We are a small neighborhood law firm that works hard to provide affordable quality legal services to our clients. We concentrate primarily in Bankruptcy, Real Estate and Employment law.

In bankruptcy, we primarily represent consumers and smaill businesses. We are a law firm/​debt relief agency that helps people to file bankruptcy. By filing bankruptcy, people are often able to save their homes, cars and other property.

In real estate, we provide full service representation for Landlords, Tenants, property owners and clients having issues related to real estate transactions. You have rights and we work hard to enforce and protect those rights. We concentrate on evictions, eviction defense, rent control issues and other real property matters including all aspects of real estate transactions.

In employment, we represent Employees in matters relating to Wrongful Termination, Discrimination and Wage and Hour (including breaks, overtime and payment) issues.

A practicing attorney in San Francisco for more than 15 years, Mark Epstein has advocated on behalf of hundreds of satisfied clients in areas ranging from consumer and small business bankruptcies and residential and commercial real estate transactions to employment discrimination and wrongful termination. Known for his devotion to community service, Mark has been honored with California’s Wile W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services. He also received the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Award of Merit for his remarkable commitment to the Bar Association’s Volunteer Legal Services Program and its clients. In 2002, he was profiled in the San Francisco Recorder as a local pro bono hero.

In addition to his law practice, Mark runs a full-​service real estate brokerage concentrating on property management residential real estate and investments.

Needed someone to assist with tenant and landlord issues and so glad I found Mark Epstein from The Epstein Group.

+ Got a scheduled consultation with Mark on the following business day over the phone. He explained what I should do in a very clear and concise manner. Very professional and pointed as he explained landlord rights and concerns with tenants.

I first had the pleasure of speaking with Mark Epstein a little over 4 years ago regarding an employment matter. He gave me FREE advice over the phone and even helped me draft a letter of complaint regarding my employment issue — again FREE. Most recently he assisted with resolving some debt management issues. He has always kept me abreast of everything that was going on in my case. I never had difficulty reaching him and he ALWAYS returned my calls and emails asap. He also made sure that my real estate property would be put into trust. I can now sleep better at night knowing that my children will not have to go through probate to take possession of the family home. I honestly do not know why Mark’s name is NOT a household one — it should be — it is for sure in my household. I will also continue to refer him to others. Cant say enough good things about the Epstein Group. It is as good as it gets.

My experience at the Epstein Group has been nothing short of fabulous, and I don’t just mean that sartorially. Professional, efficient, straightforward: Mr Catalanotti spoke to me in clear layman’s terms about the legal avenues for redress of my tenant problems. With little pomp, he quickly laid out my rights and responsibilities as a landlord and avoided a costly court battle.
In a business with more than its fair share of unscrupulous operators, both Mr Catalanotti and Mr Epstein are well-​regarded in San Francisco for their high ethical standards and involvement in the community. Incidentally, I’m saddened to see a defamatory personal attack from an obviously unbalanced individual, apparently on the receiving end of Mr Catalanotti’s vigorous and successful litigation for his client’s rights. It is my understanding that Unilocal is intended for reviews from those who have actually engaged in business with an establishment, not as a forum for pettiness or sour grapes complaints.
