This is a very small barbershop tucked away by many nearby barbershops, liquor stores, and restaurants.
This is a two chair shop both African American gentleman, one young one old but both very friendly. I’ve gotten my hair lined and cut by both and I feel their skills are mostly comparable. However the older gentleman seems to a little more time efficient with his clips.
The shop could be cleaned up a little cosmetically and also there’s never a consistent price every time I come which has varied from $ 8-​$ 15 for a line up with undercut design.

My first time coming here & Brandon did an excellent job of cutting my hair! He did it exactly as I wanted, even though I couldn’t find a picture of exactly what I wanted. I’ll definitely come back here!

Best haircut I’ve had since moving to the city! The other shops I’ve been to either a) made me feel unwelcome or b) did a horrible job of lining me up. I walked in without an appointment and Branden was able to squeeze me in and give me a great cut. Will definitely be going back to Westside Cuts & Style again.

I wanted to get a design shaved into my head and found Westside Cuts through Unilocal.I walked in without an appointment and Branden said he would fit me in. He gave me an awesome cut and I have been getting tons of compliments. And for only $ 25, I’m definitely going back. Plus, the music was awesome.

As a girl, its hard to find a barber with a real knowledge of hair and product. Branden was able to provide advice on how to grow my hair back out, Also did a hell of a job of lining me up. Will go back again!

Got my haircut by Branden S. for the first time not too long ago and he did a great job. Friendly, knowledgeable and funny. I would recommend to any and all looking for a quality haircut in San Francisco.

Ok. So moving along after not being acknowledged and saying hello to everyone in the space that was rapidly growing tinier as I could feel the homophobia in the air… man. all I wanted was a haircut. I Unilocal everything and I wanted was to get a haircut from someone who looked like me. I sought out this establishment to support because we live in a country and especially this city, where black lives don’t matter in the eyes of most. I wanted to support my brothers. Instead I got, I’m all booked up, check with the rest. Fair enough. I look around and none of the other two barbers looked up once. So I’m standing here still trying to figure out if this lack of customer service is even real (the reviews were so good! That’s why I came by :(& I sit on this bench. Stuck for about 30 seconds. I look and the gentleman at the last station, probably out of pity, says I can cut later. Guy in the middle seat, nothing still. I ask, like what time, though? (Because: work) and after the long silence I hear a grumpy and unwelcoming: just sit right there. As I’m bothering him. Sorry my queer presence bothers you and absolutely not will you ever get a dime of my money with that type of attitude, treatment, behavior, etc. etc. etc.
Damn, I really wanted to make you guys my new favorite shop. & blog about it. Post on all my social media sites about my new fly ass barbershop. Not here. Please try and treat other human beings better. That’s all.

This has got to be may favorite barber shop my whole life. I have been coming here since the mid 90s. It used to be called Hair Jordan and Steve oStyles. Now its Westside. Steve son has taken over so ive gone through two generations of barbers. Good prices. Fresh cuts. Great atmosphere. Holla at my man Nick. Or any barber here.

I had such a great experience at Westside Cuts & Style. Came in early on a Saturday with no appointment. Was Branden’s third cut of the day. And what a cut it was. Got a high&tight fade and parted the top. I added a picture of the finished product to shop’s gallery.
*Branden is the best in the Bay, no doubt about it.* I haven’t found a barber this good since I moved here. A match made in heaven. I’ve been getting my haircut by Branden for a couple months now. He’s an artist, and I always leave satisfied. I usually just give him a general idea of the type of haircut I’m interested in, and he always gives me something better than I expected… never too masculine, perfect fade. I leave feeling gorgeous. Oh, and the music– you know when you feel like the dj is talking to you, like, in your head? That’s what it’s like here. Every time. Thank you Branden!

My partner goes here and he absolutely loves it. He always sees Nate and I can vouch for the quality of his haircuts. We are referring our African-​American friends to this place.

Nate did an amazing job paying attention to detail. Cool little small shop on Divisadero near the main strip of popular shops. $ 25 for a cut with a beard/​goatee clean up. Definitely coming back to see him again.

New to the city and got recommended westside cut. Great atmosphere, great people, great haircut. Barnell is the man and is a beast with the clippers. Loved my fade and cut for the price and Barnell is a great guy. Talked a lot of sports and the place had a great neighborhood vibe.

What can I say, Nate knows how to cut. I did the whole Unilocal search thing to find a barbershop because I just flew in on business for a few days. This place came up and i couldn’t have asked for better. This place is a little out of the way, but it’s worth the walk (SF transportation sucks btw). I’m not sure of any other barbers because I only dealt with Nate but I can say that if you do deal with Nate you more than likely won’t be let down.

I’ve been coming to the westside shop for over ten years now. But I got to say this is one of the best environments to go to when you want a cut. Not only is the staff professional and fun but they always keep you laughing, with from sports talk, to relationship issues. Nothing at the barbershop is off limits. My personal barber is Barnell, he pays such attention to detail that you end up looking like a new man once you leave. So if you need a great haircut he is the man to go to.
But he’s not the only one there that’s really great with clippers. In fact I highly recommend all the barbers here, from Barnell to Nate. The two main fixtures at the shop. I will say I’ve never been let down by any one of the guys at Westside. But finally this is a locally owned barbershop with roots deeply planted in the community. Trust me a visit to this shop and you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been going to this barbershop for the last 2years. My personal barber has been Nate. I highly recommend him to anybody who is looking for New barber. He is a jack of all trades. There isn’t a haircut he can’t do.

I moved to SF in May 2012 and had been nervous about finding a reliable barber in SF. As a POC and being REALLY picky about my hair/​how my hair is cut I took a chance on Westside. I am EXTREMELY proud to say that I have NEVER left disappointed. I went the first time and was surprised. I went a second time and was impressed. And now, having gone a third time these guys KNOW what’s up. Professional, timely, and able to cut your hair the way you want (AND THEN SOME).
I’ve been getting cut by Branden who is super nice, reliable, cute and responsible about scheduling. Couldn’t ask for a better barber. It’s REALLY hard to find a good barber (being a woman with a short hair cut). Not only is Branden awesome, so is everyone else at the shop.
I’d suggest calling the day before and making an appointment. Since they’re good at what they do there can be a line. However, as long as you make an appointment (and let them know you’ll be late (if you are) you’ll be fine.
Good «hometown» barber feel. VERY reliable staff and always good music.

This place normally has excellent barbers. I’ve been here a few times and its always been great.*
*Note: there is one barber i would say stay clear of. He’s a older gentleman with long dreadlocks. I’m sure he might be OK, but he didn’t give me what i asked for. When your talking haircuts its big deal to get what you want. So I say stay clear of that guy other then that this place is top notch.

My TWA was two months overdue for a trim. I went in with a shaggy mane and came out with a perfectly coiffed TWA.
I was a walk in and waited a little but before Branden took me. He was polite, professional and efficient. He cut my hair beautifully. I had six compliments before I was out the door. All for $ 25.
Compared to the «natural salons» in this town who are asking $ 65-​$ 100 for the same service, the guys at Westside Cuts are the best. They’re laid back, no nonsense and good at what they do. They also play some serious jams if you are in the mood.

Matt’s Barbershop in Bgame was super busy so I decided to venture to a new place in my neighborhood. A quick check of Unilocal reviews showed that this spot was the most well received. I walked over and I asked a man outside if they were open. He said they were and I said I wanted a fade. He told me he’d fix me up. The 2 people inside must have been waiting for the other 2 barbers.
I asked for a 2 on the side to a fade. He did a good job. A lot of attention to detail. I even got my sideburns shaped for the first time. He also did a line at the top which I am still adjusting to because it’s my first time.
The place was small, cozy, and the banter was good barber shop style. Loud rap music playing but we could still talk. Chatted a lot about basketball. I will return again if Matt’s is busy again. I paid $ 25 here when I usually get charged $ 20 in Burlingame.
