Wells Fargo Bank

Love this branch! Very welcoming & great customer service. I come here every weekly & never have any problems.

First things first the Female Assistant manager is great at customer service and hope her all the best in her future career. Plus the guy handling 401 K’s is very intelligent and gives great financial advice.
As for the rest:
It has been six years now with unanswered letters to my account problem.
The gentleman swindeled me in getting a 10K business loan at 12% interest which I never used, but did get $ 150 annual fee, I went to the branch and told me that it was nonsense and I should apply for a credit card that has no annual fee. He told me he would take care of the businesss loan, he never did this and then the manager told me that he is no longer with the company and that I needed to pay the annual fee otherwise he could not close my account, but he would ask someone at headquarters to look into this and get back to me. I tried a dozen time for an answer and now I owe $ 600 in annual fees as nobody wants to close this account.
I am moving all my stocks, 401K, roth IRA, and my business cards to a different bank as they call me to get more loans but when I want to talk about this issue they all seem to go to lunch or tell me to go somwhere else.
As of now I have already convinced 4 people to change banks, plus I will be informing the Better Business Bureau about this practice. Plus I am applying for a permit to demonstrate about the bad practices wells fargo condones. I can not believe that the US Government bailed you guys out and you still manipulate the average person in hidden Annual Fees!!!
This is a terrible shame as I even played soccer for Wells Fargo and now I will never go to any event that is associated with Wells Fargo.
Wachovia was such a great company and I am really going to miss my well trading account as those guys are super had handlling solutions!

Dear Mr Levy,
Wells Fargo has been my bank for over a decade, I do all my online trading and my business & personal banking with your bank. I have always been extreme satisfied with your excellent customer service until recently.
It all happened 5 years ago when a young banker in Foster City convinced me to apply for a credit card as he stated that my Business Loan was useless.
As I thought the young man in Foster City closed my loan, and I have never even touched the loan or used the loan I did not know that this person did not close the loan and was billed $ 150 for having this loan open.
I tried to close this loan and the bank in Foster City told me that only the original Branch in SF can close this loan as I needed to pay $ 150 on this first.
I have been trying to close this loan for several years and now the annual fees are $ 600.
I have contacted the branch over a dozen times and I it is the same story. Everytime I call or visit., they are not present or he just stopped out for lunch and when I have waited I get a business card and they tell me that they will look into it for me but when I follow up, I get the same message again. This has not just happened to the Noe Valley branch but numerous branches including the one I do my banking.
So in December in 2014 when I wanted to roll over my 401K of 50K into a wellsfargo account as I love the online part of your bank, I received instant contact with the right person within 24 hours to set up an appointment. This made me think that your bank just works for the commission and does not want to deal with a simple fee waiver.
Every employee at your bank with the exception of Jamie Harris on 464 California street has given me the run around and told me that I had to visit Noe Valley, Foster City, and back to HQ. It has been 5 years and all I want to close this ridiculous loan with 12% interest that I have never used and never will but it was «sold» to me. The loan in itself is useless as it is only for 12K and if I start a new business again I would need at least 150K.
In conclusion Mr. Stumpf, I know that you believe in your visions and values of the company and that you would not condone your employees behavior of pushing products that customers do not need. I hope you can resolve this issue so I can become a life long customer and develop my relationship with your bank even further.

I had a great experience with Michael Der. This is my fourth property purchase and he is the absolute best mortgage broker that I’ve ever worked with. From start to finish it took only 26 days to close on a home loan. Mike was always available, willing to push the process along internally and actually seemed to genuinely care about helping to get things done for us. He also regularly worked and responded to emails after hours for us. I highly recommend him if you are seeking a new mortgage.

Just opened a teen checking account here and had a wonderful experience. The personal banker worked directly with my 12-​year-​old to open the account and explained how it would work. Great experience!

Just got everything I needed from the bank. I like people what work there. Especially Sean Torres, he is the best personal banker ever. Such people make your life easier.

I have been coming to this Wells Fargo branch since 2005. I usually just want to go in to make a deposit or get cash and do not have time to talk with anyone. Needless to say, the staff are so friendly that after awhile, you cannot help but want to start up a conversation with them.
The tellers are efficient and move the line along quickly. Whenever I need assistance with my accounts, there is usually someone who can help without a long wait. I am really surprised by some of the negative comments as that has not been my experience here. If you are looking for a local bank and banker, you might want to drive across town and ask for the manager, Luke, he will take care of you!

Wells Fargo 24^th street is the happiest bank I have ever banked with. Not a superficial, Hi welcome to Wells Fargo, but a feeling that the people there really care about you and helping you. Luke, the branch manager, has gone way out of his way to help me with several important issues, and is never too busy to help you out. The tellers are friendly and efficient, but are also ready with a smile and a laugh. The bankers are helpful, but you don’t feel like they are chasing your last buck. I never expected to write a positive review about a bank, but I’ve had problems with Chase and B of A which can really put you off banks altogether. I hope they continue to keep up the good work.

Incompetent. See 3 examples below:
1) We tried to do our re-​fi with them but they were so disorganized that they couldn’t get it together to give us an offer. And this is with our own individual banker assigned to us. We went with an independent mortgage broker who knocked it out of the park.
2) Because my wife has her accounts with WF, we had to do our HELOC with them. Again, bumbling fools. They canceled our sign date several times because they couldn’t find the paperwork we had sent to them repeatedly. If we had any other choice we would have gone anywhere else.
3) Fees. We have had to call WF several times for inappropriate fees applied to our accounts. Once it was «solved» by a banker recommending we open a dummy account to would allow our regular account to not be assessed fees. Sound sketchy? Well, yes, because it is. After the fees were inappropriately assessed again we called the manager who was alarmed by what had taken place the previous time.
Lesson: Pick another bank.

We just moved to San Francisco and the Noe Valley neighborhood and we couldn’t be happier with our local Wells Fargo branch. Every single employee we’ve encountered has been extremely helpful and goes out of their way to greet my toddler son with balloons, candy, coloring books, etc. Kid friendly and efficient! Thanks, Luke, Kevin, Wala, and all of the other employees my husband I have worked with!

We used the ATM outside this bank and it was very convenient /​quick. Very nice location.

It’s sad when a one-​star is required.
I’m in-​between banks right now and have the pleasure of, when I receive a check, going to cash it at the bank it was issued from.
This is the only branch that grilled me with 2 different tellers and a manager and then charged me for my own money when I cashed a check.
No other bank I’ve been to charged me for my own money.

Rating is for this BRANCH and for RYAN the «branch manager», not the entire bank.
What a tool. «Ryan» the branch manager doesn’t seem to understand the meaning of overdraft protection. If I have an overdraft account with plenty of money in it that is supposed to cover any checks I write, why would they tell someone trying to deposit the check «This check will be returned, there are not sufficient funds?»
Their procedure is screwed up (I can actually understand that.). The problem with this guy is HE DOESN’T CARE and doesn’t want to try and fix or understand the system. He seemed to wear it as a badge of honor that he couldn’t do anything for me.

I don’t know why this branch has 2 different pages but I will post the same review that I wrote for their other one…
This branch is terrible with a capital «T». It’s incompetence goes so far as to effect my impression on Wells Fargo as a corporation. How could a branch fail so miserably at such basic tasks?
First, they erred on setting up my wife’s business accounts despite providing them with the appropriate paperwork. After being told of their mistake, they told us the DBA paperwork had to be hand-​delivered. THEN, after taking the time out to drop by, they said faxing it would have been acceptable.
THEN THEY FAILED TO CORRECT THE ERROR even though we explicitly told them about it! So, after telling them a SECOND TIME to correct the error, they finally straightened it out BUT they failed to close the redundant accounts and did not reverse the overdraft charges, which they said they would do.
I will try the West Portal branch but if I run into similar problems I might just have to take my money elsewhere.

The manager of this branch Nancy Kassis is SUPER nice and helpful — her and her staff are everything customer service is supposed to be.
So why 3 stars? Well because Wells Fargo as a bank sucks. I opened a Wells Fargo Complete Advantage Package, and later when looking at the terms online I notice that there’s a $ 15 monthly service fee on the checking account and a $ 10 monthly service fee on the savings account. You can avoid them if you jump through some hoops — which are not feasible for me, so I’ll take my business elsewhere. Like to a bank with Rewards Checking so I can earn 4.0% interest instead of 0.05%.

I’ve had consistently good experiences with Wells Fargo, and the Noe Valley branch was no exception. The customer service was good and the online banking is excellent. We really like this branch.

Well all my animosity towards wells fargo is my own fault because I write checks and spend money without actually having it. When that happens I start freaking out and usually go to this wells fargo to take care of everything. Everyone here is really nice and is willing to help and do whatever they can with any overdraft fees I have which is great for a struggling college student like myself!

No waiting in lines here. Wells Fargo is the king of customer service. The tellers are kind and helpful. A little bit of Noe Valley charm resides here.
