My favorite, no frills, neighborhood breakfast spot! I’ve probably been here upwards of 40 times in the course of a year.
For sandwiches, I’ve had:
#2 «Egg McMuffin»
#13 «Sausage McMuffin»
Both are wholesome tasting versions of the McDonalds sandwiches lol. The bacon is crispy, and the bagels are perfectly toasted.
#20 Turkey or Roast Beef with garlic sauce
The garlic sauce is very concentrated, and not for the casual garlic eater. If you don’t like garlic, BYE GIRL, you can’t sit with us. Get it with all the fixins, and just pick out the stuff you don’t want. Don’t complicate it for the workers or the people behind you.
The donuts are great. Nothing really too «trendy» or trying too hard, besides the maple-​bacon donuts that were so five years ago. Cake donuts seemed a little dry, but sprinkles make the world go round. Old fashioned donuts have crispy edges, and were great in maple or chocolate glazed. Yeast donuts taste like your standard, everyday donut. Glazed, maple, and chocolate — yum! If you think you deserve an extra special treat, get a tiger tail. Everyone else seems to be obsessed with them. I’ll admit, I got one everyday for five days straight, a couple months ago.
The hot coffee is great. I’m a fan of mixing a couple different flavors to get a custom blend. I do Hazelnut, French Vanilla, and a bit of Decaf Colombian because I don’t want to have an anxiety attack after gulping down a large.
The best thing to drink on a warm day, or even on a cold one, is a thai iced tea! It’s super strongly brewed, but it always has the perfect amount of sweetness and cream added to it.

Great doughnuts and sandwiches. Service isn’t too warm and fuzzy but the food makes up for it!

I’m so glad I found this place! This is my go to spot for Saturday and Sunday mornings. There’s never a long line and the food is ready quickly. They have bagels, donuts, coffee, juice, etc — everything you need on a weekend.
I always go for the lox and cream cheese bagel, with an iced hazelnut latte. Definitely recommend it – pretty good prices too!
This place is casual and quick, so it’s convenience and prices is what makes it a great spot. I wouldn’t travel to visit but its definitely worth checking out if you’re local to the area.

Loved stumbling across this bagel/​donut shop in China town in SF! It’s definitely a good find and I’ll be going back next time I’m in the area. We got a few bagels with veggie cream cheese spread, a tiger tail donut, an old fashion donut, and a ham/​cheese bagel sandwich! The food was fresh and hot considering we came around brunch time! The coffee was good too with tons of flavors to pick from!!!

Where else am I suppose to go deep in the new Chinatown for the ubiquitous Americana-​representing sampler as famous as burgers, beer, and football.
I met a good friend here and over a course of an hour, purchased a small chocolate glazed sprinkles cake donut and one of their gigantic 12″ + tiger tails (really just a glorified cinnamon twist) and their claim to fame? 9 different canisters of Peerless coffee to choose from. In addition to my selection, they have a massive display of donuts such as the traditional glazed staples to the crumb toppings and bagels as well as sandwiches made to order. The also carry a good range of pressed juices and a small assortment of Asian jelly desserts off to the side in a cold display case.
The staff here are great, the clientele as diverse as Irving street can present, and enough tables and chairs to accommodate the early morning seniors to youngsters popping in for a snack before their walk home.
The two drawback was that they do not stay late so we had to take our catchup to the iTea place down the street by 6:00 PM and then this old man sitting outside
would smoke between playing his instrument so the disgusting cigarette smoke would come wafting in… negatives on this bustling suburban street.
Otherwise a great spot to relax and energize with a cup of coffee prior to heading back out into the throng of hurried masses.

Great breakfast bagel, lots of bagel options to choose from but the freshly fried eggs is what does it for me. Inexpensive and the service is fast and friendly. I usually grab a bagel en route to work so I don’t sit-​in too often but when I have it’s a nice environment, mostly old Chinese men having a good conversation about current world affairs (I like to tell myself).

Best donut shop ever! I love their glaze donuts, because its like me a toned down KK flavor with that nice doughy texture. It’s not like eating diabetes covered air. Their breakfast and deli sandwiches are really well put together, and I love their Thai iced tea. I didn’t realize it’s taken me a long time to post my praises. I’ve been a happy customer for 4 years!

I’ve been here a few times and overall this place isn’t bad, however its just ok. Must I say that all I’ve had here are the bagel sandwhiches, both times I got the lox bagel sandwhich.
The bagels themselves seem fairly good, however the bagel lox sandwich pics seem quite deceiving, the pic shows onions, capers, lox, and cream cheese, however they do add tomato and cucumber which I could probably do without, not a bad lox bagel sandwhich however not great.
I would probably not go out of my way to come here, however if your in the vicinity it’s worth pooping in, as for me I will definitely come back since its in the vicinity and for $ 7 bucks you get an ok bagel lox, I will most definitely keep looking for a great bagel lox spot in sf.

I have seen pictures of their bagel sandwiches on the outside window. I decided to have one today. I got the lox and cream cheese bagel. I am taking two stars off because the sandwiches are too expensive from this place. It was like $ 7.50 and I am probably not coming back to pay their prices.

Fresh fruit cups are the best here. Yogurt and granola to go. Coffee and donuts.

Long johns were kinda what I remember from growing up. Pretty standard chocolate glaze with custard.
However, the apple fritters are really good. Nice hard glazed outside with soft apply inside. Not greasy and not dry. The apple fritters here put Bob’s Donuts to shame.

They have a huge selection of breakfast choices from bagels to donuts to pastries. Ample seating and the servers are friendly. I am glad to see this neighborhood café become busier than before!

Yummy donuts. I got chocolate glaze for myself. They
were tasty. Glazed donuts are $ 1.00 each. I was surprised. I don’t buy donuts often so maybe this is the new price in SF.

The lady at the register today was extremely rude and aggressive first I asked her if they put any milk in the iced coffee and she screamed at me with a terrible look that they have the milk «out there» then I ordered number 10 and asked if they could warm up the croissant and she right away said no I kept telling her that it had been done before she kept yelling that she couldn’t until her coworker heard and came and said she could warm it up. Then they give me a tuna sandwich when I had asked for a chicken sandwich. I didn’t even know they had a tuna sandwich how could I order one? anyway when I opened the sandwich it was all burned !

Uncle Benny’s doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s a local favorite with a warm and bustling atmosphere, filled with folks chatting, enjoying their meals, working, or simply loitering. Service is great and as a result, I always come and leave here with a smile. If it weren’t for this fact, I’d probably give this place only 3 stars…
I sometimes like to venture down here for coffee. They have like 8 different kinds and although it is so far from being the best, I appreciate the variety and the price. The same can be said of their donuts. Not the best, but I appreciate the variety and the price. There’s also some decent breakfast bagel options if you veer on the more savory side in the mornings.

Good Ol’ Uncle Benny’s. I like the donuts here. They recently added some interesting looking filled ones. They look sort of like donut sandwiches – haven’t tried them yet. I’ve tried the bagels here as well. Yum, a great deal compared to Starbucks down the street. There’s a wide selection of coffee as well and they even have Thai Tea as an option! There’s also some parfaits in the cold case as well as some cream cheeses available for purchase. Haven’t tried the sandwiches they have available, but everything looks good. and affordable! :D

Great donut shop. I’ve been here many times and the donuts are always fresh. My go to donut of choice is simple, old fashion maple of plain. Cakey and not oily at all.
Coffee selection (peerless) is large and the service is quick.

While running errands on the busy Irving Street, I stumbled upon some prime real estate; parking right in front with ½ hour left on the meter (those of you who have been to Irving in the Sunset know what I’m talking about !)
Nearby was Uncle Benny’s, which serve donuts, bagels and many types of sandwiches. There’s also a large fridge case with a huge selection of drinks. Wanting my afternoon sugar fix, I got 2 donuts; maple bacon and a maple old fashioned. So this review is only for quality of donuts.
Both do not have any actual maple flavor. Both are too sweet, and the old fashioned does not seem fresh. Glazed old fashioned is what I always get no matter where I go, and Uncle Benny’s falls short. Theirs appeared smaller than other places (sorta shriveled up), it’s harder and very dry. The maple bacon was softer and better, but again, the maple was just pure sugar, and lacked any actual maple flavor. There’s only a slight bacon flavor from the sparcely sprinkled bacon bits, but mostly overpowered by the sweetness.
I can’t comment on their wide selection of coffees served in thermal urns, or any of their other food items, but I won’t be back for their donuts.
