My husband and I were lucky enough to have them photograph our wedding, and we were thoroughly impressed. U Me Us Studios is the whole package: great and highly talented photographers, excellent customer service, and definitely affordable. They were very receptive to our requests and suggestions during our engagement shoot, and helped us plan and execute a pre-​ceremony outdoor shoot on the wedding day. Evonne previously worked as a planner herself, and this helped her work seamlessly with our wedding day planner to make our special day truly amazing.
Darren and Evonne even worked with us during the hectic pre-​wedding planning process to help us decide the types of shots we wanted. They bring a wonderful combination of technical talent (each of them is a fantastic photographer in their own right), and a great creative process to provide an outstanding experience and top-​quality photos. Their skills with lighting, composition, and focus in both indoor and outdoor shooting locations were top-​notch. They were able to take one of our shooting locations, a staircase in Rincon Hill, and turn it into a truly artistic and beautiful setting WITHOUT using photoshop! Darren and Evonne are outgoing, enthusiastic, and were able to rein in our family and friends (this is no small feat!) for photos while also helping us make the most of our shooting locations to really bring out the magic of the day. We could not be happier that we chose Evonne and Darren as our wedding photographers! Evonne and Darren were such a pleasure to work with. They were very warm and welcoming when meeting with them for the first time at their studio. After talking over details and looking over their portfolios we were ecstatic to hire them as our Wedding Photographers. And having 2 photographers was definitely a bonus!
We met again with them for our Engagement session and had such a great time shooting with them and our daughter. This lovely couple was so kind enough to even speed up the process in getting our photos back to us so we don’t miss out on a great deal we found online for our Save The Dates. OMG, when we got back our photos we were SO IN LOVE! Everything about our photo shoot came out looking better than I have imagined. Even the Video Montage they put together for us of all their favorite images made me shed a tear… ok, maybe a lot of tears! LOL!
Evonne and Darren are just naturally warm-​hearted people. They understand how stressful wedding planning can be and was so nice to offer vendor recommendations or even any type of wedding advice if we needed any since Evonne used to be a wedding planner /​coordinator back in Hawaii. They were always so helpful and quick to respond to any of my questions or emails.
The day of the wedding this dynamic duo was just on point with everything. They were so natural at what they do they pretty much blended in during the wedding. Never in anyones way but definitely got all the shots they needed. Evonne definitely came to the rescue, assisting me with my veil, my train and even reminded me about my jewelry that I almost forgot to put on! That would’ve been a fail! LOL! Evonne and Darren are so organized and experienced it almost felt like they were our Wedding Coordinators telling us our next move. Thank goodness, because there was so much going on, I would’ve missed a few cues.
In the end, we received our wedding photos and can’t be any happier with how everything turned out. We took so many photos and they never missed a beat. It’s so great to look back to our special day with this talented couple’s beautiful work. By far THE BEST VENDOR we had worked with. Thank you Evonne and Darren for all your help during our wedding. Your patience, creativity, kindness and great talent did not go unnoticed. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

Hands down, best vendor we chose & best money spent
I cannot say enough good things about Evonne and Darren. They are wonderful people, so warm and friendly, like friends you want to hang out with all day.
Evonne is REALLY responsive, which I love and appreciated a thousand times more when I realized it would take four emails and a voicemail to get my venue to respond even once. Evonne usually gets back to you within the day, even if it’s to say, «we’re at an event, but I’ll respond in the next few days!» So so so so appreciated.
On top of that, they are SO darn good at what they do. Darren is a pro at posing you. At our engagement shoot, he kept reminding me to stand up straighter (my mom loved that about him) and they both knew to fix my hair or pose us in ways that were more flattering and hid any «fat» spots we were self-​conscious about. They made us feel so comfortable and made the shoot all about us, which left my fiancé-​at-​the-​time and me feeling more in love than ever and my fiancé kept raving about how much fun he had even though he doesn’t like taking photos.
On the day of, knowing I had top-​notch photographers who I could trust 110% and not have to worry about is worth more than what money can buy. It allowed me to enjoy the day, and although I didn’t give poor Darren and Evonne a chance to eat more than a couple bites of their dinner, they didn’t complain once. I love love LOVE them!
Go with Evonne and Darren, you won’t regret it. And if you or your SO are worried about spending the money, it’s WORTH EVERY PENNY. I’ve seen people go with cheaper photographers and become so disappointed with their photos. For a day that passes by in a blur and you barely remember anything, you’ll want beautiful photos that help you relive the happiness and magic of the day.

My wife and I are very happy to have chosen Darren and Evonne as our wedding photographers. Our engagement and wedding photos are amazing, and we’re grateful that we’ll always have them to remember the occasion.
From the beginning, Darren and Evonne were very patient and enthusiastic. For instance, we wanted to be able to include our two cats in our engagement photos, but our cats (as is typical for the species) aren’t particularly cooperative, and they don’t like meeting new people. I expected the cats to hide under the sofa during the photoshoot, but Darren and Evonne warmed them up, coaxed them out from under the sofa, and got them posing like models.
On the actual day of the wedding, Darren and Evonne were with us the entire time, and we were very comfortable having them with us to document the day. They helped keep us on schedule, but we didn’t feel rushed at all. We got all the shots that we wanted, and we were able to enjoy and experience the day without feeling like we were in a photoshoot.
The photos themselves came out beautifully, and we’ve received many compliments from our friends and family. Darren and Evonne are a very happy couple, and their attention to detail really shows in their photography. We could not be any happier, and we would recommend Darren and Evonne to all of our friends.

My wife and I got engaged in February 2014 and our wedding was in August 2014. That’s not much time to plan a wedding and it takes a lot of luck to pull it off. Having Darren and Evonne as our photographers was by far the best thing that happened to us.
From the moment we met them we felt really comfortable and knew that there was no need to talk with any other photographers. They’re both super cool and easy to work with. Prompt emails returns and always working around our schedules. We never felt left out of the dark on anything.
Their photo style is great. They make you feel relaxed during the photo shoots and none of the photos look staged. Darren and Evonne both have a great eye for capturing shots that we could never imagine, and they do an awesome job just capturing the moment. And some cool candids to capture what we missed with so many things on!
We really like that they work as a team and they don’t have a «hired hand» to help them out for the shoot. For us, that meant that they were always on the same page and have a consistent style/​approach towards the photos.
Whenever we look at our engagement and wedding photos, we cannot help but smile. Darren and Evonne captured the moment so perfectly for us. Best of all, just two really great people.

Darren and Evonne are hands down the best wedding photographers we could have ever asked for. Of course their photos speak for themselves, but what you can’t see from the photos are how amazing and great they are to be with in person. They are so attentive to every little detail, have an amazing eye for colors and photos that I could never imagine, and so much fun to work with.

Having been a second photographer on a few weddings before, I’ve known that the most important thing about your wedding photographers is that you get along with them, because it’s going to be a very long day. That being said, Darren & Evonne are a great couple to work with! They’ve got boundless energy and are very open to working with some of the craziest family requests.
From when we first met Evonne and Darren we always felt very comfortable and welcome around them. They’re quite happy and always bring a positive energy. While I’m more comfortable behind the lens, they made us feel very comfortable being in front of it and you can tell in the results.
On the wedding day they were very accommodating and kept up their high energy. And for the most part I hardly noticed that they were there unless we were doing portraits, though our photos prove they were definitely keeping busy! I really loved that they kept the focus on us absorbing and enjoying the day as much as possible and didn’t rush us through photos; though they did their best to keep us on schedule as well.
The photos themselves look beautiful! They had great ideas on portraits around the venue and they turned out wonderfully. The whole family has enjoyed looking at them!

We had a wonderful experience with Yvonne and Darren at U Me Us! We were coming in from out of town for a destination wedding over Thanksgiving and we had to trust online reviews and their photo gallery to make a decision. And boy are we glad we did!
We had a weekday wedding at the Palace of the Fine Arts with just a small party of 15. We started out at the Mark Hopkins, then boarded a rented trolley/​cable car, and ended up at the Palace for the ceremony. After the ceremony, we shot at the Palace, then boarded the trolley for several hours of city shots. Because of the coordination, we needed photographers that could work with us. Yvonne and Darren were perfect!
They arrived on time and shot us in the rooms getting ready. Then Darren hopped in a taxi with the men and headed to the Palace. Yvonne stayed behind and shot the girls, then rode the cable car with us to the Palace. The entire time, they were both engaging us, interacting, working with our kids, and overall brought a fun yet professional vibe to the whole day. After the ceremony, they were instrumental in getting the shots around the city that emulated that perfect San Francisco vibe. Our album turned out absolutely AMAZING! Many relatives and Facebook friends can’t stop raving about the perfection of their shots and artistry of the composition.
Most importantly, Yvonne and Darren not only provided the most beautiful documentation of the day, but by the end of they day they ended up feeling like another couple of friends, sharing in our day with our relatives. We were actually sad to say goodbye when the day ended!

Long overdue review!
We’ve worked with Evonne & Darren on 3 separate occasions. They did a family session with us as well as our engagement and wedding photos. Unfortunately, I’m just now getting around to giving them a review. They truly did an amazing job and we will forever be grateful. Having photographers that are passionate, talented and professional made our photos and wedding day that much more memorable.

Had to do an update for Evonne and Darren as I’ve worked with them twice more since my initial review! After doing our pregnancy announcement photos, they also did our maternity session (I was 30 weeks pregnant) and newborn session (our baby was 4 weeks).
For both sessions, the quality and artistry behind their photos has been so amazing! Our maternity photos were my favorite photos of my husband and me to date! Romantic, natural, comfortable, and happy. They captured moments beyond what a typical family or lifestyle photographer would get, I’m sure due to their wedding experience!
Hope to work with them again in the future!

I simply cannot just call Evonne and Darren photographers. They are my friends. Friends and a couple that works wonderfully well together.
A friend, and someone who is a part of the wedding industry, referred me to U Me Us Studios [for my 9÷7÷13 wedding] and I quickly made an appointment with them for a consultation [Dec 2012]. I have to say, and I tell this to Evonne all the time, I immediately knew that I had wanted both her and Darren to photograph our wedding. The consultation was very comfortable and it was almost like we were talking to friends. We looked at slideshows of their photos and they showed us different photo albums that can be made. We went over the price guide and although it is a bit on the high side [not outrageous] side, we knew we could not skimp on quality. i mean, we want to keep these photos forever, and we wanted people who had the experience. Evonne and Darren were it. What was supposed to be probably a 45 minute to 1 hour consultation turned into 2 hours! Quite honestly, if we didn’t have somewhere to go, we probably would have stayed longer and had lunch or something! They are that easy to get along with!
In the wedding package we had selected, an engagement shoot was included. We waited until the weather was warmer in the Bay Area to shoot and when we finally reunited, it was wonderful! We selected a few locations to go to and they all worked out perfectly. It was quite windy in SF that day and wearing a dress was not the business. Evonne and Darren shot the pictures as quick as they could, while still framing everything right. The pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL! We knew that if the engagement session was successful, our wedding day photos will be just as good, if not better.
Prior to the wedding, Evonne made sure to send me a list of items to set out for her so she can do detail photographs and we had a timeline going back and forth. Come the day of the wedding, they were all prepared and ready to go! They took over 1,200 photos for us and ours was the longest wedding they have ever photographed, AND the first traditionally Chinese wedding they have photographed.
When we met again for the wedding photo viewing party, my husband and I were speechless at all the beautiful photos that we captured. We were absolutely in love and couldn’t wait to share it with our family and friends.
We are now in the process of putting together our wedding album and cannot wait to see the results. I cannot thank Evonne and Darren for their amazing job, and we are so glad to have met them and become friends.
Note to engaged couples, families, etc. you won’t go wrong in picking the dynamic duo of U Me Us Studios. Brides, if you choose U Me Us, make a list of must have photos you want for them to capture and they will ensure that it will be done. I made the mistake of bypassing some of mine because I thought there were time constraints, which there weren’t, and you can’t redo it once the wedding is over. UNLESS you are financially capable to have yours and everyone’s hair and make up done again just for that one photo.

Darren & Evonne do an outstanding job and are so much more than photographers! They really got to know my husband and I as a couple so they could capture the best pictures for our special day! We had so much fun with them, from our engagement pictures to our wedding day! They were ALWAYS there to answer any questions we had, and we had a ton. They are so helpful and so wonderful! Evonne even gave up her birthday this year to shoot our wedding, they are such sweethearts! They really do everything they can to make sure your photos are exactly what you want. They went through how the day would go top to bottom, photo wise, and helped us weigh the pros and cons of doing a «first look.» They walked us through all of it, since they’re the pros they really helped provide some insight as to a realistic idea of how the day would progress and it was immensely helpful! Our photos are AMAZING and we were so impressed with them! They are so superior to the traditional «posed» photos you see when it comes to some weddings. Their photography is so editorial and every picture is a piece of art! We love them and can not WAIT to get to work with them again! Thank you SO much you guys for sharing our day with us!

Evonne & Darren were our wedding photographers for my Oahu wedding earlier this year. In the interests of full disclosure, I will have to say that Evonne is a dear friend of mine so there was no question that we would use them for our wedding. I knew that she and Darren would do good work, but they really exceeded our expectations.
Here’s why you should consider Evonne & Darren for your photography needs:
1. True professionalism
Evonne was my only wedding vendor that was 100% on top of things at every step of the process. Not only did she return all my emails in a timely manner, she made sure to check in with me to confirm dates and times. Always courteous, always prompt. A true professional. If you have high expectations for your vendors and you appreciate timely responses, you won’t find a better vendor to go with.
2. Excellent eye for great shots
When we arrived at the wedding locale, Evonne & Darren scouted out the best locations and angles for the shots. Wedding photos are not just posed photos of the bride & groom. Candid moments, artistic shots of rings and shoes, and shots in the right lighting are crucial to capturing the moment and providing for interesting photos afterwards. .
Ultimately, you don’t want wedding photos that look like your mom could have taken them. While their prices are high, you definitely get what you pay for. U Me US Studios is bar none, the best in the biz! We were so thrilled with the quality and expressions that Evonne and Darren captured in our engagement session, it was a no brainer to book them for our 2012 wedding (followed by an exclusive day after session). Our house is sweetly decorated with pictures from these three days and we continue to receive compliments on them from visitors. We are so happy with the pictures that we even have them profiled them on our Facebook accounts as well as on personalized stationery!
Evonne and Darren’s magic begins longs before they snap any pictures. Prior to a photo shoot, Evonne prepositioned us on exactly what to expect and gave us some great tricks to get more mileage out of our time together (like bringing multiple outfits to give the illusion of photo shoots at different venues). Darren does a ton a prep work to ensure that the best of equipment is ready to go. It’s amazing the thousands of dollars of equipment that they bring to a shoot, ready for any kind of sunlight, moonlight, etc. Evonne and Darren even carefully select their attire so that they can blend into a black tie event while working so so hard throughout what can be long days!
We never felt that we had hired solely photographers, but rather that we had partnered with a couple that truly understood how special our events were to us. They treated us (and our guests) with the best of care throughout the entire wedding process, anticipated our needs and gave us advice that shaped our wedding into a perfect event. Stress can be high during the planning stages and even on the wedding day itself. Evonne and Darren brought their A game throughout the process and shouldered so much of the burden for us to just enjoy. Evonne and Darren were the wedding photographers for my Maui wedding in 2011. Everything leading up to the big day was a breeze with these two as our photographers because they were always one step ahead of me, which is a big deal because I always plan things far in advance. U Me US Studios is AWESOME! They helped me to take my senior portraits and they are stunning! They are personable and really get to know their clients. Our photographs from our wedding were simply amazing! My husband is very artistic and had HIGH expectations when picking our photographers. We spent a lot of time researching and reviewing numerous photographers and were so happy to find Evonne and Darren. From their professionalism and communication leading up to our wedding day to the final product– they were exceptional! Our photographs truly were more than we could have asked for and truly we were so blessed to work with them.

We have known Evonne and Darren of U Me Us Studios for many years now. We have done a couple family portrait sessions with both of them and referred our extended family, too. Our first portrait session was in Maui where Evonne and Darren were based at that time. Since we hadn’t done a portrait session before, they gave us tips on how to dress for the photos, and made a point to know us well so that we’d be comfortable with them during the session. They were open to our ideas on location and provided some great suggestions, too. They made a dedicated effort to find locations that may have special meaning to us (e.g. favorite time of day, activities, etc.)
Evonne and Darren were very prepared beforehand and told us what to expect before the session. They scoped out the locations and lighting in advance. During the sessions, they were very organized yet relaxed which made all of us very comfortable. The results were amazing in that they captured our natural smiles and personalities. Both Evonne and Darren shot photos as the same time, so it was refreshing to see two different perspectives.
Our second photo session was in the SF Bay Area with my extended family. There were 9 of us, plus our dog. My parents and siblings had never had any professional portraits done before, and once again Evonne and Darren put them at ease. Since there were so many of us, we had numerous different poses with various family members. Through it all, Darren and Evonne gave guidance on poses that made us look very natural, comfortable and happy! We also took some very fun shots, too. We all had such a good time with Evonne and Darren, we invited them to lunch with us. They’re foodies, so they were happy to oblige :)
