We are a 24 hour emergency service provider with a focus on water extraction, residential or commercial drying, mold and sewage remediation, negative air pressure enclosures, trauma or biohazard cleanup. Bay Area Mitigation understands that when disaster strikes, the people affected by these unfortunate events can be overcome by emotional fatigue and stress and in many cases don’t know where to start the mitigation process. Business Owner

A native of California, Joseph began his career in the disaster restoration industry in 1999. First as a water damage technician, a project manager and ultimately operations manager for a large, well known, local restoration contractor. Joseph holds numerous certifications in various disaster restoration disciplines. Always striving to further his education and knowledge so that he may better serve his clientele. Joseph continues to be directly involved with day to day operations from the initial emergency response to post mitigation inspections. Bringing closure and resolution to a sometimes traumatic experience.

I have to give a update to my previous review. Bay Area Mitigation just rose to a new level – Awesome.We had a bit of a complication with our garage floor after Bay Area Mitigation had finished the job. When the floor people came to install the epoxy they found that the floor had developed a «skin» on it that would not allow the epoxy to adhere. This was in no way the fault of Joseph and his workers, but rather a result of a cement floor that was 60 years old and simply not absorbing the antimicrobial solution. As soon as I called Joseph he came immediately and insured me they would do whatever it took to fix the problem. Boy did they! They worked tirelessly to figure out a solution. The entire time they never made me feel like I was a inconvenience or that would charge me extra to make things right. My floor is perfect now thanks to Bay Area Mitigation. I just can not say enough about how much I appreciate Joseph and his integrity to always do the right thing!

Had a mold smell in my condo that I was trying to track. Joseph and his team were very easy to work with, good at communicating, prompt, and thorough. He took photos of various areas of concern, and wrote out a detailed report which included recommendations for clean-​up and mitigation. He and his crew were very professional and went beyond what was necessary to take care of the job. I would definitely call him again.

After arriving at my office this past Monday, I found my office flooded from a burst water heater. I called a number of water mitigation companies with little success, eventually reaching Joseph from Bay Area Mitigation. Joseph answered and based on the conversation gave me a detailed description of what might be needed. By that evening, Joseph and his crew (Victor) installed a number of dehumidifiers and heaters/​blowers in my two offices and the back room where the water heater had been located. They saved my office by drying the walls completely, preventing mold and drying all carpet completely. They were efficient, thorough, and honored the original price agreed upon, even thought the work took longer than they or I expected. Without reservation, I would recommend Joseph and bay area mitigation.

referred by highly rated another provider who couldn’t help when I needed the most — water damage happened in my house early in the morning.
as soon as contacting owner, Joseph, he came to my place on such a short notice, investigated the damage thoroughly, explained/​showed all I need to know with his great equipment — there were actually more damage than I could see with just my bare eyes and assured it’ll be cleaned up by the end of the process (Yes, water travels quite fast inside walls, ceilings and floors).
when such a disaster like this happens to anyone, what else needed more if there is someone does all above with confidence.
I hired him immediately (to avoid further damage such as mold, etc) and his team started their work within 2 hours.
I was informed every day regarding what’s been done, work progress and what would be next, etc via email like other reviews (Yes, written communication is important).
he’s been always available whenever I need to speak and responded quickly and friendly especially when I dealt with insurance adjuster.
his team members are also extremely friendly, courtesy and very professional.
during mitigation, they are not only doing their job very well but also working on home owner’s sake — they didn’t just tear them apart to make their job easy, they discussed and proceeded the best option considering home owner’s benefit which will happen after mitigation done, repair work! (see uploaded pictures to see what I mean by this)
he even helped me to go through insurance claim process to make sure there will be no unnecessary hassle and it worked out very well at the end (mitigation part at least)
now I need repair work done but that’s totally separate story and I highly recommend Joseph to anyone I know if there is something like this happens.
my 2 cents after experienced this:
1. don’t panic, there is always help and take time and document your damage first
2. check with your insurance company to hear what they say but don’t be just naïve
3. more importantly, add some early warning system like water detector, etc

Over the years, I have only written a few letters of appreciation directly to vendors after an engagement, but my letter to Bay Area Mitigation was heartfelt.
After the discovery of water damage and related mold in our laundry room last year, I naively just called the first organization I found in the phone book. A month later, that remediation failed inspection — we actually had more mold spores than when we had started. I had to fire that company.
After putting the job out for bid to three new contractors, we hired Joseph and Bay Area Mitigation, who came in and helped to address thoroughly, professionally and completely the poor job the first contractor did. Results: no mold detected.
Joseph also went above and beyond during the job, in terms of letting me know every day via email what had been accomplished, what was next, what to expect. He also helped coordinate work with the contractors who were rebuilding our room after the remediation. I have enthusiastically referred them two of my colleagues in the months since then, and would recommend their services to anyone dealing with the issues they help remediate.

Hi flood victim…
If you are reading this review, I feel your pain. Believe me… How can something that is so needed cause so much damage. Water gotta love it…
Here is my story. I have a 2nd floor condo that I rent, during the night the water heater breaks and 30 gallons of water begins its evil plot to ruin my life. Hardwood floor soaked, wall soaked, and worst of all water starts seeping into the lower units. What a mess. I call Joseph and he is able to come out in a few hours to investigate. Machines are set up that day and best of all he sends detailed updates every day.
(A note about Joseph, extremely organized, professional, but not at all funny. If you tell a joke don’t expect a laugh and don’t expect any humor from him. Why is this important, well, 3 units had water damage and dollar signs are adding up, a little joke (or at least laughing at my attempts) would have cut the tension, anyway).
Net Net: Units are dry, no evil black mold, and I am happy.
