Tommy Neeson Construction

Tommy and his crew did a fantastic job remodeling our 1911 San Francisco home. The house needed more work than was originally scoped (turns out the foundation was in much worse shape than we expected), and he managed to get the extra work done well and still get us to move in on time.
He has a number of subcontractors to do various kinds of work, and all but one of them were excellent. The one in question was an electrician who was capable enough, but couldn’t get the work done quickly enough, so Tommy sent in a «cleaner» (think Harvey Keitel in Pulp Fiction or Jean Reno in the Professional), a different electrician who got everything done quickly and easily.
They did a vast amount of work over the course of about 4 months:
* replaced our foundation completely and poured a new slab in the basement/​garage
* tore down the main and second floors of the house to the studs and rewired, re-​plumbed and insulated it
* installed bamboo floors
* recreated the cove ceilings we had throughout the house; they looked even better than the original
* built new support walls and put in new support beams downstairs
* referred us to a great painter whose team made our home pretty on the inside and out
* sent in a great plumber to redo the sewer/​update the gas service/​prep the kitchen for the remodel
* rebuilt the fence in the backyard
He is a good communicator, whether by email, phone or text. And he and his crew are very pleasant to work with, and even socialize with in some cases.
We would definitely work with him again, if and when we decide to expand our home. We’ve already recommended him once, and would gladly do so again.

Called and spoke with Tommy briefly on the phone explaining what I’m looking to do on my house and he didn’t sound interested at all. He told me to send him an email and he will get back to me to schedule an appointment for an estimate. In a span of two weeks, I emailed him twice and still have not heard from. At least the courtesy of a reply would have nice and professional. I wish I can give a zero star rating! This man shows no professionalism.

TNC team recently completed an excellent construction project for us. Start to finish, it was very easy to work with Tommy. He communicated frequently and checked in if there were any changes we needed to do to our project –so there were absolutely no surprises. Tommy is very professional, knows about the City codes/​permitting process.
We also loved his team — very knowledgeable and courteous. We’d work with TNC again and have recommended him to friends/​neighbors.

Tommy & his team are fantastic. He’s a great guy, very professional, extremely capable, and not stressed by what needs to be done or what he finds along the way. He also got our job done on time, on budget, with no surprises and at a far more competitive price than the other bids we received. Strongly recommend him!

THE BEST! Tommy is the nicest guy, knowledgeable, timely, EXCELLENT craftmanship… all this for a price that couldn’t be beat ! Tommy and his crew installed crown molding and chair molding in 3 rooms and a hallway in my victorian house. Tommy communicated well, was on time, on budget.
I am having my kitchen (last touched in the 1920s and bombed during WWII) remodeled later this year and I will DEFINITELY be looking for Tommy to do the work !

We hired Tommy to install a ceiling fan in the bathroom of our 100+ yr old Edwardian flat. Tommy and his crew completed the job (which required ceiling construction and electrical work) with precision. They were incredibly professional, very clean, and timely.
I would highly recommend Tommy.

Like most homes in San Francisco, our home is over a hundred years old (built circa 1911) with lots of character. «Character» is a funny word to describe a home, especially when it is used as a euphemism for «ship wreck» or «hobo shack» on MLS. But I digress.
You see, Tommy is a great contractor (and person) when it comes to our hobo sh– uh, home with character. He doesn’t give you a pessimistic view of what will pan out. He doesn’t give you a scowl as you mention that you want this placed here, and the wife wants that thing there. He gets it done with a smile and optimism. As he is knowledgable, he helped guide us towards materials and ideas about layout… and the small details. He also really works well with his (at times motley, but always professional) crew.
Our bathroom was in need of a remodel before the little one came. We had a non-​functioning chimney stack knocked down for extra room, a new double sink placed, sheet-​rock, tiling, new toilet, lighting, mirrors, bathroom door, shower door, new tub, and heated floors… all done in about 6 weeks (with time off during the holiday season). In order to save on diapers, he also managed to fit me in for my own painting– which my wife said was «adequate». Gee, thanks, hon.
The end product was awesome! It matches with the character of our old Victorian except more updated. We are so happy that we are going to ask Tommy to do our kitchen… but my wife doesn’t want me to paint anymore.

Tommy recently remodeled our original 1930’s bathroom, creating a full guest bath and private master in its place. We are extremely happy with the end result, and the management Tommy provide throughout the whole project. This was our first experience with any remodeling and we interviewed several contractors. Tommy gave us a competitive bid and worked to stay on budget. He was also very patient and helpful when we struggled to choose materials, and adjusted his schedule to accommodate us. Tommy and his crew were considerate and worked hard to keep our space clean. Something we really appreciated since we stayed in our home with our toddler during construction. We would definitely hire Tommy again.

My husband and I hired Tommy to remodel the deck in the back of our house. We have been very happy with the work Tommy and his crew have done! They are all very nice and respectful and the quality of work that they do is fabulous. Tommy’s attention to detail is wonderful. The workers cleaned the work area every day before they left, especially when they were working inside our house. Tommy wasn’t necessarily working at our house every day, but he would at least stop by most days and was very easy to get a hold of if I had a question or concern. He was very willing to work with me to make the project turn out as we wanted and his suggestions helped it turn out even better than I imagined!
I would definitely recommend Tommy to anyone looking for a contractor!

TNC Construction was referred to us by a high end developer who uses them. I’ve done three major home remodels over the years and this is the first time I felt like the contractor was a partner in this relationship. Tommy listened, worked with us to arrive at a budget we could both live with, and then proceeded to follow through with everything we asked of him. The entire process was completed within the time frame promised and with accurate detail.
Tommy and his crew were professional, always on time, cleaned up daily (as much as you can during a remodeling process), and were a pleasure to work with. When unexpected hurdles arose, Tommy worked with us to resolve the issues expediently and cost-​effectively. We can’t thank him enough for his efforts.

Tommy and his team did a great job for us. I contacted him at the last minute to do a variety of projects in our house. This was so great because he considers small jobs as well as big ones and he has experience with both. His team was professional and worked hard all day and finished in the amount of time he told me it would take.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tommy or to hire him again.

Tommy did a fantastic job in our home. His work site was always clean, the work we had him do, install a closet over our stairwell and do hardwood floors, remove a fireplace, etc. This was not a straightforward job yet Tommy’s team did a fantastic job of keeping the new construction in keeping with our house’s features and we love our new closet, room and Tommy even created a secret storage closet up above our crown molding which is perfect for extra storage.

We used TNC Construction for a job in our family home in San Francisco and couldn’t have been happier with the work during the construction… and the final product turned out very well.
We had several projects… remove a fireplace, install a closet, install shelves, fix a wall, etc. Many of these items were extremely dusty although we barely noticed this thanks to the containment unit they installed and the diligence of the workers to remove their shoes.
Tommy had a great crew working on our house and he checked in every morning and often every afternoon to make sure the project was progressing as expected and that the quality was high. On one occasion there was a small issue that came up due to a miscommunication and Tommy took care of it in a most professional manner.
I highly recommend TNC Construction. We are pleased with the final product and will definitely look to use them again in the future.
