Wendy’s Tailor Alteration

Wendy is great! She’s inexpensive, very thorough with her mending, and irons a mean crease. She’s not terribly chatty or warm, but hell she mends and irons clothes all day…
I recommend!

A little nook of an tailor shop and cleaner, at inconsistent but usually low prices. Shirt washing is $ 2 but shirt dry cleaning is only $ 2.75 (and a whole suit for $ 4.75).
For alterations the friendly owner makes up a price on the spot, probably about ¼ to ¹⁄₃ of what you expected. A small gash in your pants? Five dollars. Suit pants fell apart at the seam? Eight dollars. Communication is difficult at times, you point and nod and hope she doesn’t add a third arm on your shirt.
Quality of both cleaning and alteration work is so-​so. Once, a whole load of shirts came back lightly starched when I didn’t ask for it. I mean, who starches shirts anymore? I wouldn’t take a priceless suit or miracle cleaning need here but it’s just fine for everyday wear and dress shirts. A good affordable find for the unfancy working man or woman.
