Did a local ‘Detour’ app walking tour then found this place on Unilocal: love it! Super authentic Ethiopian style coffee, definitely try the Ethiopiano. Coffee roasted in the shop, friendly staff, a new favorite of mine! Definitely the best coffee in the neighborhood.

This area has needed an independent coffee shop for a long time. The options were either McDonalds and Starbucks on Fillmore or delicious but expensive coffee on Divisadero at the Mill(not to mention the sometimes absurd lines and atmosphere). So, when this place opened, I was excited to see that besides being conveniently located near a bunch of bus stops(making it easy to grab coffee on the way to work), it seems like a mom and pop(or pop and daughters?) type shop with delicious and well-priced coffee. This shop specializes in individually prepared Ethiopian coffee, and service is fast and friendly. They also have sandwiches and pastries, all thoughtfully made. My new favorite go-to spot. I’m really rooting for this place to take off.

Really delicious coffee, and for a great price! I was attending an event nearby and needed a quick pick-me-up. One sip and I was wide awake(and feeling peppy enough to write this right away). I love how cozy this place feels — welcoming and not pretentious at all(unlike how some other SF establishments can be… just sayin’). The owner was so friendly. If I lived around here, this would be a regular spot.

The other reviews pretty much sum this up. Before Zo11 opened up, the only other coffee in the area was McDonalds and Starbucks, so to be honest, Zo11 could have been mediocre and still been a very welcome addition. Luckily, it’s not mediocre, it’s actually one of my favorite coffee shops in the city now. They’ll make an americano or anything else you want on the spot, but the pre-brewed stuff is surprisingly delicious(and cheap). Be warned, the coffee will really get you going… not sure if the beans themselves or more caffeinated or what, but one cup is more than enough to get my morning started. The baked goods are home made and *amazing*… If you see the Pecan pie muffin-thing while in there, it’s a must get. The owners are incredibly friendly, so make sure to chat with them!

This cute little coffee shop just opened on my block– I only just today got around to try into and WOW– best coffee from here to Geary– hands down. I will be coming here more to use the WiFi and get my coffee buzz on. Wish they had more snack options but I’m sure with time it will come!

This place is now my go to neighborhood coffee shop. Everyone that works here is super nice and gracious. It’s very unpretentious compared to other highly regarded places nearby(like The Mill on Divis). It’s actually the only place I know of where you can get a delicious cup 12oz of coffee for under $ 2. They don’t make it by the cup like some places(at the moment anyway), and that was initially a red flag for me, but after I tried their coffee both my taste buds and wallet were more than satisfied. It’s just as good as a $ 48oz cup from ritual or four barrel. Most of their pastries are made in house. The selection varies from day to day, but so far everything I’ve tried is delicious. You can definitely tell the freshness and homemade feel. They are also considerably less sugary than most coffee shop pastries you’ll find. To top it all off, the owner is specializing in sourcing and selling Raw beans and will soon be hosting workshops on how to roast at home, which is a tradition he is bringing to us from Ethiopia.

I’ve been hoping for a coffee shop like this to open in the neighborhood for so long. Finally an alternative to Starbucks. They make a mean cup of coffee. You can get great beans for home use. Everyone working is super friendly and the relaxed vibe is completed with excellent music selection. My new go to coffee shop!

Great neighborhood place! The coffee is excellent – smooth and dark. The service is wonderful. I was sick one day and Alex made me a fresh ginger tea infusion on the spot. Music and art on the weekends.
