He never commits to time!!!
That’s been a big issue with Jerome, on the phone he is totally professional, and have a great attitude. But after what? Responding to multiple calls and texts after a WEEK!!! He simply never commits to time, do have in mind the address is also false. He is located in Sacramento not San Fransisco! He also has an excuse every single time for not responding. Here are a few examples: ((Traveling, concert, out of town for a period of time and also his friend passed away)). I find anything he says hard to believe, he has been giving me excuses since the beginning of the service and I gave him the benefit of the doubt till I realized he has been abusing it. He offered me some of his services free of charge, since he he didn’t deliver in a timely matter. I really appreciated those services till I realized he still never responds in a timely matter.
JEROME if you’re constantly doing things out of town, maybe you should consider responding to your customers regardless.

I worked with Jerome for both resume writing and career coaching when I was looking to make a pivot with my professional trajectory. In addition to giving me timely, polished tools for my transition he was an excellent sounding board to assist in stepping into an industry that is in it’s infancy. I felt as if I was working with a trusted family friend that happened to be an expert on personal branding and professional transitioning.

Jerome was amazing in creating my resume– I was a new graduate in a highly competitive medical field and had no prior experience beyond my school clinical experience in critical care. Jerome sat down with me and we talked for over an hour about my program, my clinical time in the hospitals, and my former job experience. The resume he created for me was outstanding and I have had several interviews at Level I trauma centers based on my resume. I have recommended his work to several friends of mine and encourage anyone who is looking to have an amazing resume to utilize his services!

Resume writing
He was able to distill several pages of plain language descriptions into very specific, powerful points in the language of my industry. He definitely does his homework to learn exactly what your experience was and translates that into how it would look best to a prospective employer. I had several questions about the «why’s» behind some of the formatting and he took time to thoroughly explain the reasoning to me.
Interview coaching
Again, he is incredible at explaining the «why’s» for his techniques, which helps you answer in your own voice. He is incredibly positive and gives very constructive feedback in a way that makes you feel empowered for an interview.
He definitely takes pride in his work and you can see that in the great care he takes in crafting resumes and explaining his methods. I’ve had friends who have used other services that were faster, but no where near the quality.

I came to Jerome looking to spruce up my resume. I was in the middle of a career transition and had no idea where to begin. Jerome was able to take ALL of my career, volunteer, and professional experiences and turn it into a resume masterpiece. He was thorough, prompt and more than willing to answer all my questions. To say that he is wonderful to work with would be an understatement. I’m so grateful to Jerome and HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who is looking to get the job that they have their eyes set on!!!

Jerome is AMAZING at what he does! A true professional, he was thorough and put lot of great work into what I asked of him. He helped me with two grad school application essays, as well as a resume. The essays looked fantastic when he edited them, and my resume looks better than it ever has!
We met at a coffee shop to discuss the essays and he went over the prompts with me. He helped me to organize my thoughts/​ideas and gave me invaluable tools to put it together. Writing essays for grad school apps can be very stressful, but he helped me to stay organized and it was much less stressful than it could have been. I found him about a week before the first one was due and he worked very hard and got it edited in time despite having other projects I’m sure he was working on simultaneously. Both essays turned out GREAT and I’m more confident about getting accepted now than I ever have been.
As for the resume, he fully explained the process behind putting one together, was thorough with his questions about me and my experience so he could put one together that covered it all, and then formatted it in a way that would get potential employers’ attention. Since I was looking at applying to three different types of jobs, I then made three separate versions of it and he was then kind enough to look ALL THREE of them over and make any necessary adjustments to maximize their appeal. So, I now have three beautiful resumes!
As for the results of all this hard work, I have yet to hear back from the schools I applied to, but I started applying to jobs right away. One of the places I gave my resume to called me after only 20 minutes of having it faxed to their hiring staff and requested an interview for the next day. I interviewed and got the job!!! I am confident that the reason they called and scheduled with such urgency is that they were impressed with the resume.
In closing, I will be recommending Jerome at The Resume Shop to all friends and family members in the future. I will also be using him again when the time comes for resume updates and future grad school applications (if I don’t get in this year).

I finally received my resume today. Looks pretty good. Definitely much better than anything I could’ve done myself. Now I just have to wait for my cover letter…
I wish I had payed attention to the bad reviews noting his non-​responsiveness and missed deadlines. The initial transaction was easy and fast unfortunately the 7 – 10 days he says he will take to create the first draft turned into a month of hearing absolutely nothing from him. When I finally contacted him he said he would have it for me within 1 – 2 days, which quickly turned into 5.
So today, after 5 weeks of waiting I finally received my resume, I hope I won’t have to wait another 5 weeks to receive my cover letter.

Jerome produced an excellent resume. My only suggestion is to improve communication and client expectations.

Let’s start with the good:
Resume and Cover Letter — I have to admit, I was very happy with the final product. It was nothing I would ever have thought of to do myself, so I was impressed.
On to the bad:
Service — I picked Jerome because he had good reviews on Unilocal.He had a few negative reviews indicating non-​responsiveness but a). those were probably just flukes and b). I am not currently job searching and don’t have a timeline so it should be fine if it was delayed a bit.
In reality, those concerns were pretty dead on. I sent him my info the day after he requested and didn’t get any confirmation he received it until I asked a few days later. Long story short, his initial estimation of 7 – 10 days (first draft) after he received my initial information turned into 14 business days — ONLY after I sent him 3 emails, 1 voicemail and letting him know I was going to write a Unilocal review. It’s interesting though because after I initially emailed him to request his services, he was very quick to take my money and as soon as he sent me my cover letter, he was just as quick to take the rest of my payment. He offered to discount because of the delays — but I don’t mind paying full price for good service.
In the end, if you have infinite time and don’t care when you get your resume — I can attest you’ll get your money’s worth. Jerome knows how to write. However if you value service/​your own time and don’t want to be sending emails to possibly outer space (which is where I assume emails go when they go unanswered), go to a reputable and established resume writing firm. That way they have some kind of accountability. If you can’t meet your own demands, maybe something different needs to be done (waiting list of some sort?) so your service does not suffer. If anything, just answer emails and respond to your clients… I’m sure they’d be understanding if they get updates. :)

Jerome is amazing!!! I called him in an emergency needing a résumé and personal statement written within 2 – 3 days to meet a grad school application deadline. He totally worked with me and got everything done! Both the résumé and personal statement looked great! I will definitely go back to Jerome!

Jerome is simply the best of the best. I had a fantastic experience with Jerome who helped and edited my outdated resume into something clear, current and relevant. I recommend Jerome highly and emphatically to anyone who is looking for an effective career.

OK if you don’t like gushing reviews then move on people. Short story a company is recruiting me but required a complete reworking of my CV this was on a Sunday. I went to Unilocal for recommendations and called everybody. To their credit some got back to me but only Jerome got back to me and said «I can help you» Are their any nicer words in the world when you really, really need something done! Nobody who got back to me could do this on a SUNDAY! Nobody ‘cept Jerome. Ye, it was done perfectly and yes it was done for a fair price.

Not even sure where to start. The process started out with an out of office response from Jerome. He then stated that he would complete two resumes and two cover letters after I returned the worksheet, also that it would only take 5 – 7 business days to receive a first draft. By day 7 I hadn’t received any updates or response so I emailed Jerome, he indicated that he needed more time so I told him I would give him two more days (9 total). On day 9 I still hadn’t heard back so I once again sent him an email to which he responded he was traveling but was available to speak on Sunday so I told him to call me anytime on Sunday. Yet again, I didn’t hear from him so I emailed him again and he said he wasn’t available to speak on Sunday. It was the same story over and over again, lots of excuses. He refused to refund my payment when I expressed I was not satisfied with his services, even prior to receiving the first draft. I experienced the same things as the other negative reviews on here. Only after I threatened to leave negative feedback on here and to file complaints is when he finally emailed me what he had promised over a month ago. I would definitely not recommend The Resume Shop, INK. These are the problems I experienced during the process, please read everything and trust this review as well as the other negative reviews on Unilocal,they are 100% accurate as well as the following:
1) Missed deadlines
2) Repeated out of office automatic responses
3) Non-​responsive to emails and phone calls
4) Repeated excuses about his workload and how he had other projects to attend to
5) Repeated excuses about how his business is just starting to take off and how he does all of the writing himself so he is very busy (Pretty unprofessional to mention this to customers)
6) Very unprofessional
7) Repeated excuses about unexpected travel and being ill
I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and notify Unilocal of this vendor.

I agreed to Jerome’s service for an amount I feel worth the investment. Agreed was resume rewrite (2), cover letter and LinkedIn profile update. Communication was fast and efficient to negotiate the sale. Start at 5 stars.
Final product has gotten me a lot of attention. I have had ~3 phone screens per week and followups. I’m happy with the product.
Rating 4 stars as in the beginning I felt I had to manage the engagement a bit. Very happy and would use again.

Overall, not the best experience. Jerome seemed overwhelmed with workload and personal obligations and the service level seemed to suffer as a result.
Pros:
— The resume that Jerome delivered was much better than anything I could have written myself.
Cons:
— Delays. From the time that I submitted the requested information, it took Jerome 30 days to deliver a first draft of the resume. He initially promised it in 5 – 7 days, then in 9 days, then he stopped responding to emails.
— Responsiveness. Jerome didn’t respond to several of my emails. After 30 days, I requested a refund — and only then got the resume.
— He promised but never delivered a cover letter.
Definitely not worth $ 250+ in my opinion. I would not recommend him.

I absolutely recommend working with The Resume Shop, Ink. Jerome Imhoff is an amazing guy and he does some MAGIC! After I met with him, he worked on my resume and CL and I started to get interviews back to back :)
If someone is looking for an employment opportunity and need to retouch old resume and rewrite CL, Jerome is the guy!
