Almaden Window & Door

I LOVE my new sliding glass door. Our door (including complete frame) had to be replaced after we had foundation work done. Robin was extremely helpful in making sure I picked out the right door, and getting us a great quote. The work was done in one day, and now I have a new door that OPENS. I highly recommend this company if you need new windows & doors!

We recently replaced our single pained windows and sliding door. My neighbor really shopped around, got prices and looked at various window and door companies. He said that Almaden Window & Door was by far the best bet. He was absolutely right. Everyone we dealt with was polite, efficient and they were very neat while they worked and cleaned up really well after they worked. The windows look great. Home remodels are never cheap, but bang for your buck Almaden Window & Door is as good as it gets. I highly recommend them.

Almaden Window replaced all of our windows a couple of years ago. They did a great job, gave us a good price and were very professional. Just had them install a sliding glass door and got the exact same great service. Robin worked with me to get to a price and quality of window that we were comfortable with, and Jim did excellent work. I recommend them to people all of the time.

I hired Almaden Window and Door to replace a door with a window, and put double french doors where a window was. Robin was very patient working with me as I waffled my way through a number of different options and configurations. She knows the products in detail and makes sure to tell you all those little things that in my experience often end up being surprises when you see the finished project. She was also very good about helping figure out the timing on ordering and installing, which was important since we needed to coordinate with other trades.
The job went so smoothly – it was amazing. Jim and Ruben came prepared with every single thing they needed – siding patch, transition strip, etc. and banged it out like production work, even though it was custom.
What’s really nice about working with these guys is that they also bring the other trades. We had a tiny bit of electrical work associated with adding the door, and of course there’s a drywall patch. Some contractors leave you hanging with associated work, and it’s really hard as a homeowner to find someone to come out for such a small amount of work, much less coordinate it all. They work with good people – we ended up hiring their electrician to do some other work in our kitchen. Their preferred drywall guy did let them down, but they got a back up in fairly quickly and handled all the coordination on that as well. The only thing they don’t do is paint, but I’m sure they know someone good. .. highly recommended.

We recently had a little accident with our patio door — ok, basically a huge slab of stone was dropped into it and destroyed it. Oops.
Almaden Window & Door was one of four companies we called. Robin gave us a ballpark estimate right away (other companies wouldn’t even give a price range without scheduling someone to come out 48 hours later, and others never called us back).
We stopped by their showroom to check out the features and options. Robin listened carefully to our concerns, and recommended a mid-​level model to fit the style of our home, but with an added three-​point integrated security lock. It was exactly what we wanted. A formal quote was followed by an on-​site confirmation of the door measurements the next morning — very quick.
The door arrived on schedule (2 weeks), and was installed on schedule. Everything was done for exactly the quoted price. Jim was very careful, even removing pictures from the interior wall in case their banging might shake them off their hooks. Their work was top notch, and it works flawlessly. They met our expectations 100% and we couldn’t be happier.

Jim and Rueben from Almaden Window and Door installed new construction Milgard windows on my single story home. Everything was top notch and I would definately recommend them if you are in the market for windows. Robin was helpful in answering my questions and the many details that go into selecting windows. Jim and Rueben were also a pleasure to work with. They were so efficient throughout the whole job. In addition, the stucco work was done really well.

Our experience with Almaden Window and & Door was incredible. From the first day, we gave Robin our budget and she worked out what windows would be best for US. We were able to try them out in their showroom and we ordered them that day. In about 2 weeks, they arrived to install them (most other places take 4+ weeks!). They were on time every day and were very clean. I think they left the house cleaner than before they had arrived. All the old debris and garbage was removed. The people they use for drywall and stucco were also very professional. I am very happy that we went with Robin and Jim and I would recommend this company to anyone interested in quality windows. We got estimates from a couple other companies, but some lacked the quality and most did not want to bother with any sort of construction.
I love the new windows, Robin and Jim. You can guarantee we will use your company again and again.

I cannot possibly say enough good about my experience with Almaden Window & Door! They just this week finished replacing all the craptacular flimsy 1971 windows in our house — 14 big ones, plus two sliding doors — with beautiful new-​construction Milgards. Robin (in the office) is great, and Jim and Ruben did FANTASTIC work. I mean — they were prompt, unobtrusive, efficient, steady, and the final result looks amazing. My husband and I cannot stop staring at our windows — the trim is perfect, the stucco repair flawless — everything about this job is as good as it gets, especially when you add in the «human factor» of the actual people you’re dealing with — they take their work seriously, and are absolutely on the level, honest, courteous, and just plain nice! Huge thanks to everyone involved, and huge recommend to anyone considering Almaden Window & Door.

Can’t speak to the quality of their work, since we never got that far. I scheduled an appointment with them for a measuring and estimate. They never showed or called to explain why. I called once afterwards to ask about a reschedule, and they never even bothered to call me back. If this is their idea of customer service before a job, I don’t want to see their idea of customer service during/​after a job.

I had a great experience with Almaden Window and Door. We recently bought our first house and have had a few bad experiences with vendors. When it came time to replace our windows, I was hesitant. A few other window companies were very pushy and when I didn’t order right away, stopped answering my emails. Robin was extremely prompt in her communication and the windows were installed on time with great craftsmanship. I couldn’t have asked for more and highly recommend them.

Almaden Window & Door is THE business to use to replace your windows! We finally had our original 1970s single pane windows replaced on the outside of our house. Jim, Robin and their crew’s work was professional, detail-​oriented, and immaculately clean. If you’re looking to replace your old windows with a premium company, you won’t go wrong!

We needed to replace a few windows and we want it to match the existing windows so we call Almaden Jim came out and went over the windows and took some measurement he show us some sample of the new one and we agree on the style so he order the windows and when they came in they put them in without any problems we were very please.

Alamaden Window and Doors are simply the BEST! I will only let them do my work. Even if there is a remodeling project in the works I have Jim replace my windows before the projects starts.
I like the fact that Jim does the work, they are always on time, they are neat and they stand by what they do.

After a much lukewarm experience with another contractor to replace our patio doors, a friend of mine suggested I contact Robin to discuss replacement of all our windows. I found her to be really proactive and easy to deal with. She was much accommodating to our special requests, including ordering Andersen windows, a line they don’t normally carry.
For the installation, Jim demonstrated a high level of craftsmanship. Our painter even commented that Jim’s work was one of the best trim work he had ever seen. The installation was done on-​time and cleanly.
I have to say this is one of my best experience dealing with a contractor in the Bay Area… And I’ve had several nightmares in this respect. :) Well done!

We needed to replace our old, single pane windows, and a friend recommended Almaden Window and Door. Jim came out within one day and took all the measurments and gave us some recommendations of things we hadn’t considered. Robin had the windows ordered and delivered ahead of schedule. While the installation was perfect, it was the attention to detail that was the best part. For example, the windows were «framed» in by cutting small pieces of wood to match our existing walls. And the work area was left cleaner than before the work was started. I highly recommend Almaden Window and Door!
