Apparently a lot of Unilocalers listen to podcasts when they’re not writing reviews. I didn’t even know what these were until I received several messages from various parts of the country advising me I’d been quoted on one. I’m so tech-unsavvy that I had to ask one of these kind souls to send me a link( ) so I could find the program. Once he did, I tried to access it, but it kept buffering more than playing, so I never heard myself referenced. Eventually I’ll return to it when time and a lot more patience allow. Meanwhile, I’ll give them four stars for extending my fifteen minutes of fame by a moment or two. It’s nice being in the spotlight. .. that and a buck-fifty will get me a ride on MUNI.

Picture a more amiable version of the McLaughlin Group on a podcast for nerds. These guys roundup all the news and events of the week in the«tech space»(however they choose to define it) and then review it in a live podcast. This week they happened to feature a bit of chat about Unilocal.Dvorak brought the topic to the table and the panelists logged into Unilocal to find out what we’re all about. They first stumbled onto our reviews of the Golden Gate Bridge, where they quoted Gourmet Guru and then jumped onto mine. They seemed a little flustered by my vaguely homoerotic review(guys, we try not to take ourselves too seriously all the time here on Unilocal) but after much nervous giggling decided I had good taste, only to become disillusioned when they found out I gave the Burlingame Apple Store and Andronico’s 2 stars. They decided I wasn’t «the right guy». Huh? This is journalism? They looked at 4 out of 1100+ reviews to decide that? I’m outraged! Hehe. Having thus been reviewed, I feel I must review, eh? I’ll comment on them having listened to one podcast. I give them 1 star for depth of research but 5 stars for their broad range of topics and for bringing Unilocal to an additional audience, so it averages to 3 stars. Keep hustling, boys.
