You can always tell how the place is by their front office and boy let me tell you it started on the right path — I left a voicemail around 7AM before office hours and I got a call back by 830AM. I had a bad back — locked up in the middle of the night almost hospital bound. They got my in at 11AM. Michelle and Sarah were awesome — a happy front desk usually means good management and you can tell they are part of the practice family and not just employees. It was my first time to a chiropractor so I was a little nervous but the ladies were patient to walk me through all the steps and provide personal stories to get me comfortable. Dr. Philips finally saw me — asked me a series of questions, probed, and conducted a pretty intensive evaluation of me. I will say to allow for some time because it is very comprehensive and hey, it’s your spine — you don’t want a 10 minute jiffy lube consultation. Another great feature is on-​site XRAY. Maybe that’s standard, I don’t know but not only did he conduct an evaluation but he was able to foot it with empirical evidence. Treatment consisted of some adjustments, stretches, a muscle stimulating machine, ultrasound, another to be named massaging machine, and best practices on what to do when I leave (such as ice and rest). He even wanted me back the same day in the afternoon to ensure the treatment was correct. I have to admit, I was a little suspicious at first, but I went home with a pain level of 1 versus 8 or 9 when I went in. This morning, I am a little sore/​achy, and the pain level is around 2 — way above expectations. I am going today for a follow up and can only expect even better things. What a great find. Dr. Philips is a local Alamden fellow with roots here in San Jose — big plus for me. They also took my Anthem Blue Cross PPO, so I’m stoked about that!

Dr. Decker is awesome 6 months ago I couldn’t go to gym I had two bulging discs in my lower back. I was in lot of pain over a year doctors did injections, rehab nothing was helping. I took a chance tried everything, luckily I tried a chiropractor. He worked with me and now I have almost no pain no talk of surgery anymore from doctor and back in the gym running lost 20lbs. Was diagnosed with acute pain syndrome from being in pain so long I was depressed felt hopeless had panic and anxiety attacks. Haven’t had them since I have been out of pain. If you have any back issues do yourself the favor go see doctor Decker. He has saved me from surgery long term recovery and my sanity. Couldn’t ask for anything more from a chiropractor I will be a life long believer and patient.

Came here to get my back checked out. I’ve only been there for one visit so far (with multiple other sessions to come) but I already really like this place.
The staff in the front is professional, friendly and welcoming. The wait to see the doctor was very quick so major points for that! I was seen by Dr. Phil who was friendly and very helpful. He explained everything every step of the way and was very patient. Even after I left the office, I received a call from him later that evening as a check-​up and a reminder of what I should do to relieve my back pain. I’ve never been so impressed with a doctor’s office before as I have with this place.
Also, spoke to a nice lady about how she has been coming to them for the past 10 years and used to see Dr. Phil’s father! This reassured me that I am in good hands.

Dr. Philip Dieter of The Almaden Chiropractic & Wellness Center is a great doctor located at a wonderful facility where you can get treatment and therapy options for all your neck and back injuries etc. Dr. Philip Dieter is an exceptional doctor that can change your life if you are injured or living with back or neck pain. It all starts with a computerized xray of your spine and a thorough assessment of your injury or pain that you’re having. I never knew that they had so many different types of therapy to help you. His goal is to be able to give you maximum pain free movement throughout your whole body. Whether he gives you an adjustment by hand or assisted by a special machine, you can be assured that he knows exactly what he is doing. I have three different injuries on my spine, which I’ve had for a long time from falling off my horse, bike etc. and new injuries which I have acquired from getting rear ended, working out wrong or accidently jerking my body etc. Sometimes you sleep wrong and something gets out of alignment. Either way I have been coming to The Almaden Chiropractic & Wellness Center for a long time now & usually It’s just for regular maintenance on my problems areas and other times it has been for major things like temporary whip lash in my arms from getting rear ended or a lower back injury which I have now. The main reason that I am writing this review is because I noticed that sometimes when I mention to others that I am going to see a chiropractor, some people get a look of worry on their face or they say that they don’t like chiropractors. So I ask them did you have a bad experience or something? Some say yes and some say that they have never been to one.
All I can say is that if there were no chiropractors in this world, then I would be in constant pain because when three different disks in your neck and back are permanently deformed because of certain falls or injuries that you sustained over the years it can be extremely painful. When these disks are pushing on a nerve or are not exactly aligned correctly. I am living proof that whether your injury is from many years ago or recently attained that these chiropractors can be very beneficial to you. Especially when your goal is to live a very active lifestyle. Their job is to try and get your spine to align properly because if it isn’t then different areas of your internal body/​organs could be negatively affected or not working at full function. I never knew that if your spine isn’t aligned correctly and that certain disks are responsible for your digestion, vision, heart, liver, lungs etc. Please forgive me if I’m not explaining this exactly right, but I think I am getting the general idea across. Basically if you’re living with back or neck pain then you are not able to enjoy your life and that is why Dr. Dieter is so important. So, if you have ever suffered from neck or back pain or pain in other areas of your body caused by injury, then these services can change your life. I recently hurt my lower back and through regular visits I am already noticing a lot of positive change, ALOT LESS PAIN and overall significant improvement. I have also been asked to do a lot different therapeutic exercises to strengthen my lower back & core. Dr. Dieter is very positive, calming, professional, knowledgeable, sympathetic, understanding, caring and very smart. I think that you will like him. If he can help my back and neck then I know he can help yours. I highly recommend this center and I am very thankful and pleased with their services. I give them five stars * * * * *
All I know is that from seeing Dr. Philip Dieter and getting chiropractic therapy that my pain level has been greatly reduced and my activity level has been increased. Basically if you’re in pain then you’re not going to really want to move around that much. I love to jog and work out in the Gym and even though I’m not completely cured yet I know that I’m on my way. It was just recently that I injured my lower back and thanks to Dr. Philip Dieter at the Almaden Chiropractic and Wellness Center I will have an active and pain free life. The office is always nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and the staff are always friendly, professional, efficient and show wonderful customer service skills. I also had a massage there a couple of times and that was an incredibly wonderful experience.

Love this place. It’s always easy to get an appointment, and the staff is wonderful. I see Dr. Decker and he’s made huge improvements on my back pain!

These people are great!
I used their website to set up an initial exam and Ashley got back to me right away. Jessica, Monica, and she are all very friendly and competent.
I was immediately comfortable with Dr. Decker. He listens. He asks the right questions. He’s proactive. And he’s passionate about his patients being able to live healthy lives. I never expected having good conversations about naturopathy and healthy lifestyle choices with my chiropracter.
Upon our first meeting, after listening to me present to him my list of issues, he immediately had a couple of x-​rays taken, wherein he found a couple of unexpected things (things that weren’t caught in the MRI I had done a couple months ago).
I’m super squeamish about people touching me in general, and especially with the idea of chiropractic adjustments. That in mind, Dr. Decker and the girls at the clinic have thus far done a really great job staying within the boundaries of my comfort zone, and working to help me improve my pain levels and management.
It’s a bit of a chore having to will myself into going to the office twice a week. But the company kept there makes it worthwhile.

I’ve been dealing with sciatic back pain since 2009 and recently experienced the most painful flare ups. I’ve tried therapy and a variety of pain meds that just didn’t work for me. My regular doctor was insisting I get a steroid epidural. In which, I decided to take a different route and give chiropractic adjustments a shot. Dr. Decker made me feel comfortable and relaxed from day one. I am feeling better and able to do the things I love without the pain. Thank you Dr. Decker!

I was having some issues with my back and I decided to try this place out. I am so happy that I did! Dr. Decker is personable, funny and a great chiropractor. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout my first ever chiropractic appointment. I have recommended multiple people and I will continue to do so.

I came here seeking a second opinion after messing up my back at crossfit. I am a newbie to chiropractics and Dr. Phil Dietz and his office staff have been nothing short of amazing– flexible scheduling, friendliness etc. Dr. Phil took his time assessing me, what my pain was like, and more importantly treating me like an old friend instead of just another patient walking through his doors. I have been seeing him for about two weeks (6 appts all together) and my backs is nearly 85% better so much so that I am going back to the gym tonight! I would highly recommend this family owned business– as well they offer cold laser therapy, massage, ultrasound therapy and much more.

Very honest and extremely helpful. I was in need of immediate pain relief due to a spinal injury, and not only were they able to make me comfortable, but they were very informative and supportive.
They were especially helpful when I needed to find a surgeon and anesthesiologist. The offices I was sent to originally had put me on a waiting list for a month out and the Almaden Chiropractic & Wellness connected me with an amazing office which made my case and severe pain a priority which was addressed in less that 7 days.
I have since introduced my partner, mother-​in-​law, and father-​in-​law to Almaden Chiropractic & Wellness. They treat the person and make a difference for the better.

Last summer I started getting left hip problems. I went to my family Doctor, who gave me two Cortisone shots over a three month period. When the problem came back, he referred me to an Orthopedic Surgeon, who sent me for an MRI that showed no obvious bone or tissue problems, so he yet again gave me a third larger dose of Cortisone… NO HELP!!! In January, my Chiropractic credits, through my Insurance reset, so I could return to Almaden Chirpractic & Wellness, THANK GOD! After about ½ dozen visits, a couple of ½ hour massages to the lowback, hip, left Glut area and three ART sessions, I feel far better that the three Cortisone shots ever made me feel! Dr Philip and Staff are AWESOME!!!
A few more visits and I will be back to my old self again!

Plantar Fasciitis: PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
You may be thinking «Plantar fasciitis is treated at a Chiropractic office?» I say YES!!! First let’s examine what a Chiropractor does:
A Chiropractor is a health care professional concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on general health. The main chiropractic treatment technique involves manual therapy, including manipulation of the spine, other joints, and (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART) SOFT TISSUES!!!
Soft Tissue refers to tissues that connect, support, or surround other structures and organs of the body, not being bone. Soft tissue includes tendons, ligaments, FASCIA, skin, fibrous tissues…
So now we understand that a Chiropractor treats FASCIA. Think of Dr. Philip Dieter as not only a Doctor, but a REALLY GOOD physical therapist. In my case, my fascia was inflamed (Plantar Fasciitis) and Dr. Philip Dieter understands what contributes to the fascia’s inflammation. He explained how all the muscles and tendons in the leg and foot effect each other. In my case, in addition to stretching out my Plantar Fascia, he loosened up my calf muscles which in turn loosened up my Achilles tendon, thus easing up the tension in my Plantar Fascia allowing it to «heal» or become not inflamed any longer. NO MORE PAIN!!!
Please realize that you will have to do stretches et cetera. I highly suggest purchasing one of the Roller Massager’s they sell as this item along with «yoga bands» will reduce your pain at a faster pace.
Lastly, I suggest purchasing Orthoheel Men’s Bryce or Women’s «Cascade» sandals for around the house, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE HARDWOOD FLOORS!!!
BTW… he’s a really good «traditional» Chiropractor also :)

Right now I am being treated for Fibromyalgia (FM or FMS) related aches and symptoms at Almaden Chiropractic and Wellness. I am very impressed at the time and thought put into my wellness plan after I discussed my health issues with them. My treatment/​wellness plan was thoroughly discussed with me by Dr. Philip Dieter, and is now being put into action. I am seeing positive results and changes in my usual FM pattern. There are still bad days, but when I have them I am able to contact the office to get advice or come in if need be. Dr. Phil is always up front and informative. I feel very well cared for and actually more enlightened and educated on my spine and overall health. If Dr. Phil is not in, Dr. Carl Dieter is also a wonderful alternative. They are both spot on in making sure their patients needs are taken care of.
In addition to the great care I receive here, the center’s other doctors and staff are professional and personable and the facilities are brand new and beautiful. They have cold laser therapy, SpineMED, thermal imaging, x-​ray room, a ProAdjuster, and even a massage therapy room onsite.
Good facilities and great doctors… definitely worthy of a 5 star rating!
