Why it 2 stars? I like the server– the lady in front is very friendly and always smile w us but the food is very terrible! I and my mom ordered the bun nuoc lieu and it just like not hot enough so you know when u eat tye bun mam or bun nuoc leo, if it not hot enough, smell like fish and eowwww… And one more thing that they put very less fish and couple peace of pork meat(the BBQ pork they make is not crispy) and put in to the bowl, never come back for the bun mam again :( Bun large size 9.99+tax+tip

Excited to have found a place that specializes in Bun Mam. The flavors were a bit on the saltier side though. 2 sizes to choose from.

A co-worker of mine asked me one day if I had ever eaten Bun Mam. When I said no, he raved about how good it was & that i should ask my girlfriend to cook it for me. My girlfriend is Vietnamese, but unfortunately she didn’t know how to cook the stuff. That’s what sent us on a mission to find some. A quick search & we were off. Well… I’m not Vietnamese, but there’s just something I couldn’t help but love about this salty/fishy soup. For all my fellow filipinos, just think of a fish bagoong base. No not the shrimp bagoong. The other more hardcore bagoong we dip mangos in. May sound funky, but it’s amazing stuff. The Bun Mam here is great & we love the way we can eat it outdoors on the tables that they have up front.

Food was good. Bun Bo hue and banh xeo is what I ordered. Nice environment and friendly service. For some reason I only see females here. But I guess that’s a plus. I will be back.

The owner should learn how to say sorry whenever customer ask or complaint about their food. This is the first time we try Bun Mam at this place, the food tasted bad, the vegetable is unwashed and the owner is RUDE. Never come back again.

So tonight, I was with my bestfriend and he really wanted to eat bun bo hue, but all the places he likes to go to wasn’t available. And I, myself, was feeling like a spicy soupy for dinner as well. I Unilocaled bbh and this place came up and thought to myself, «oooh I haven’t had a nice bowl of stinky fish soup in awhile(since my mama refuses to make it at home now).» So I looked at the pictures and read the reviews and he agreed to give this place a try. I ordered a small bowl of bun mam(no eggplant, pork blood substitute). It came out first and oh goodness! it smelled sooooo good. And I must say, the veggies they give you is the perfect amount and they looked so fresh(unlike other places in the plaza where it’s somewhat wilted). I give it a 9ish. My bestfriend ordered a large bun bo hue and he said it was good-flavored, but he wished the sate(satay(sp?)) pepper oil thingy was more flavorful and that it lacked in spice so he couldn’t enjoy his bowl to full potential. He rates it at a 7.5. Overall the interior design was beautiful and very eye-capturing! We sat in the corner towards the front where there was a wall with some(fake?) grass on it and I couldn’t help but tough it haha. Loved the color and the chairs especially! It was pretty home-y for me. Everyone was very friendly and service was great! And the ventilation is very good, didn’t leave smelling too bad. I will most definitely come back again!

Service is ok, but Food is not good here. Everything is so sweet… they put too much sugar in the food/soup.

Finally had a chance to try this place, but we decided to order Togo instead of dining in. We walked in and ordered and it was pretty fast getting in and out. Since it was fairly empty for a Sunday afternoon, I think that’s why the service was fairly quick. Ordered the following: Bun mam — this is what they are known for I’m assuming. The broth was sweet and salty. It came with noodles, 2 pieces of fish, 2 pieces of pork, 2 pieces of shrimp and 3 pieces of eggplant. I felt like if there was more fish, I would have enjoyed it more. Bun bo hue — my husband had this and he said it was just ok. He still prefers our local spot. Overall this place was just ok, but I haven’t found any other place that makes bun mam.

Came here because Hue was crazy busy and this place was empty. next to the crazy busy Hue, this place didn’t look too promising, but it honestly wasn’t disappointing. I ordered the bun bo hue and it was extremely spicy, as it should be. The broth was nice and the noodles nice and thick. Nothing special, but it does fulfill bun bo hue cravings.

I really was hoping to like this place since I often cravvvvve bun mam, I don’t know what it is, yea it’s stinky but damn it’s good. The look and feel of the bun mam here is good but the first taste of the broth to me just screamed sweet. ugh. I was so sad as I finished up my pretty pricy bowl of unhappy bun mam. Back to the two closer places to me for now Bun Mam at Phở Lien and Truong Thanh, too bad they’re so inconsistent *sigh*.

Love it. Bun mam is one of my favorite noodle soup types. I tried few place and here is the best so far. The service here is good, and the place is clean. I love the idea of combining food and milk tea together. I’ll definitely come back

OMG, what are they thinking: Bun Mam and Boba Tea combo restaurant? A desperate move of a dying business or the owner actually doesn’t know craps how to run a restaurant? Boba tea customers are mostly teenagers who like to hang out at the place. But by combining it with your Bum Mam which itself already stinks up the restaurant, you intentionally invite NOBODY to come to your restaurant. Put that aside, here is why I rated 2 stars for this restaurant: SLOW. I ordered to go while it had no customer. Guess what, 20 min went by and I got no food. I wonder how they can serve lunch if most working people only have 1 hour to eat. I hope this restaurant can last for another year or two, but I’m feeling it’s a sinking ship.

I have a craving for the stinky noodle soup. It has been a year. Finally came to fix my craving. I stood outside for awhile since I wasn’t sure what the restaurant is serving. The new name added on to the original name is confusing. The plus side is now the restaurant accepts credit card. Wish the broth is a little more temperature hot. My vegetable wasn’t cook when I put it in. Yes I will come back.

Another new Viet place opened in this Silver Creek plaza. My friend and I were super skeptical of this place because it also advertises as a boba place which has it’s own separate name, menu, and even Unilocal page too. At first we assumed it was more of a restaurant than a boba place from the outside, since that’s the big sign on the building. But once we were inside it just looked a lot more like a boba place with food on the side. We decided to give the place a chance. It’s pretty hard to try to open another Viet place in this plaza especially since there’s already Hue, Phở Tau Bay, Banh Xeo, and Thien Long. But if you think about it, each place is known for their own specific thing — Hue for their bun bo hue and Thien Long for their hot plate and rice dishes. It’s all in the titles really. This place is most known for their Bun Mam, but having never had it beforee, I didn’t want to risk trying it and not liking the dish period. My friend also said I would not like it. So my review will mostly be on their other dishes and their service/ambience. I had their bun bo hue and it was pretty good, It was a good amount of spice, even splashed some in my eye and cried for a bit. There was the right amount of veggies and meat, there was blood cubes and also tendon in it as well. My friend tried their bun rieu and she liked it as well. The bowls may look small, but it is definitely the perfect serving for an average person imo. I feel it is a toss up of whether I would come here or to Hue a few doors down for bun bo hue. The workers were really nice. I want to say it seems like a family business by the way they all interacted with each other, not entirely sure. But I think since they were a new business, they were very accommodating and open to like suggestions and how we felt about the food. The waiters/cooks were really nice and conversed with us as well. It just all felt very homey. Maybe one day I will be back to try their Bun Mam.

Their bun mam is actually really good if u can stand the smell. Lol. it’s so good and tasty. Not as salty and plain like many other place I have tried. I finished my big bowl of bun mam ;o. Staffs are very friendly and nice to come and get some foods together with milk tea with friends.

HORRIBLE!!! If I could give zero star to this sh*tty hole, I definitely would. Those who gave this restaurant a 4 or 5 stars… Seriously??? The 4 dishes we ordered came out so bad and intolerable to swallow. What-so-called fermented fish taste so bland. My son’s gym socks is more fermented than their«Bun Mam». The list goes on and on but I’d rather not waste my time. One star & «HORRIBLE» sums it up!

This place signature dish is bun mam, is fishy broth. Not much people’s could endure the taste and smell, but if you like it. You will love this place. I also try their banh xeo. Oh my god is so crispy and good.

Not sure why my first review isnt on here any longer. …im positive ive rated this place before. Anyway. . This is my go to place for bun mam. I dont care if its a little expensive for the quantity or that its cash only. I thank God for this place:). Bun mam is probably my all time favorite viet dish and theres no other place that makes it as authentic as this one. The ladies are also always pleasant. Lovelovelove!

I ate at this restaurant at least once per trip to the South Bay area. The Bun Mam requires an acquired taste since the base of the broth is fermented fish. On a hot day, the aroma can be a bit much. But both Bun Mam Ha Tien and Bun Nuoc Leo Soc Trang are savory and flavorful. The braised prawn with rice is also a good dish but a bit messy to eat. The service is friendly and prompt. I plan to be back when within reasonable distance.
