It is time to wrap up my Unilocal marathon today with this unique shop, very involved in the community, artistic with a mix of culture, hint of humor, cynicism and irony. Very friendly and enticing for the artist in one! a little jewel!

Great place! Me and the wife went just to go browsing and got a couple cute marriage things for our anniversary. Got 15% off with Unilocal coupon. So that was sweet to. A lot of cute little things. Take your time looking or you will miss something cool!

The shop was not what I expected. A lot of poorly made stuff. Trying to get into the store to return something but their website has 2 different open for business times. I tried calling during those hr & nobody answered. Very upsetting after we spent a lot of $$ in the store.

I went to downtown San Jose today looking for«Ay Dios Mio». Charming little shop! Deceivingly small, in fact, because they have packed a lot of items in a quite compact space. However, everything is beautifully displayed and easy to see. Unusual, pretty, humorous, fun gifting stuff. Bought«stocking stuffers» and birthday gifts for others but now I want them for myself! Very nice young woman minding the store. I enjoyed looking at everything so much! And if you like colorful things and Dia de Los Muertos stuff, this is the place!

I’m going to give them 2 stars due to their lack of customer service. They do carry a lot of unique & crafty items. I have purchased several items here before and have been very happy with them. Prices can be high. Unfortunately their lack of customer service is very unappealing. The young girl who works here has never greeted me, rarely smiles & is not very welcoming. I think she might be related to the owner somehow, otherwise can’t imagine why she would be working here since it seems like she hates it. My major complaint is that there have been several times when I’ve gone by their store only to find it closed??? This is my ultimate pet peeve when it comes to small boutiques such as Ay Dios Mio. One time is was close to noon and I saw the unfriendly young lady strolling casually towards the store from the parking lot across the street even though their sign said they were open at 11:30. I hope they stay in business but if not, it wouldn’t surprise me.

Great little place to shop! I got a very cute wallet, plates, bowls and earrings. It is hard to find the mexican lotteria items I had been searching for but found them here! Prices are pretty decent. I loved the art up on the wall. Plan on going back and hope to find some more little bowls :)

This boutique appeals to me in many levels. One of a kind gifts, beautiful art, Dazzling Accessories, girlie stuff and above all personalized service with the sweetest staff you will ever experience. I enjoy shopping here!

I absolutely love this shop inside the market. The owner is super friendly and every time I’ve been here she takes her time to talk about the items she has for sale in her store. She also participates in local events with other vendors and artists to promote small businesses. As far as prices at ADM, it’s not particularly cheap but you have to consider that these are handmade imported items and not just imitated Mexican folk art. Although this shop is small, it covers everything from clothing to dinnerware, hair accessories and jewelry. Even chocolate! You will not be disappointed, I highly recommend it.

I thought to myself, «Self, do you really want to give them a whoppin 5, Woohoo, As good as it gets, or a 4 because I am a fan», but then I thought, Why not a 5, because it IS as GOOD as it gets” if this is your style, because it is definitely mine, so a 5ITIS! From art, fabrics, aprons, keepsake boxes to beautiful sugar skull handbags, I heart this place!!! And it is in a great location, I love the San Pedro market.

I can’t say that this is a place I’d shop at but the Dios de los Muertos stuff if kinda cool. Especially the Marilyn Monroe painting with the appropriate skull mask

I fell in love with Ay Dios Mio a few years ago after I visited Rose in her home for a cooking demonstration. My home and I are now adorned with many Ay Dios Mio products from jewelry to purses to plates to items for my Dia de los muertos altar. I am always so excited to see Ay Dios Mio at street fair. You can imagine how excited I was to hear that it is now walking distance from my office. The shop is absolutely adorable and I am always feel so welcome when I come in.

Ay Dios Mio has a great mix of fun, unique items with a Latino flair. I loved that they had products that were not the traditional Mexican imports that you see at every store. The buyer and owner Rose M. has a great instinct for featuring items that appeal to the Modern Latino. Great selection of jewelry ranging from fun costume earring to fine silver designs. Lots of Day of the Dead paintings, cups, cards and gift items. Beautiful Loteria plates and great purse designs. I also love that she features lots of art and products from up and coming and established Latino artists.

Mexico has the world’s finest artisans and artisanship. Unfortunately, this place brings you the cheapest most inauthentic products. There is no excuse. This place could have the rich potteries, the intense brocades, the gorgeous leathers and silver goods-yet this business does not bring high-end artisan merchandise but rather the type of odds and ends that appeals to undiscerning tourists intent on getting«something cheap.» I’m sorry to say-just to claim items are from Mexico doesn’t mean they are representative of the best of the country-or even representative at all. It’s cheap Mexican-American kitsch. I wish San Pedro Square retail would follow the lead from its food establishments-bring sleek, quality material. If this place becomes a cheap flea market that will mean that the vision behind the project will collapse. Ditto for the horrific«gift shop» next to the eateries.
