne is great at what she does and has become a great friend. I highly recommend TailWaggers!

Layne is the best. After 4 years she has become a firm family friend. We trust her completely and our dogs absolutely adore her.
Every time I see a troop of forlorn dogs doing a miserable street walk on leashes I thank goodness we have Layne. She takes our pooches out on real excurions that they love. The possibility of losing Layne was one of you main concerns relocating within SF. Luckily we were able to keep her. Enough said.

I discovered Layne and Tailwaggers right around the time she was starting her business, and ever since, her visits to my now nearly 20 year-​old cat have been indispensible whenever my partner and I are away for more than a couple days. When she was younger, a few days of alone time were no big deal to my cat, but about 3 years ago, she started to act out terribly if left alone in the house for more than a day — clinging and screeching on our return after having ignored the existence of the litter box while we were gone. Enter Layne. Her visits must be so lovingly focused on the cat, because she is perfectly content and nonchalant when we return now, and the house is missing any signs of feline mischief. Layne also really does help out with the little household necessities, too, which is value added. She’s brought in our mail, put the garbage bin on the curb, watered plants, fed other pets (fish, mice). When we met with Layne at the start, it was so clear right off the bat that she loves the animals she cares for and really connects with them no matter how briefly or long a time she spends with them. In addition, she runs her business very professionally, is clear about charges and invoicing, and she’s always been available whenever I’ve needed her help. I highly recommend her and Tailwaggers.

Thank GOD for Layne!!! We first sought her out when we were leaving for two weeks — my mom was sitting the dogs but ain’t no way she could handle walking them all (70-​lbs rescue, 20 lbs rescue, 10 lbs rescue). So she came every other day to get their energy out. Now, mind you, my rescues, esp the big girl, are all «special needs» and have a lot of «issues.» She has her moments and needs a LOT of patience and Layne has them in spades! My dogs now get SUPER excited when her car pulls up and I am even MORE excited when she brings them back b/​c i know I will have a day or two of happy, exercised, tired dogs — mean, quiet house =)

I would recommend Layne to anyone. My dog has been a part of her playgroup to Fort Funston for about 9 months and he gets quite a workout, especially going all the way down to the beach. Also fun is that she sends photos of the doggies at play!

Our dog, Taffy, loves her time with Layne. Taffy comes home, happy, thirsty and tired each time.
When choosing a dog walker for Taffy we wanted someone that would take Taffy to the same parks we would take her, not some crummy fenced in dirt-​hole. Layne takes such good care of Taffy that we would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Can’t say enough about Layne and TailWaggers. So glad Tailwaggers is in Unilocal now.
We were lucky enough to find her 2 years ago and she is so reliable, loving and caring to our dog. She really has a connection with all the dogs she works with. When we take our dog to the various dogparks in the city and see lame dogwalkers sitting on a bench or chatting-​up a friend on the cell phone while they dogs they are watching stand around bored out of their mind, we are so thankful our little guy has Layne.
My wife and I work and are gone from the house during the business day but we didn’t want our dog to go psycho and be anti-​social. Let me tell you, when he gets back form going out with Tailwaggers, he is exhausted. He is so happy and tired. He has the time of his life every time.
The «dogwalking» classification in Unilocal doesn’t really cut it for Tailwaggers because Layne is now really more a good friend of the family and guardian helping us keep our pet healthy, happy and social. We are very lucky to have found Tailwaggers and you will be happy too if you want more for your pet.

Layne, the owner of TailWaggers, has been walking, exercising, and occasionally boarding our dog for over 6 3 years. Our dog is so excited to see her each workday that he lies by the front door at the time she usually comes by to pick him up to go run and play at the beach or the park. He comes home a happy and tired dog, from all the running, which is a very good thing!
We completely trust Layne to take care of our dog as if he were her own.
