Wells Fargo Bank

This wells fargo location has totally lost it’s way. In my experience, the staff at this wells fargo spend more time asking you personal questions than they doing their job. I don’t want to tell you what I am doing with my money, I don’t care to talk about what I am doing on the weekend and so forth. All that I am trying to do are simple transactions that this place makes complicated on a regular basis. I am not sure if their managers put them up to this or what. But, I personally would prefer the staff to just give my money in a timely manner than ask a lot of personal questions that are none of their business or making personal comments all of the time. I am ready to switch my bank all together. I do not like going into this branch and avoid it as much as possible. It takes forever to get anything done and I seriously think they need to spend more time to teaching the staff how to get things done in a timely manner than making useless chitchat with their customers. I for one could do without it. Transactions take a long time here (much longer than they should). And, I think skipping the idle chitchat and personal questions would go a long way to making things better. It is none of your business where I work, what I am doing with my money or what I am doing with my day.

Decent amount of ATMs and the security guy is cool. Just making deposits and withdrawals as usual.
Lots of people working at this location as well.

There is street parking right in front but it can get crowded quickly.

Avoid this branch at all cost. Very bad customer service. I usually visit the branch further down Irving St in the Outer Sunset and the staff there is much more professional.

Wow this branch has THE WORST customer service. I went in to try and open up a new account and could not believe how much of a hassle it was. I was greeted when I first walked in by a guy named William who I would later learn was the store manager, this guy just straight up sounded like an idiot right off the bat and before I can even sit down he’s telling me how I should open multiple accounts and sits me down with one of the bankers, this guy sounds like he hasn’t even graduated elementary school and he’s telling me how to handle my finances? I don’t think so.
Before he leaves me with the banker, her name was Anna I think and she was really sweet, he asks me if I would like some water, so I said sure. The water never came, instead he flirted with 2 different attractive women that walked it, keep it in your pants buddy, you are supposed to be a manager. After discussing what I wanted to do with the banker, she for whatever reason goes to talk about it with this guy William who comes back saying I need multiple checking and savings accounts. Why the hell do I need multiple ones? He says Wells Fargo recommends everyone have backup accounts. Sounds like a sham to me, he probably just gets a bonus if people open up more accounts…
At this point I realized this whole ordeal is BS so I took my things and left. Walked into Chase that same day and they gave me the accounts I asked for and didn’t try to sell me «backup accounts» (which the banker confirmed was just a ploy so he could get a bigger bonus) and turns out they have a credit card with 5% cashback and I get $ 100 free for opening it! Go Chase! Maybe not all Wells Fargo branches are like this experience I had, but if they let managers like that run these stores then good luck staying in business.

This is not a review of a particular Wells Fargo bank but of their company policy. I just called the customer number and asked that a preauthorized debit not be honored since i had just found out that the business – Accessory Geeks, do not patronize them! – is fraudulent and has many bad Unilocal!reviews: They claim an order is backordered, give different account numbers with each email, ignore requests to cancel an order, and so on.
I called my bank and asked them not to honor this preauthorized, as they call it, debit as I had cancelled the order. It was for a $ 15 smart phone case, plus $ 6 for fast shipping. Well, after the customer service cheerily went on about how they could do that, she announced that it would cost me $ 31 to stop that payment! I could not believe what I was hearing. They charge more than the cost itself, in order not to give my money to a fraudulent business.
If you’ve ever wondered if banks are there to serve the customers, wonder no longer: THEY AREN’T. They exist to make money off their customers any way they can.
Not only that, they are effectively colluding with business to rip off the customer. Accessory Geeks is now free to charge me for shipping – already a waste of money – and for an item that I have repeatedly cancelled.
Thanks a lot, Wells Fargo. What a farce all your ads about serving your customers are.

Clean and convenient.
I find Wells Fargo to be friendly and honest in general. I’ve been with them for a decade and they have always had my best interest at heart.
They don’t do much of the absurd and tricky fees that make you feel like your bank is out to screw you.
This location lives up to the company’s standards. ATM’s that are always working, right in the center of the Inner Sunset.

This is the WORST BRANCH EVER! came in to cash a clean check for my husband and deposit it into our joint account as I’ve been doing EVERY MONTH for the last 6 months, but this time they refused it cuz they didn’t know it was a joint account, even though I mentioned it very clear at the first place. The assistant manager was being very impatient, not helping at all. All he said was: no, you can not, I can not, we can not, without asking for any info to verify the situation. To my disappointment, I had to call my husband who used to work as a bank manager so he can explain to them on the phone; and so they had to apologize hesitantly and deposit the check. Yet, they said they couldn’t cash it because my balance was less than $ 10. WTF? So all the time I got it cashed over there with my balance below $ 10 was against the rule book? The person who cashed it for me should be fired then. I ended up not having my money available right away… Overall, VERY UNORGANIZED AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I’m definitely switching to BOA. NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN!

I’ve had nothing but great service at this branch. Greeters and tellers are very helpful and friendly.

How weird is it reviewing a bank? Weird. But I’m writing this because on two separate occasions, the ATMs here have swallowed our cards.
The ATMs are nice, make no mistake: clean, safe, technologically advanced. However, in Wells Fargo’s eagerness to modernize, they’ve installed these light-​up plastic displays around the credit card slots that are not only functionless, but actually AWFUL. When you’re done, the ATM typically returns your card to you — but lately, cards have been catching on the plastic display on their way out. I watched as my card was repeatedly thrust against the display (unable to help pry it out) and then eaten up by the ATM.
The worst part? To retrieve a card, one must go back to the branch within 24 hours or else order a new one. First of all, who has time for that?! I’ve got a 9 – 5 job, thank you very much. Secondly, no. ATMs are supposed to make life easier, not harder. I’ll take a janky machine that works over a new-​fangled one that sucks any day of the week.

Wells Fargo had screwed up more than they have helped me out. Customer service at this branch is the worst I have ever experienced at a bank!

I am always impressed with the teller service at Wells Fargo.
All the tellers are extremely cordial, friendly and helpful. They constantly ask how they can help me and address me very professionally by saying «Ms (insert last name).» Sometimes, the people in front of me take awhile with the teller but the teller are prompt and considerate.
They even told me about the free credit score report which I did and I had a very informative session with one of the lady about it. She was very helpful.
Overall, I had great customer service here. I will definitely come back.
Side note:
I am not the biggest fan of Wells Fargo Banking/​Checkings because I always feel like there’s hidden charges, I’ve been through a lot of those but in terms of customer service, they do what they can so I appreciate that. Just always remember to ask the right questions and know what you’re getting yourself into whenever you open a checking/​saving/​credit card (ask about those fees and restrictions, etc!).

A good number of ATMs, and great costumer service. To the point, short and sweet. Tellers here are very helpful and friendly. Makes the inside visit just as pleasant as my outside (ATM) visit!

Wells Fargo tried to get commission off my lost debit card and didn’t think I knew about the way financial institutions run businesses. Tried to talk me into things I clearly didn’t want to do and didn’t do the things I had requested.
Corporate also sucks!

do not ever get an auto loan with wells fargo! david cruz telephone number 480−337−2900 extension 24 328, is the biggest jerk off in the world! i got one month behind on my auto loan (after paying on time for 3 years) and they won’t stop intimidating me! when i told him i couldn’t make my payment until the first of the month, he said he was noting in my file that i «am refusing to cooperate» ! i told him i was trying to cooperate, but that date didn’t work for me! he said «i am noting your file that you are refusing to give a check for $ 1200!» i kept telling him i needed to work something out, but all he kept saying is that he was noting that i am ‘refusing to cooperate” !!! he then told me to expect my car to get repossessed!!! this is why occupy sf is demonstrating against them! do not ever get an auto loan with wells fargo! you may end up getting a jerk like david cruz!!! his number is (480) 377‑2900, ext. 24 328… stephanie at extension 24 330 is also a witch!!! i spoke with her first and when i told her i couldn’t make the payment right now, she transferred me over to jerk off david cruz!!! i didn’t even want to give them one star!!!

One time i went here one of the employees didn’t let me withdraw $ 5 from my account. Also I didn’t have my Debit card with me, so i gave them my school ID. She said that she could give me $ 5 because my school ID isn’t official. Okay, i went to to the here before and i showed my ID and they let me withdraw $ 20, also in the Arguello, Richmond, Downtown Wells Fargo’s let me. Why you?
Also today, i was loitering or just standing by the door and one of the employees wanted to rush me out. Not even near 6pm. Before i was standing, i made deposit also. I’m not loitering for no reason, I am a Wells Fargo customer. Gosh.

I have been a Wells Fargo customer for almost 17 years, which is most of my life since I am 26. I have finally just about had it with these guys, however, and am on the verge of leaving them to open a Chase, Citibank, or Boa account. The good thing about Wells Fargo is their online system is nice, their ATMS are modern, and the branches/​atms are conveniently located. The bad — - well, lets list them.
1.) My ATM limit is only $ 300
2.) The tellers at my branch… my god, I cannot stand them. They are so nosy and ask inappropriate questions. One time I took a withdrawal out and asked the teller to calculate 12 * 19 for me quickly and make that my withdrawal. «Is the 12 for months of the year?», «Whatcha doing with it?», «Oh, computer parts? What kind? Why do you need so many? You need one for each month?», «How come your paying cash, and not using a credit card?»… said the short asian male teller, in his 20 somethings. DUDE— STFU!!! I did not come here to be cross examined by you, I came here to get $$, all I need for you to do is a smile and a have a nice day. No, it wasn’t for computer parts, it was for something different but im not in the mood to explain the details of my business to you when I’m in a rush. It’s not your business!
Sadly, this has become common place in this Wells Fargo branch. It’s very unprofessional for bank tellers to ask personal questions to their customers. They frequently make comments on my bank balance, my withdrawals, my deposits… When it comes to personal finances, they should be taught to stick more to the «I hope you are having a great day today sir, thank you for using Wells Fargo» and less of the «Whoa! $ 600 Withdrawal? Going shopping?».
3.) Sting Operations — I have a College checking account. One time, I was asked the seemingly harmless question «So are you a student or have you graduated?». I stupidly told them I graduated, only to be ambushed & told they would be canceling my checking account and forcing me to open a new account. I was very busy and in a rush, and told them I couldn’t deal with this right now. They completely mangled my account— I have tons of direct deposits and auto withdrawals setup with my account # and they forced me to open a new account. This was a huge inconvenience. I later discovered they could have just switched my account to a regular checking, but the teller forced me to open a NEW account so she could get a commission on it!
You know something is wrong with the system when employees have the incentive to ambush customers with trick questions like that, and make them take an inconvenient route for a personal financial incentive.
4.) 0.2% interest on a savings account? No thank you…
Anyway, I won’t be a Wells customer for long. I’ve had it with them.

I came in to deposit a check. I always have extremely good experiences at banks, so I wasn’t really expecting anything out of the ordinary.
MY GOD. So, it’s normal that a teller doesn’t shake your hand or ask for your name, or even make conversation with you. Oh my god. This one teller I went to, a Filipino boy I believe, was soooooooooo friendly! He introduced himself, and asked for me and my boyfriends names. My check was of a measly small amount. I mean if I were depositing a huge amount, I’d expect such awesome hospitality. Anyways, it was a smooth process (as it should be) and we stuck around to talk to him for a little while more before heading off to grab brunch. MAN. I wish I remembered his name. I’m terrible with names.
Anyhoo. This is an awesome WF & the employees are the best conversationalists that I’ve encountered in a while.

One of the friendliest branches around town. Everyone greets you with a smile and you’d be surprised how good the conversations can be. All they need is a bar and I’m down to spend a few afternoons… uh I mean happy hours lounging around.

Wells Fargo is a pretty sucky bank in general. I’ve stopped actively banking with them after some bad credit card experiences.
Having said that, this _​branch_​has got to have the awesomest staff and customer service of any retail bank I’ve ever been to. It’s just a shame that they all have to be working for Wells Fargo.

I’m not a WellsFargo customer. I come here to cash UCSF checks. The other day I did. I was greeted by this sweet Chinese lady named Lilli Li. She asked me for two forms of ID to cash the check. I supplied her with my DL and my Milberry gym card. She asked if I am banking with them? I said, No. She said, «you know you can start a free account with us since you are a UCSF employee?». I thought to myself, «dang, do I have time to get hustled into another ploy? I’m just here on my lunch break. I need some food.»
My mind’s telling me NOOOOO… But my body… my body’s telling me YESSS…
I don’t see nothing wrong… with getting free checking. So my mouth utterred the words, «ehhh sure, why not?»
Lilli proceeded on talking smack about WAMU to further convince me that I was making the right choice. Did y’all know that if you keep a balance of at least $ 2500 in your checking account, that amount can accumulate interest as well? Very cool, but very impossible for moi.
Next thing you know, I was signing papers, choosing my password… damn, Lilli is a slick hustler. Mad props to the woman behind the desk. Now I can’t wait for my check book… I chose the flowers design.
