Thierry Hugand – State Farm Insurance Agent

I called Charlotte to set up auto insurance at the last minute while I was at a dealership getting a new car. Within minutes she set me up with a policy so that I could take the car home. She was incredibly friendly and helpful.

What is there to say about Thierry that hasn’t already been said? I’ve been involved with real estate here in San Francisco for a long time, and Thierry is as good as they come! Having gone through a number of insurance agents in the past, when I first worked with Theirry it was a match made in heaven. If you want someone who can break it down for you, get the job done quickly and efficiently (without cutting corners of course), and is the utmost professional, look no further. He’s the guy for any and all of your insurance needs! Keep up the great work Theirry, I look forward to working together for years to come.

We have been with Thierry Hugand’s agency since he set up shop in SF. They had been great and so we stayed with them even when we moved to LA. He, Genevieve and Charlotte are always personable and professional, and that’s been wonderful, but I they recently went to bat for us and delivered results beyond expectation. It was a tricky situation and they navigated it beautifully and delivered great results. These are people who you can trust, who you will enjoy speaking with and who know what they are doing. I could not recommend them more enthusiastically!

Thierry and his team are super helpful and always make themselves available to their client. There have been times that I needed support from them in a pinch and Genevieve was quick to lend a hand and make sure I got what I needed. They are professional, thoughtful about your risk profile, and always go the extra mile.

My wife and I have been with Thierry and his team since he began his San Francisco office and have found them consistently responsive — when we need them, they’re there!
Charlotte has found ways to reduce premiums and improve coverage for me a number of times. Most recently, she e-​mailed me that my rate for our car insurance had increased BUT that she thought we could save money if my annual mileage had decreased. Sure enough, I retired last year, my mileage has shrunk considerably, and she’s saving me an appreciable amount a year. Gotta love her proactivity!

I found Thierry via Unilocal and can’t say enough positive things about him and his team. We have a small business so he covers me for a wide range of business and personal needs. I have now been a client for years and his customer service continues to be outstanding.
First, he saved me a ton of money when moving from another agent. Second, there is not a time I can’t reach that team. Third, everyone on the team is incredibly nice.

My wife and I had a very bad insurance so we decided to change it. My wife contacted with Charlotte over the phone and i went to her office. I was surprised that meeting turn out very well. She gave us best options for our needs at a reasonable price. Also she was very helpful, professional and experienced. Additionally she helped us to get our reimbursement from our previous insurance which was still active.

I’m a property manager in Sausalito and have been working with Thierry and his superb staff for many years. His office handles quite a few properties for me and I know that I’ve always received competitive quotes from him, since it’s my job to make sure of that for my clients.
Two things really count in insurance besides the rates and I believe that they are the most important:
# 1 Does your insurance agent keep you informed of your ever changing needs and any real deficiencies that «do» need upgrading.
# 2 When there is a claim, is your claim handled expeditiously.
I have to give this office & staff a resounding yes !
Charlotte keeps me informed of all my various clients policy needs, including my own, and thoroughly explains what is needed and why. She also trims costs if possible and cut’s out items that may no longer be applicable.
Both she and Genevieve stay right «on it «in the event of a claim and neither one will be hard to get in touch with if you should need them. No lack of follow up in this office and that’s important when I have to report back to clients with a definitive answer.
Over the years that I’ve been doing business with Thierry Hugands office, I’ve been fortunate to have only 2 claims and one was substantial and involved a retail client who is open 7 days a week.
The claim could not have been handled better and more professionally.
All the vendors that needed to be paid, were, and in full without question, once the claims were investigated and billing submitted.
Can’t get any better than that !
Have to mention that I’ve always been a fan of State Farm also and started off with Pam Branch years ago and when she retired, she recommended Thierry an d I thank her for that !
This office has covered SF to Novato for me and they’re very familiar with that market, so I’ve never had to wait when I need to add in a new client.

Hands down the best agent! 5 yrs ago they made my renter’s policy easy and simple but now Lauren made my auto insurance absolutely pain free (plus she’s wonderfully personable and fun to just chat with). Top customer service and attention to detail from this team!

Thierry rocks! I have referred him my friends and clients knowing that they will be in good hands. He knows his stuff, really care for his customers and he is really good at finding the best product for your. He is a true professional and I would welcome the opportunity to work with him again.

I have one word for this guy, «dedication». My friend, Paul, came from China and resided in SF. He had no knowledge of insurance. Thierry gave him an hour of knowledge in insurance (auto, health, and life). This guy, Thierry, really cares about his clients. I Would highly recommend anyone looking for insurance in SF to go to Thierry’s State Farm.

I was impressed how easy Thierry’s office made buying isnurance. They took the time to explain coverages and make reccomendations. I would highly reccommend them! 5STARS!

Thierry is a real pro. Knows the insurance biz inside and out. Honest and helpful. Clearly let us know our coverage options and helped us make good choices. No pressure. Grateful to have an insurance provider I can trust and feel good about.

Take a pass on Thierry. He and his office were great when I first signed up, but the service changed after I was a customer. Rates increased with little to no explanation, and it was difficult to get a hold of anyone in the office.

I am so sad to say that Thierry and State Farm have been a huge disappointment to us. Our car was side swiped a month ago, while my husband was getting into the car. The driver’s door was badly damaged.
Everyone at State Farm has stated that clearly the other party was in the wrong, but they have done almost nothing to help us deal with the other insurance company. The other insurance company isn’t returning our calls. We expected that State Farm (and particularly Thierry) would advocate for us. I am afraid to report that they have not. Thierry (and his office) have barely engaged with us and went so far as to tell another insurance agent at Sate Farm that they have it covered for us when she tried to advocate for us. The only «help» Thierry and his team have given us is to tell us that we can take the other driver to small claims court.
Ok, we did not have collision insurance. It is an old car and not worth a huge amount to anyone else. But it was all we needed, and it was hugely reliable. Extra heartbreaking for us that we could have had full collision coverage with a tiny deductible at Geico or Progressive for the same amount we paid State Farm for liability only.
State Farm has proven to be useless and expensive. Thierry, while he may be a nice guy to deal with as he signs you up, is not an agent that will advocate for you.
We just bought a new car and we have taken our business elsewhere.

I reached out to Thierry very recently because I was interested in looking for a motorbike and needed insurance and a possible loan. Unfortunately the loan rates from SF were not ideal for me, however the quote for the insurance was excellent.
Thierry was constantly responsive, informative, and very easy to work with. Additionally he helped me get my insurance on Sat, while he was out of the office, which I thought was extremely helpful and very appreciated. All I can say is that if you need someone who will be professional, then Thierry is your man.

Parlez-​vous insurance? No? That’s okay, most people don’t. If it feels like your policy might as well be written in French, that’s fine because Thierry can explain it to you in a way that sounds more like you’re ordering dinner than comprehensive and collision coverage.
He can also look at all of your other policies (even the stuff they gave you at work that you haven’t thought about since you were pretending to pay attention during HR orientation) and help you turn snails and fattened goose liver into escargot and foie gras. Or at least he can improve on your current «pay the premium, pull the blanket over your head and wish for the best» plan. If you have time to watch an episode of Dancing with the Stars, you can make time for this. Go ahead and schedule that teeth cleaning appointment you’ve been putting off, too.
