They soundproofed an area of my house with beautiful hardwood floors. Great job guys! Problem now is that it is SO pretty, that I want my whole house like that, lol!!!

I used WCSS about two years ago for a soundproofing job in a duplex. I was so happy with their work that I hired them again for another rental, for both soundproofing and a kitchen/​bath remodel. I was impressed by Elad’s willingness to work with my budget and to find creative solutions to the issues that inevitably surface in old buildings. There were a few problems, as there always are during construction work, and Elad addressed all of them to my satisfaction. The work was completed in budget and on time. I would certainly use them again and recommend them for both soundproofing and remodel work.

Updating my review from a 1 star to a 3 star.
This business is small and very busy. It took about a month to get a estimate after missed deadlines and aggressive follow ups from email that went unanswered.
Even though the process to get an estimate was unprofessional, I’m improving my rating b/​c at the end Elad the business owner took time to personally reach out, accepted responsibility and made things right — which is highly respectable in my book.
I haven’t determined if I will use them to install sound proof windows but will update my review if I do.

Several months ago I decided to build an addition to my house in the garage. I wanted to minimize the sound transference between the top and bottom floors. So I did a lot of research online, and decided to go with a combination of safe ‘n’ sound, resilient channels, MLV, quiet rock, electrical insulation and pipe insulation. While doing my research I had multiple discussions with Elad, the owner, and it really helped me to decide on the right configuration for my setting. I ended buying most of the materials from them. Their prices are comparable to the best online prices. I think Elad is a great guy, and he is very knowledgeable and patient. I also didn’t have any problems with returning spare materials. I really enjoyed doing business with Elad, and I highly recommend this company.

I’m currently in process of figuring out a solution to the noise between the adjacent condo and mine. I’ve had several conversations with Elad, and have been doing a lot of research on the issue. I’m an audio engineer and I am familiar with recording studio construction. That said, I find Elad to be extremely knowledgeable and patient. Even though I’m in the Los Angeles area, He and I are working through ideas via email and video and pictures. He’s even going to come by on his next trip to LA (They’re starting a Los Angeles office). Their web site is a wealth of information as well. Elad gives me the confidence that I’ll have a solution to what is a very stressful situation in my home.

Today I left this store feeling so incredibly filthy that a business would try to profit disgustingly unethical on a client. I wanted to come home and wash the filth and nasty feeling away.
First of all, the salesman who initially sold and helped me through this soundproofing was great although I feel set up on the return policy.
If I had known they were so unethical I would have used his advice and bought the products cheaper on the NET like I could have done. But then I work sales and try to lead a respectable life unlike how I was treated today in this store.
Again, it all makes you feel just so uneasy people can act and be so pathetically miserly.
Let me explain…
It turns out buried in their receipt after several discussions in person on returns and even calling the store to buy more than enough product there is a short time on their promise of a 20% high return restocking fee.
Worse the manner in which it was handled was downright trying to take advantage of a good client… well I let you decide just how deplorable this person acted. It turns out surprise, no one will tell you when they talk about easy returns that there is a 60 day clause of return (yes of course it is in the small writing on the receipt).
Construction jobs always run late, months behind and it is rare to be able to hit a decent time frame with permits and San Francisco building.
And it is obvious the person in charge (not the salesman who missed telling me this return policy for whatever reasons) could care the least about repeat business or has a moral compass other than direct profit of money.
I bet his employees don’t even get a crushed lump of coal in their envelop bonus for a Christmas LOL.
I went to return the unused portion items purchased there today after a difficult extended construction job. Items were in the box, new, taped shut not used perfect I had the receipt but of course didn’t notice that small print :) It hurt but I was ready to pay a high 20% restocking fee. Hey these things happen in construction but you just don’t expect what occurred.
Again, the thought someone would try to abuse and take advantage of a customer so completely is just more than disgusting since I myself work retail.
When I went to return you could tell they had been through this before since I was passed from person to person. I was then pointed out the small writing clause. It also seemed like they were well prepared and well rehearsed to screw the customer and handle this issue. You don’t get that good without practice and I am so glad I didn’t fall for it and loose money.
I felt like a profit SET UP was being played out… I was told «Home Depot doesn’t even return their products after… blah blah blah which is untrue. They will even do an in-​store credit without a receipt after any length of time on their products. Why they know all construction jobs and time frames always run crazy. BTW, Home Depot is making an extremely comparable product and you can fine and buy everything this store sells more affordable on the net. Again, don’t buy thinking service and return will be better than the net.
Then after letting them know how unhappy I was and I would definitely post a review EVERYWHERE on the NET to get this word out other than not telling a client and putting it in the smallest print…
I was offered on $ 1,147.50 worth of their sold product $ 547.50. Can you believe it? Of course before I was offered this number I was asked if I had any future use for the product?
There are better people and more professional minded business stores to give your money to and work with.
Do yourself a favor and choose a place that values customers and service rather than trying to take advantage of them.
I would rather donate these items to Habitat for Humanity or sell it cheap on Ebay taking the business away from them than let some greedy unethical person not only profit on the initial sale handsomely but try to cheat a returning customer out of a fair return to then only profit third time selling it to the next poor unsuspecting customer who is told go ahead, buy as much as you need so you don’t have to make trips or run out… but mind you, I am not going to point out or mention this clause until you try to return items and I can really screw you.
Like I said, doesn’t it all just want you to try to scrub the disgusting filth off you from even walking into such a store?
Buy the products cheaper on the NET and read the main source website for Green Glue you will be so much happier long run. Good news since their prices are so high I am already getting offers on eBay!

I recently bought a condo in Palo Alto, and my family had concerns about the noise from the unit above us. After interviewing and getting several bids, I selected West Coast Sound Solutions given the confidence they gave me that they could handle all aspects of the job vs. others who only handled parts of the project (and I didn’t want to be a general contractor dealing with a sheetrock firm, painter, electrician, cabinetry maker, etc.
These guys capably handled the entire project from start to finish. They patiently answered all my questions, went above and beyond by fixing other problems outside the original scope, and were on time and left the place clean and quiet.
Everyone was just terrific: Elad, Greg, and Daniel. They were always available by phone or text and installed the best materials to provide the quietest environment.
I wouldn’t hesitate for one second to hire these guys if you have a noise problem of any sort. They are professional experts who are friendly, responsive and great to work with.

I was not so sure at first if sound proofing my restaurant would be the answer, but as it turned out, it was the best decisions I could make. West Cost Sound Solution has great customer care and satisfaction. They really go out of there way to make sure you are happy with the design and the details of the work. The owner came out to the restaurant himself every night until the job was finished which was very impressive. The results were unbelievable. Even my customers were impressed and commented about the difference; and that they could now actually hold a conversation.

Hired these guys to sound proof a rental unit from the sounds from the kitchen in the unit below. Their work was great. Showed up when they said. Didn’t use all the materials and credited me for the unused. I could not recommend more highly.

We used West Coast Sound in a small home theater remodel. They designed and installed all of the soundproofing and acoustic treatment. The finished theater sounds fantastic — better than most commercial theaters — and looks great, as well.
There was absolutely no up-​sell; in fact, Elad talked us out of installing some acoustic treatment in areas where he didn’t think it would be necessary, which saved us some money.
My only complaints are that it is sometimes tough to get in touch with them, and that the installer was late on a few occasions, but if you’ve done any serious home construction, you know that these things are not uncommon.
I plan to use West Coast Sound again in the future and can easily recommend them.

These guys are just great! Very responsive, extremely professional, and an all around accommodating staff.
We were converting one of our conference rooms into a sound studio and the finished space is amazing. NO MORE ECHOING! I would suggest them to anyone!

We own an older duplex which had no soundproofing between the upper and lower units. The sound of voices, footsteps and everyday noise from the upper unit was painfully loud to the tenants below. WCSS did an excellent job from the initial estimate to the final inspection. The contractor was a pleasure to work with. I was very impressed by his professionalism when dealing with a difficult neighbor. The noise issue has been much improved and we will be using WCSS to do some additional soundproofing in the future.

I have a condominium in south San Francisco and he has constantly kept me up with his noise. West coast sound solutions provided me with a solution. On my ceiling they used sound insulation clips and double sheet rack with green glue and acoustical caulk. They did they job in a timely fashion and the guys spent a lot of time explaining exactly what to expect and they delivered.. I recommend them.

We live in a bottom unit apartment in San Francisco and our master bedroom is right under our neighbors kitchen and bathroom. The building is very old and had zero sound insulation. We found West Coast Sound solutions had a physical location in the city and went in to see what they had to say. It was important for me to meet someone in person to be able to discuss the situation and get some information. We met Elad there and he has a demo room that shows the different sound insulation options and how they look when they are installed. We had done a lot of on-​line research before hand and it was reassuring that they had the same materials and methods displayed in the demo room.
We had Elad come to our place to take measurements and give us his feedback on what he would recommend soundproofing and how we should do it. We ended up deciding on soundproofing the ceiling and one of the walls in the master bedroom. There was a consultation fee but we knew we could apply it to any soundproofing materials and/​or labor if we decided to go with them for either.
When I decided to try and do the work myself and only buy the materials from Elad, he was very nice about it and supportive and gave me the previously quoted prices for all the materials and was very very flexible in allowing me to return any unused materials for a full refund even months after the job was over.
In the end I realized I didn’t have enough down time to complete the work myself within the time frame I wanted so i hired Elad and his contractor to complete the job for me.
The 4 out of 5 is only because the original quote for the labor went up after I met with the contractor because it was determined that there was more work involved than Elad had originally thought and in general the sound proofing project as a whole was expensive.
However, I have to say that the quality was very very good and Elad, the contractor and the workers I dealt with were all amazingly accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with everything. I am certainly glad I didn’t attempt to do the work myself as it would have taken me forever and would not have been as professional as there are a lot of nuances when it comes to soundproofing a room correctly; everything from correct placement and installation of the sound clips and channels to the placement and spacing of the drywall sections.

I got (almost) ripped off big time. I should’ve known better.
One might be harsh description; Extremely overpriced, huge middleman, who seems to do nothing by themselves, other than answer some phone calls and emails, visit a few places and say ‘you need the best of the best.‘
I was quoted for a few walls of a room to ‘reduce sound’, for around FIVE DIGITS each, and no, my home is not next to Caltrain. They charged hefty amount for just an in-​home consultation (should be free, no?), which was nothing but some tape measuring and placing ear on the wall (no SPL meters or anything high-​tech). The consult fee is supposedly part of total job fee if you were to go with them, but even with that discount their markup is outrageous.
After further investigation, I realized I can source all of their components and service at ¹⁄₃ of ½ of their prices elsewhere, INCLUDING labors. And I’m not an architect or contractor, regular internet looking stuff.
West Coast must’ve oursource everything from components to contracting, and they are taking huge markups in the process, at least on their quote it seems like so.
I don’t know what all these reviewers are talking about and giving the full score, ‘feeling good about what you paid for’ syndrome?
Unless you don’t have internet, or you are feeling generously charitable to throw your money away, no private home owners should pay this kind of bill. Maybe for overprofitable company offices before getting taxed.
I’m giving one star for prompt e-​mail and appointment requests, kind of unlikely for construction biz (emails seem to be lost tool in the construction people otherwise)
Do your real search people, not rely too much on what other Unilocalers say.

We had a «walls are way too thin to be bedroom to bedroom» issue. The property manager was nice enough to let us re-​do the wall we share to help with this issue when the former tenant moved out. SO we wanted to find a relatively cheap and easy way to do this. We found West Coast Sound solutions and are so glad we did!
Elad really took the time to understand our situation and then suggested a solution. He even provided a sound check test/​demonstration with the products he suggested. He was really knowledgable about the whole problem and the Green Glue he suggested is working out fabulously!
Highly-​recommended for your sound problems.

Best sound solution out there. Elad and his team came out to our apartment to size things up and propose the best way to mitigate the sounds coming from our busy street. It was a pretty involved job including adding soundproof windows in 2 rooms and clips and channels plus drywall to our existing walls, and we even added wood flooring to the project because they were able to work it in to our project and beat the quotes of other wood flooring companies. The whole process from start to finish took slightly longer than we’d thought, and actually a few visits, but there was a lot going on and lots of moving pieces and they were able to coordinate it all.
Great guys, even helped me strategize how to get a refund when my movers dinged the nice floors they just put in.
All said and done, our place is so much quieter. While we can’t quite compare before and after with respect to comparing the walls, opening and closing the new interior windows makes a huge difference, so as a complete solution it is really successful. If you’re looking for a high quality long term solution, it’s worth the investment to do it all right the first time and go with WCSS for a more peaceful environment.

I’m torn here, as Jesse provided me with five star service all the way. He helped educate me on the different options, went through about 5 or 6 different estimates for me, and worked well within my timeframe.
The only reason for four stars is that while the execution of the work went pretty smoothly, there were a few minor issues with the quality (ie, baseboards got a little scratched removing the carpet, trimming of the door was a bit uneven), but nothing to be overly concerned about. Slightly disappointed when I mentioned it and nobody seemed to care, but I realize I can sometimes have unreasonable expectations.
In the end, would recommend to anyone, and am very thankful for Jesse’s help.

I’m soundproofing the inside of my Grand Wagoneer and ran across residential soundproofing for the SUV. After calling all over the city Elad at West Coast Soud Solutions was the most knowledgeable over the phone. I ventured over to the shop and was glad I chose WCSS. Lead is totally connected to soundproofing and made suggestions based on my individual needs. He was very reasonable and not trying to pressure me to buying. I’m very happy with my purchase and will post pics of the results.
Quick note… They are in the same bldg as a carpet store, no signage!
