IYE: Dance Your Way to Fit with San Gabriel Dance Studio

Good Times with Adam Jones. I was like why does he look familiar?!? Duh — he was the same instructor for the CMYE Unilocal Fit Club — at Groov3 in Eagle Rock. Good times. Great warm-​up and stretch, then to the choreography.
Gorgeous dance studio with two studios to hold on going class. They have a filtered water fountain to fill your bottle or glasses to drink out. Very Green!!!

They’re located on the corner of Las Tunas and San Marino. It’s a little spot, and I passed by a few times before realizing where it was. teehee!

I have actually been looking to get back into finding classes as a way of exercise so this was excellent!
The hip hop class, taught by Adam, is really great for those looking to get a work out and do it by learning a hip hop dance routine. Its not so much for hip hop technique so to speak but great for a fun work out! I thoroughly enjoyed it and we even did some push ups for warm up!
Definitely looking to see when I’ll find time to go back and take some real classes!

Shanon Y. and I came a little late but we were still able to work a bit of sweat from the crazy Zumba routine we learned from Tanya!
She shook her bon bon no other! I use to attend a lot of Zumba classes but now I am a yoga kind of girl! Coming back to Zumba I remembered why I loved it! You not only work up a sweat but you also practice on your rhythm !
Anyways Tanya has a daughter going to college and looked as if she’s in her early 30s… which goes to show Zumba must be doing her body right! Def. Thinking about coming back !
Also the Joia Life all natural sodas were delicious! I am not a fan of carbonated drinks but Joia got me craving for some! Its so light and tasty… just makes drinking soda not sound so bad!

Thanks Nitar for the good workout on a sunny Sunday afternoon! It was fun and my body is still feeling the burn.
Adam was a great instructor for the hip hop class. He took us through the steps in half time before doing it at tempo. We did all the steps in sections that were easily digestible. By the end, I was sweating buckets and learned a whole little hip hop dance.
If hip hop wasn’t enough, Jessica took us through an hour of ballet stretch and it was no joke. I felt the burn maybe even more intensely here than during hip hop. I found out just how inflexible I was and could definitely use some help.
San Gabriel Dance Studio is a great facility with two great dance studio spaces. They have a great staff and what looks like a full schedule.

I’ve experienced SG dance studio’s ballet before, however it was my first time doing hip hop and it was fun! Adam was our instructor and I loved how pumped up he was when teaching! He has the humor, the moves and the skills. He did not only dropped it like its hot, but we also did a few sexy moves during the routine. Those half time core and arms workout was a burn! But sure felt good.
Had no break, got to experience zumba right after! Yup, let it sweat! Tanya taught Zumba there. If you’ve seen how Shakira, singer, dance, they are almost simular. We did some belly dancing and salsa! I love how active she gets with the class, it brought us all together to shake what our mama gave us! ;)
Overall, great experience, fun times! Don’t forget, if you check in, you get a free class!

Another awesome free event thanks to San Gabriel Dance Studio, Unilocal and Nitar! Zumba was fun and quite the workout! The instructor was great and moved a bit fast for me, lol. I left like I was going to trip over myself many times! There wasn’t a lot of people so it was really intimate and great! I also loved the goodies after: reusable Unilocal bottles, drinks from Joia, and snacks from KIND (my favorite brand!), and Pretzel Crisps! Met some awesome new people too! I’m excited for the next Unilocal workout event! Thanks again San Gabriel Dance studio, Nitar and Unilocal for another awesome event… now, time for a late lunch!

Had a great experience with the 1 PM Hip Hop class with dance instructor Adam Jones! :)
There seems to be 2 – 3 rooms in the studio and the one where the hip hop class was mirrored, spacious and well-​lit.
Adam was so full of energy and his moves were fairly easy to follow. He made sure to repeat the more complicated steps slowly until we got it and a few moves at a time so we can all combine it together. We looked all synchronized and awesome!

Don’t know how Nitar does it? But she has organized another fun and fitness geared event.
Today I participated in the Hip Hop and the stretching class at the San Gabriel Dance Studio. All I can say is that all the instructors made it fun and enjoyable. Adam Jones had a lot of energy and made sure everyone got the steps down before we performed the dance steps at an uptempo beat. Loved his use of the word «Sexy time»! Stretching was great also. The instructor gave us a lot of stretches to do and came around to assist us to make sure we were doing the right way. She also had a lot of energy and helped us stretch out! I’m for certain we will be sore tomorrow!!!
Great to be part of these IYE events that you organize Nitar! I would also like to give thanks to San Gabriel Dance Studio and their staff for lending there place to us. Of course, we can’t forget all the awesome Unilocal swag! Looking forward to the next event!

SOOOO MUUUCH FUNNNN!!! I attended the 2pm Zumba class and boy… was is something!!! I SMILED AND LAUGHED THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE HOUR! Our instructor, Tanya L. was so enthusiastic, energized, encouraging (and really nimble)! There were about 5 or 6 different Zumba dances with upbeat music and some were easier than the rest. It was fast paced and although I had trouble doing all the moves, Tanya reminded us to stay positive and that we were only beginners and that we should just have fun with Zumba! She was awesome! MAN… HER ENERGY WAS OFF THE CHARTS!!! I absolutely loved that!
So there’s one lesson I learned throughout this event: Unless everyone needs a really good laugh, I should never be allowed to Belly Dance or Salsa… ever…EVER!
I can’t wait for another Unilocal event like this!!! Thank you again to Unilocal,Nitar, San Gabriel Dance Studio, Tanya L., KIND and Joia!!!
