To Whom It May Concern:
I work for a parent company that owns three 80s themed clubs in Southern California. I am their Stage Manager and Head Sound Engineer. I bring all of our business to Guitar Center in Brea, CA. Through GC, we ordered two CDJ stands from your company. Upon arrival to my club, a pivotal piece was missing in only one of the boxes. Obviously, there is room for human error, and things like this can happen. All be it inconvenient, it happens and my boss’ and I were understanding.
I contacted the store manager at GC Brea, Erland Ardagas, immediately and he rapidly sprung into action to get a hold of your company to rectify the situation. It is my understanding that your company in general, was VERY difficult with Erland and his associates and argued profusely that the part was NOT missing. How can you come to that conclusion if you are not at my club looking at the box?! And why would you argue with a major client like Guitar Center over a part that costs your company just a few dollars!!! Not only are you upsetting myself and my company, but also a high volume store like Guitar Center Brea to the point where none of us involved will want to recommend your products. Was that worth the argument? What ever happened to the customer is always right?! If myself as the consumer, does not buy your products, then somebody’s salary at your company is not getting paid. Is that worth it over a measly part?
And furthermore, don’t make the promise of over-​nighting the part if you are not going to do it. I have a tracking number of, 1Z37412W0343568784, that showed the process was started on Wednesday September 3^rd, to over-​night that part to GC, and today is Monday September 8^th, and you had never shipped it! Who dropped the ball!!!
If this would’ve been taken care of right away on your part, then all would be good. But because of this situation, and the way it played out, I can NEVER AGAIN recommend your products with my name attached to it. I hope your happy Odyssey!

Odyssey makes an assortment of products to protect your mobile DJ gear. Their flight cases are extremely sturdy and well thought-​out. A lot of the equipment are designed to fit with a couple of specific models of CD/​DVD-​playback device or mixer in mind. I appreciate the CD-​tray cut-​out on the front of most of these cases and the ample room in the back for your cable connections. Most of the coffin and case covers also can be placed under the lower case as a secured raised platform.
What is most attractive about their current line for me is their «glide style» cases. Most DJs that I see usually bring a separate laptop stand for their DVS pieces while these cases have the stand conveniently built in. I’ve had my current Odyssey cases for over 5 years without any problems but I’m tempted to splurge on this just because it would save me some precious space in my rental arsenal.
The website also has a list of compatible products for each of their cases– which is very helpful when deciding which one is best for you. It’s nice to have a brand that focuses primarily on event equipment management and I can tell that they have the DJ/​techie/​end-​user in mind when designing their products. I see that they also have a partnership with BC Cases in order to custom size your own cases. Although I haven’t needed to use this service yet, I can see it becoming useful in the future.
