Its a good size burrito for its price. It opens late and you can go to this place instead of El Farollito to avoid the long line!

For me, Taqueria Vallarta has the best Taco in SF Bay Area. It has some meat that are hard to found in most other average Mexican restaurants.

At the end of a long trip after flying in to SFO and taking the BART, I stopped here for dinner. It was a week day night around 9 pm and hardly anyone was there so there was no wait. I got a carne asada super burrito and it was decent, but not as good as other taquerias I have been to. The meat was very juicy and flavorful but the burrito was not«super» in terms of the portions of rice, beans, and the filling. I loaded up on the salsas since the burrito was a little smaller than I had expected, and the salsa bar was excellent with a nice choice of tasty, authentic salsas, pico de gallo, cilantro & onions. Overall a good experience. Also the lady who served me was very friendly and gave me free chips with my order. I would definitely come back and see the burrito is more filled next time around.

As any proper San Franciscan, of course I must have an opinion on the best tacos in town. And Taqueria Vallarta’s are mine. Served from a large beautiful grill of meats, this place takes mission tacos to a whole new level. Favorites: chorizo, carnitas and al pastor(although they tend to run out of carnitas). They grill the tortillas before serving you the tacos, which gives them a nice toasty flavor, as opposed to nice meat on a cold tortilla. I would also recommend asking them for the grilled onions. Their sauces are excellent as well. To be honest, I’ve never had anything there but the tacos. Don’t see why you would, but maybe someday, the day will come.

This is my personal favorite taqueria of all time and I’m writing this because I miss it so much. hope to make it back soon. Their carne asada super burrito hits the spot. The burrito isn’t very consistent from day to day in terms of filling ratios, but it’s always got plenty of tasty meat and chunky fillings. They’ve got groupons all the time, and I’ve never had a problem redeeming mine. Just queue it up on your phone before you get to the register so you don’t hold up the line. Service isn’t smiley friendly, but they get your order right and give it to you in a short amount of time.

I come here for a quick lunch or snack. Their veggie burritos are great, and so is their wet burrito. They’ve given me free chips on multiple occasions, which I thought was nice. They’re decently priced with VERY generous serving sizes and portions. If I’m looking for a quick snack, I usually go for the quesadilla de harina. They have 3 – 4 salsa options at the salsa bar, which is cool. They’re all decently spiced, which is what I look for in a salsa to give my food a nice kick! I’ve taken my friends here, too, and it was great. I also made a couple friends here too! Nice environment and definitely expresses true Mission culture.

Having gone to school in San Diego, I went for the regular California Burrito. Big mistake. Wish we went for the tacos instead. Charged an even $ 25.00 for 2 California Burritos at $ 7.95 each 2 small agua frescas. Very much over charged I asked her, if the price was correct and she confirmed that it was. Not going back if I can’t trust the cashiers.

A popular place where the«mixed» crowd of inhabitants and transients of the inner mission, seek nourishment. Taqueria Vallarta produces a solid and«traditional» taqueria fare. Fast and efficient. The taco«bar» at the front is a shining example of American capitalism, churning tacos as fast as the makers hands can move. Other fare… the other counter where it is not quite as fast. Order and wait. They WILL call you. Sporting tables for the masses to enjoy their taco or burrito or plato conquests, it is a welcomed accommodation for some. Gotta carnitas burrito, various tacos and a plato to go — it was a Delicious high calorie, high fat indulgence. Basic and good… what else could be conjured from a taqueria? It was GREAT !

Los tamales que venden en este lugar saben ricos y tienen buen precio. Mis favoritos son los de queso. Los de fresa no los recomiendo, no tienen sabor y están muy pegajosos.

The tacos here are the best I’ve had in San Francisco. When you walk in, there is a huge frying pan where all the meats are sectioned off and cooking. I had the carnitas, pollo, and barbacoa and they were all amazing. There are multiple hot sauces to choose from — the habanero is crazy hot. Definitely come here if you are looking for a quick bite, affordable($ 2.50 per taco), and super flavorful food!

We came here on a Sunday night. The tortillas were over-toasted. However, they provide generous portions of meat. In terms of personal preference: Cabeza was the best… and then Chorizo… and then Carne Asada. Some meats were over-cooked. I think the meat cooker is over-worked.he was sweating balls. Service is fast. You need to portion your own onions/cilantro/sauce: huge negative for lazy people. Price: expensive compared to CA average but normal for SF standards.

I’ve never been disappointed by this place. Burritos, tacos, quesadilla, tortas and tamales, i tried all of them and they’re all tasty. The food comes out pretty fast, unlike other places in the area.

I guess it’s mediocre, much like most of the Mission Taqueria’s, this one is nothing to write home about. In fact my favorite thing about this meal was the avocado on top, believe it or not, which of course is not saying much. Of course, I ordered the enchiladas and not their burrito, but hey, you would think that they’d be able to do a better than average job with that. Apparently not.

Found this gem by chance. We were so famished after visiting the Balmy St. and this is the nearest food place at the end of the street. And we never regret it! I had the loaded Lengua Quesadilla that’s really delicious. The serving is enough for two and their pricing is very reasonable. My husband grabbed several kinds of meat & salsa from the taco bar. Just make sure to ask about their sauces before pouring it(especially if you can’t read spanish like us) lol or else you’ll end up pouring a sauce that looks like«mild» but is hecka hot. After eating their quesadilla, my standard for quesadilla has never been the same.

A taqueria that’s open late & serves fresh ingredients in all there food and has an open taco bar is always a win. But when there entire menu is filled with awesome tasty meals and takes you on a trip to flavor town the you’re winning all around and taco Vallarta has all of that. The first thing everyone seems to talk about is that fact it’s open late. It’s open till 3am which is a plus when you’re out late with friends and need a quick meal. But the food is also a top notch reason to go here. I’m a burrito guy and all the burritos are below you’re average cost(about $ 7 a burrito) where most places start at $ 8 and range up to $ 13 dollars, depending on the size and choice. There taco bar is also a fantastic way of bringing a traditional Mexican meal with a twist to people with a fun twist. The food is prepared right in front of you(which is always good) and the freshness of the tomatoes, onions and salsa is refreshing for the palate. I’ve noticed all the different flavors of meat are juicy and the quality has always been top notch. With so many options to choose from, I find the more fattier meat holds its flavor a little better. The restaurants ambiance is terrific. The location is large and fits numerous amounts of people. The décor looks great because the walls are covered with hand painted murals the showcase the history of the mission and San Francisco. A very nice twist from traditional taquerias that all seem to look the same. Overall great place for Mexican food and tacos are to die for. The late hours make it a big plus for the twenty something crowds especially after midnight. The only downside is the lack of parking and the fact that the lines get really long due to the popularity of this location. But hey that’s a great sign if you ask me.

I was not feeling the food here at all. Not sure if I ordered the wrong thing since most people here seemed to rave about the tacos, but I got a taste of the chicken burrito and carne asada con camarones and neither left me with a lasting impression that would make me want to come back. The chicken burrito was very salty and I couldn’t even tell what I was eating. Looked like a brown mess inside with some noticeable guac and sour cream mixed in between. The carne asada con camarones took a long time to come out and was only okay. A third of the plate was covered in cheese and refried beans, none of which I like. I’m not sure if you can order without and get more of something else if you don’t want beans/cheese but I didn’t try asking. That’s my b on my part, but the rest of the plate wasn’t very impressive anyways. The carne asada was very thinly sliced and quite dry. I think the only decent tasting items on the plate were the grilled green onions, shrimp, and mushrooms. Everything else was just meh. It seems to be a pretty popular place in the Mission… hyped if you ask me. I’ll stick to the South Bay’s Mexican, I’ve had better there.
