Hard to do during our little heat wave. Nothing beats this brilliant weather.
What you should do at Yocup. Stick with the froyo. Liege waffle is not made fresh and instead reheated. Hoped for something more homemade.
Sprinkled with powdered sugar it was quite good. But lacked a reasonable price ($ 4 and change) and a personal touch.

Came here the other day, as the wifey wanted something «healthily» sweet.
Haven’t had much froyo lately, so my baseline measurement is… This one trip.
Got the mint in a waffle cone. Quite enjoyed it, nothing to complain about, lady was nice… I’m sure I’ll be back, especially if this warm front persists.

All I ordered was a plain waffle.
Thinking it would be freshly made, the worker opens the freezer, grabs a frozen one and throws it in the toaster. It was soggy, dry and chalky. I took one bite and tossed it. No one deserves to eat food as horrible as this. Oh, and it was $ 4.25.

Yocup is a tiny frozen yogurt shop on market street. There’s hardly anyone inside, but I came and gave them a shot. They had a poster for Belgium waffles and I was feeling waffle-​y.

Ordered Belgium Waffle with a frozen yogurt add on. They had only chocolate frozen yogurt available. Sigh. Well, not the end of the world. The frozen yogurt tasted good. What made things worst is the waffle wasn’t made on the spot. It was taken out of the fridge and reheated. It didn’t taste great… the waffle was lukewarm.

Good customer service experience. Frozen yogurt was like any other place. Waffle was not good.

After seeing girl after girl walk down Market with pretty concoctions in hand, I gave in to temptation & walked into Yocup.
I had the tart yogurt with mangoes. This was THE ONLY fresh fruit topping available at the time, all the others were out. The mangoes were unripened & slightly sour.
The yogurt had an icy/​watery consistency without any hint of creaminess.
While this place clearly attempts to compete with places like PinkBerry, the yogurt is inferior while the price is hefty, almost 4 $ for a small.

Wow they really pile it high. The price to product ratio is good! And the taste is awesome!
Highly recommend this place if you’re staying at the Palace or the Westin or even in the financial district. It’s a short walk to Union Square as well!

I don’t like very tarty froyo and this place has flavors that aren’t just tart. I like that they change up the flavors… but I never seem to stop by when there are flavors I want. Once I came by and got peanut butter. YUM.
I guess why I didn’t give it more stars is because it’s not self serve and it’s kinda pricey. They do put on a bunch of whatever topping you choose but I like putting how much I want instead of how much the employees feels like putting on.
Still a good place to stop by if you are in the area. Not too shabby.

Early for the game so I decided to treat my Daughter to frozen yogurt. Unlike the yummier albeit unhealthier choice: ice cream this place was right there so I figured, «Why the heck not?»
It’s a small little joint. the flavors, toppings, sizes were visibly up, 2 staff were on-​site ringing up and scooping. my Daughter ordered a teaser size (smallest size) original tart w/​lychee, I got a teaser size chocolate w/​Oreo crumbles. I know. I have NO SELF CONTROL.
There is a frequent card but I didn’t ask for it nor was it offered to me. the total came to be $ 7 something. not bad if you are right there and craving for a frozen delight but would I go back again? Highly unlikely.

I love my yogurt tart which is why i like coming here, but it’s super pricey if you like your toppings. I normally order the teaser since that’s just the right amount of fro-​yo for me, but adding another topping or two makes it an expensive little cup! Other than the price, the tart yogurt and fresh fruit normally fulfills my fro-​yo cravings!

This place is not bad for a frozen yogurt shop that doesn’t charge by ounce. I suppose they can get away with that being one of the few frozen yogurt shops right on Market Street.
The frozen yogurt here is a good consistency and texture. It’s got structure and holds well in the heat. They give a fair amount of toppings too.

Decent yogurt, very tart. Reminds me a lot of Pinkberry’s yogurt.

I’m sorry… but how is this place different than Tuttimelon?
I seriously don’t know.
Tastes basically the same… is around the same price, though I think Tutti is cheaper by a few pennies, same name… Original Tart.
Beyond the fact that I wasn’t told about any rainy day specials, they seem like exactly the same company.
I’d totally come back because I loved Tutti… uhh, Yocup.

Still on the hunt for some good fro yo in my work area, I decided to try Yocup. Not bad. But also a little out of my immediate ‘lunch network” to be a regular.
The original tart was okay. That’s normally the first flavor I’ll try at a new fro yo spot. It passed the taste test. But surprisingly, the chocolate at Yocup appealed to me more. Threw on some strawberries and almonds and I was good to go. They have a punch card for frequent fro yo’ers and pricing is moderate.
Decent fro yo in a pinch but don’t think I’ll be waking up in the middle of the night for some Yocup cravings.

Maybe I’m finally able to appreciate froyo… but whatever.
I tried the Strawberry FroYo… uhm, it was like cotton candy. Nope.
Then I tried the Blueberry Tart… omnomnom. $ 3.95 for the 5 oz portion and with 1 topping! (I had the mandarin oranges for a topping.) Awesome snack for a long ride on the 30 Stockton at 5 o’clock on a Friday… fking madhouse. Anyway…
Ohhh I love their pink lemonade and some cut mangos… omnomnom…gone in under 10 minutes, yo!
Try some!

The majority of the froyo places downtown are pretty much alike. so the only differentiator is the service.
These guys are always friendly and I appreciate the two stamp Tuesdays!

Lately I’ve been studying for the GRE Psychology exam to eventually enter graduate psychology program. I work and breathe abnormal psych, but have a lot of studying to do for social psych. Pretty sure I was batting my eyelashes at the cute Belarusian boy across the lecture hall from me who was in a lot of my psych classes, and not paying attention to lecture.
Anyway, social psych is not my forte, so I need some real-​world analogies to help me remember some of the key ideas and experiments. I’ve found the topic of consumer choices of particular interest, as my mind usually spins out of control and crashes with too many choices at my disposal. A trip to Nordstroms shoe department or
usually causes a mini-​meltdown. My study guide provides a summary of a classic experiment involving jams: «the team showed that when shoppers are given the option of choosing among smaller and larger assortments of jam, they show more interest in the larger assortment. But when it comes time to pick just one, they’re 10 times more likely to make a purchase if they choose among six rather than among 24 flavors of jam.»
I think this is why I feel comforted by yoCup. When I go to Icebee, I just run back and forth between the choices and can’t make up my mind, and end up pumping too much in my cup and getting a yummy tummy ache. At yoCup, there’s only four choices, with one special of the month. Last month, it was a delicious berry flavor. The chocolate is delicious and rich and goes well with raspberries on top, and I also love the blueberry with kiwis. The amount of choice is at an optimum; neither too much nor too little. Even a neurotic second-​guesser like myself can get in and out in average time. The lack of seating is conducive to getting out in the sun and enjoying your yoCup in Yerba Buena before returning to work or studying, or shopping and dropping.

I don’t know why, but the atmosphere at this Yocup is not the same as the original one in the Rincon center. Maybe because the Rincon one is bigger, brighter, and shares the same building that has a restaurant that serves my favorite pork buns (Yank Sing).
–Teaser (Smallest size, see photo): It includes one topping and I choose blueberry as my fro-​yo flavor. Their blueberry has the perfect consistency with the right amount of tartness/​sweetness (Just the same as the one in the Rincon Center). They gave me blueberries, but did not put it all around evenly. I won’t hold them up for that, but it seems like this location charges a little more than the other location. Either way, I was satisfied that I finally got to try Yocup#2 out.
They had 4 flavors here today: pumpkin, chocolate, original, and blueberry. Fresh fruit including pom seeds, grapes, blackberries, kiwi, strawberries, and more. I asked for a sample of original and honey, because the guy before me got it and I always wondered how honey as a topping would taste like. Honey has a weird grainy consistency and it was way too sweet that totally overpowers the tart original yogurt (not going to ever get this!).
P. S. They have the same stamp cards as the Rincon location. Ask for one, because they have TWO stamp TUESDAYS!!!

With all these new fro-​yo places opening, in fair assessment, we can all concur that the city of San Francisco is currently the fro-​yo capital of the United States!

Well eventually I’ll go to those cities one day in the future, but I did arrive at yocup’s second location (Third and Market St… next to Jeffery’s toys).
The newest fro-​yo shop, formerly an «Oh la la» coffee shop, has just opened less than a week and is under the same ownership as the successful Rincon Center location. Although the newest location is quite smaller, less bright and no available seating, the toppings and the fro-​yo are identical.
There were two available flavored fro-​yo:
The Plain Tart is creamy and tart
The Blueberry Tart is «berry» refreshing
I had that Blueberry tart in a «teaser» (medium) size fro-​yo. For $ 5.25+tax, you get a choice of three toppings. I chose the popular mochi ball, blackberries and a drizzle of honey as my trio toppings. Like the Rincon Center, the cool treat was a nice size portion and pretty stiff. But unlike the other location, there are no seating areas, so I needed to somewhat enjoy my treat in the dirty alley between the Jeffery’s toys and Grain D’or bakery.
I would love to give the newest yocup 4 stars, but there are no seating. I don’t like to enjoy my fro-​yo in a alley with the mixture of feces and urine.
