I’ve been small business owner, here in SF for 10 years and I know what it takes to run a tight and successful business. Paying close attention, having a customer focused biz model, and knowing your business and actually liking (if not loving) what you do.
Ulises at The Passport Office is a such a person that understands this and runs his Office in a professional and friendly manner. This guy really knows his stuff. Just listening to him interact with clients is something else.
He turned around my passport renewal in 3 days and saved me not only the hassle of dealing with the State Dept., but time and money.
I cannot recommend Ulises and The Passport Office more highly! If you need passport assistance, look no further.

Omg! Ulises saved the day! When he says what has to be done, do it! Don’t let the post office tell you differently. He was a tremendous help to me in expediting my passport, I don’t know what I would have done!

First time I used this service was to renew my daughters passport. it wasn’t super urgent but needed it within four weeks. Got it sooner than expected. Most recently, I had to renew my passport ASAP, I used «Expedite» service and it was great! I hadn’t purchase my travel ticket yet so didn’t have itinerary, Ulises helped me with that issue. No hassle, no time wasted and I got my passport in 24 hours. Service fee is well worth it. Ulises is very helpful with questions.

Getting my passport here was as great an experience as I could’ve hoped for. Ulises was absolutely terrific: friendly, professional, and fast. I was gobsmacked by how quickly I got my passport; I’d been under significant time pressure, and… yeah. That was faster than my most optimistic hopes.
Unilocal’s information slug for this office is a little out of date; they recently moved to 870 Market Street.

Went here for an emergency last minute passport. I never once had a passport prior to this past trip, so I was afraid of having to wait longer and paying more fees than the regular renewal. Contrary to my speculations, I was on my way with my new passport in half the length of time I initially anticipated. I can’t thank this place enough! The entire staff is extremely helpful and seemed to be genuinely interested in my first trip outside the US. Thank you Maria!

After realizing that I hadn’t changed my name on my passport to my married name, The Passport Office gracefully got me everything I needed within a handful of days before my international trip. Seriously, I can’t thank them enough. The people were nice, and while the office building itself looks a little sketchy, it was all good — secure building.

I had an issue with my passport application and it had to be sent back with a request for more documentation. The Passport Office was so friendly and helpful guiding me through the whole process of resending my application and the additionally needed paperwork. And it came in even sooner than expected! Highly recommend.

Ulises was extremely helpful and made it a quick and very easy process. Overall, great experience and everyone was kind and accommodating.

Coming back from Cambodia, the immigration officer was shaking his head, saying «full» in the best English he could. He stamped it anyway and back to the USA I went. So I leave for Bermuda in 2 weeks with a full passport I decided to check out the US passport office on Hawthorne in SOMA. I got there at 0930 and it was 25 people deep, after 1 hour of waiting and no movement of the line, I decided to come to the Passport Office 2 blocks away. I am so glad I did, It was easy peezy, had to go home and get my check book for the Govt fee for $ 142 and paid the agency $ 99 which was so worth it. If I didn’t Id still be in that dang line.
I got there around 11AM returned around noon with a check and got an email at 3pm stating my passport was submitted and got a call Monday afternoon stating it was ready! Staff was helpful and nice, if time is important and money not so much then come here!

Incredible service! I received my passport in two business days with no inconvenience. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and very efficient. I realize the cost is greater for the third party company, but how valuable is your time? Especially when you need to travel for work or on your next vacation.

I had to fly to Montréal in less than one week for a job interview. Ulysses walked me through everything I had to do and turned around my passport in record time despite the post office making an error in processing my paperwork. He was calm and collected while I wigged out. Only he could have pulled this off less than 2 days before my flight. At then end of the process he had essentially done two quick turnarounds and wasn’t charging me nearly the amount he could have been. Thanks Ulysses. Salut from Montréal!

I used their Miami office as we live in Florida. They were amazing! We dropped off the passport and they got it renewed in two days and we went to pick it up promptly avoiding any mail service costs and delays. I am very impressed!!! Everyone who helped through the process was professional and polite. They work very hard answering phones at 7:30 am and after hours. Other companies who force you to mail the passport and documents etc could not guarantee that we would get the passport on time for our trip, but the Passport Office in Miami got the job done! Thank you!

Our trip was saved. After finding out from the check-​in person at SFO at 6:30 am that my passport had expired in February (no, I hadn’t checked it!), we took a cab to The Passport Office and were there waiting when they opened at 8 am. They took all the information, including our rescheduled itinerary, shot a decent photo, collected the money, and told me to go home until 4. Later that afternoon, as promised, the passport was delivered to me, ready for use the next morning! Words of caution… ALWAYS CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE, BUT IF YOU DON’T, these people will help you –just make sure you have enough cash for the State Department fee for the expedited passport and are willing to pay the (very reasonable) fee to The Passport Office (can be paid with a credit card). Great job, thank you.

This agency is amazingly helpful .
Yes they got my passport less than 24 house. I paid an extra $ 140 but it was all worth it .
I am traveling in one month and I could not risk to wait 6 – 8 weeks for standard process .

BE CAREFUL YOU ONLY CONTACT THE SF OFFICE. The contacts listed on Unilocal are the national contacts (both website and phone) and the national folks were nothing like SF. It was only because of these great Unilocal that I kept searching for a direct number to SF. Here are the SF office contacts:
One other thing to be aware of. On both the national & SF website, for what I was doing, it said that you need to show an itinerary. I wasnt ready to buy a ticket because I wasn’t sure I would get my PassP back on time. The site tells you that you can make a reservation on the on-​line booking sites (Travelocity/​etc) but that is not correct. I tried 3 of them and none will make a reservation w/​o paying for it. It will allow you to print an itinerary, but not with your name on it– so that doesnt work. In order to have your name on it, you must pay for it. When I told Ulicese about that, he said he could make one for me– but by then I had gotten an old-​school travel agency to make me one (which they can do w/​o making you pay for it yet). So go with an old-​school agency, or have Ulicese do it for you.
Other than that– everything went perfectly. I could have skipped all the problems if I had reached SF directly which is why Im providing their link you the Unilocalers out there. The national folks would have gotten 0 stars. When I told the national lady that the info on their site wasn’t accurate (about using Travelocity) she hung up on me!

My review is mixed: 5 stars for Ulises, but 3 stars for the business. Let me explain.
Like everybody else who uses this service, my story starts with a dumb mistake. In my case, nine days before our flight to Paris I realized that I’d forgotten to renew my passport back in September.
When I googled «passport renewal San Francisco» I landed on this page:
Ten years ago (due to theft), I’d had to spend much of two days at the ACTUAL passport office, and so I was pleased to discover that I could get my passport renewed at short notice without having to go to the City.
As you can see from the photo, the intro page looks very official with the backdrop of the Capitol building. The request for travel data is reassuring. Once you fill out the form, the next page that pops up presents links for all the materials you need to download and FedEx off to the office. It all looks very official!
Shortly thereafter, I called the 800 number on the form and reached Ulises. He straightened out a problem with my credit card, and even gave me his direct phone number. I had to call him back twice as I filled out the forms, and at a couple of points he told me that I could ignore certain requests.
For the next 18 hours, I believed that I was dealing with the actual, federal passport office. I sent off the materials to «The Passport Office,» and Ulises called me at 9:01 a.m. the next day to tell me that he’d received them.
His next statement shocked me: «You didn’t include the money order to the Department of State for $ 170.» He sounded puzzled.
«But I’ve already paid you with my credit card!» I replied.
«That’s just OUR fee,» Ulises informed me.
It was at that moment that I realized that I was dealing with a private company, and not the U.S. Passport office. My heart sank. What to do? There wasn’t time for me to get the money to San Francisco before the 10:00 a.m. cutoff.
«I’ll tell you what I’ll do,» Ulises offered. «I’ll cover your fee, and you can bring me cash when you come to pick up your passport in person.»
And that’s exactly what took place.
However, I spent the day on tenterhooks, because I checked out the name of the company that had taken my $ 179 and they have an «F» rating from the Better Business Bureau, and uniform 1-​star ratings from customers complaining that they couldn’t get their money back once they discovered that they were paying for services that they could do for themselves. But then I relaxed at bit when I discovered that Ulises himself had rave reviews on Google +.
So, I have mixed feelings. One of the recent Unilocalers wrote: «I really feel [Ulises] is a gem. He could work anywhere he has a stellar personality and is very professional. » I totally agree!
On the other hand, the cost of my passport skyrocketed to $ 179 + $ 34 for shipping to the firm + $ 12 for passport photo to another $ 170 for the State Department plus $ 5 for Ulises’ money order. (Furthermore, $ 30 of the $ 179 was for FedEx fees that they never had to spend.)
So, while I have now joined the ranks of «fans of Ulises,» I am NOT a fan of the company.
Yes, I am now able to fly to Paris on Tuesday — hurrah and thanks! But did I really need to spend $ 400 for a new passport?

ok now reading most of the reviews I could already tell that Ulisses was going to be amazing ! And it’s true he is so so nice and very approachable. I have worked in customer service for over 9 years and I really feel he is a gem. He could work anywhere he has a stellar personality and is very professional. Truly a great experience I would recommend this office and him especially to anyone who was looking to get their passport! Ulises is a lifesaver! Love his personality also. We have a trip scheduled for Bora Bora for our honeymoon and realized that my husband’s passport would expire before 90 days of our return date which means they wouldn’t let us into the country. Who knew that was a rule!!! Ulises knew how important this was and made it happen in 7 hours. We leave tomorrow and couldn’t have done it without The Passport Office. Thank you sooo much!!!

I happened to walk past their street sign advertising passport photos and stopped in the next day for a photo. I showed up without an appointment and was in and out in about 5 minutes. Cost of photo was $ 15. In their office Ulises was friendly, helpful, and quick. If I’m in need of any additional passport or visa work I’ll be back.
