Rudest (especially to girls ! … do we notice ?) They spit @ independent women .
food can be good, when without knorrswiss over-​salting. Otherwise, this place is salvidgeable … however, the phone service is shocking-​bad service. Wow bad.

Mediocre Indian food, have been to better Indian restaurants in SF like Gajalee (unfortunately closed now) and DOSA.
Although the ambience was good, but the food was just not good enough, service not upto the mark, not worth the money spent.

Very small but nice place. Me and my friend went for a lunch buffet. They didn’t have much varieties but let me tell you this — every single item they had was delicious. The flavors were good and food felt fresh.
There tandoori chicken is a must try and also goan chicken curry. There vegetables dishes were also very tasty.
Not an expensive place either.

Had the prawn xacuti, lamb rogan josh, naan and rice.
The prawns were cooked right, although the xacuti was not my thing (was recommended by our hotel manager), friend loved the rogan josh, the basmati was the winner for me.
Service was good, they forgot to charge me for my king fisher (nice light beer) and thanked me profusely for being honest (isn’t everybody?)
I’d go back to try the all you can eat lunch buffet, seems like a good price, and if you’re in the area, it’s a solid place.

Absolutely loved the lunch buffet. Every dish i tried (most of the hot dishes on offer) was delicious. The included fresh naan was great too (we had two orders :) If i had one tiny grievance, it’s that they were slow to refill dishes — i gave up on waiting for more fish curry, which i wanted (but certainly didn’t need) more of!

If you want some delicious, warm, flavorful comfort Indian food, come here!
Classics like butter chicken, chicken tikka masala are so very delicious. Their goan macaroni soup was a pleasant surprise that I ordered while sick once, and now can’t help but get now every time I order from here!
Also, the staff is always so pleasant, friendly, and quick

After a exhausting long bike ride over the bridge we were starving and wanted to eat quick and super close. This place was right next to our hotel. It was so delicious! Amazing tandoori chicken and the best chicken masala! The samosas were so good as well as perfectly delicious garlic naan. Service was excellent and food taste very fresh! I would definitely come back

This place is great. Good service and tasty food.
They also have free delivery with orders over $ 25 from Eat24. You almost exactly hit the minimum with two entrees, naan, and rice.
I’d recommend the Chicken Korma if you don’t want something spicy.

I ordered vegetable vindaloo. They really make it Goan style. This is one reason whenever I visit California I come eat this item. I am having hard time finding veg vindaloo in other places. Although garlic naan was little chewy and not soft. I will come back again.

There was nothing decent in the lunch buffet. The food felt stale and the drinks were subpar.

Food selection is great. Carpet needs to be replaced as I can smell the trapped dirt or dust from being old. Other than that the food is very good. Everything was good. The gulab jamon was fresh and yummy. price for the buffet isn’t bad.

BEWARE! I have eaten here twice. The bald waiter tried to tamper with the bill and added 2 extra dishes. Even after telling him to fix the bill he came back with another extra charge on the bill.
Also there chicken isn’t fresh. It was chewy and low quality. Avoid this place at all costs

Great food (I had the lamb xacuti, my husband had the lamb vindaloo and my friend had a chicken tikka). My husband’s vindaloo nearly blew my head off (the spice is off the charts even for me and I love spicy food). But it is crazy hot so be sure to ask about the level of spice in the food especially if you are not used to it. Very reasonably priced and something a little different given how touristy Lombard Street is.

If you are not from Goa and do not understand what spicy means over there, I’d recommend asking for mild. If you eat a lot of spicy Indian food, ask for medium.
Xacutis are reasonably authentic and the food is great, with side of Kingfisher.

Found this place on Unilocal the outside I was kind of iffy about it but when we went in it was decent looking and we were immediately greeted and seated. My dad asked how much was for my toddlers 1 and 2 he said free and my motto is «If it’s FREE that’s ME» Great customer services, great waiters, and great food

I live in the area and tend to dismiss anything on Lombard as serving crap tourists want and won’t have time to complain about. Viva Goa is a major exception.
We get delivery for dinners and frequent the lunch buffet a few times a month. My husband and I like to do family meetings here over the delicious spread of Indian dishes. I love that they serve fresh naan with each buffet order and love the price and quality.
The staff is warm and attentive. We especially like Simon who greets our family by name when we come in.
The décor could use a little updating but then the prices wouldn’t be as great. Not a bad compromise.

A friend introduced us to this place and from the first time we dined here, we were sold. As meat lovers, there’s plenty of options and we have never been disappointed with the food.
The Fish Masala fry is to die for, we also tried the different lamb curries — the lamb meat was cooked to perfection. Other good things on the menu — Chicken vindaloo, their goan dessert — Bebinca, and also their mango lassi and masala chai.
This is the closest to authentic Goan food that I’ve ever had, and I’m so glad it is right here in San Francisco!

Goa is a region of India that has great food influenced by the Portuguese during their colonization of Goa. Goa has no comparison anywhere on earth for the food, the music, the friendliest and most laid back people and some of the best beaches on earth.
We came for the lunch buffet, so I wont bother with the review except to say the buffet has at least 2 goan dishes, focus on these.
I suggest you come back for dinner and only order Goan seafood dishes as per your taste profile. you will definitely not regret it if you can eat a bit of spicy food.
You might go thinking this is any indian restaurant, but you will discover the cuisine of Goa and then life will never be the same again

I LOVE this place. It’s my go to Indian place. To eat in or take out.
Signature dish: paneer tikka masala. Onion naan. Garlic naan.
Done.

As far as Indian buffets go, Viva Goa is right up there for variety with a couple of unique dishes that are distinctly Goan. Plus at $ 8.99 on weekdays, it’s an absolute lunchtime steal.
Seafood is an integral part of Goan cuisine and at this buffet, you get some Goan fish curry to soak up that fluffy basmati rice. The curry is pretty light but I appreciate that it’s a dish not typically found in other Indian buffets. Vegetarians will also appreciate that this buffet has a wide spread of vegetarian dishes ranging from a mixed vegetable vindaloo to samosas to sag paneer and lots more. I especially love the Goan salad. It’s bright with a nice mix of pickled veggies and chickpeas — very refreshing counterpoint to the various curries. As with all other Indian buffets, expect the usual chicken tandoori and chicken tikka masala. All in all, a hearty and fulfilling meal with mild spices for those dreary SF afternoons.
It’s a little dark inside and the décor is a little dated but service is attentive especially when it comes to keeping your water glass full. Indian food isn’t what comes first to mind when you mention the Marina but Viva Goa is pretty legit and probably one of the best lunchtime values in the neighborhood.
